Awesome comparison between the 2 cans. I'm a big Rugged fan, but their not always the best in all aspects. But with that said, every onee of their cans has exceeded my wants/needs and their customer service is phenominal.

Honestly the sure fact that you get less gas in the face would make the Razor a great pick. But who are we kidding. One can will never be enough so both would be great to own.

it's 556. if you want it to be quiet as possible just get a 300 blackout barrel.
I have no experience with Rugged, but I do with Surefire. I have three SF cans and they are very good suppressors, but, if anyone is thinking about a SF purchase, be sure to check the warranty if you have a baffle / endcap strike. I sent back a pre-SOCOM can with a strike on the last baffle and endcap (user error) and they charged me quite a bit to repair it. Maybe the SOCOM cans are easier to repair vs the fully welded FA556-212 that I sent back. Rugged has an unconditional lifetime warranty, which is a great selling point in my opinion.

If you have an end cap strike, it is always covered under warranty plus - if it is only an end cap strike (no baffle damage), we will send you a new one without having to send your suppressor in. The Razor556™ does come with a 5.56 flat end cap and the baffle spacing is different than the Razor762, making it optimized for the 5.56 caliber.
What is the Caliber rating for the 5.56? Any issues with say a 22-250?
Please make your mounting system available for use in HUB/1.375x24 thread pitch cans. It appears to be becoming the industry standard and a lot of your competitors are already making use of it. It'll bring in new customers who you're losing to ASR, Keymo, etc. mounting systems

Your website says "Dedicated". Do you want to buy mine back from me? I already own a 762 razor. I didn't think I was getting another 762 can that was "optimized".
I personally think it's shady they want you to pay for the better end cap. Their mission statement says they want to make the best suppressors, so why would they provide a subpar product out of the box and require your customers to spend more on something that should already be included to make the can perform better.
@@brandonmcmahan4080 It comes with a regular end cap. If you want specific features for your end cap, you can purchase another one. Not everyone wants the same thing.

Welp, until tomorrow I think the razor 556 is coming with a free tax stamp! Hard to beat that at 599. And also the rc2 comes with 100 SilencerShop credit right now to! So I’m about to do the only reasonably thing a person can do in this situation… Buy both the razor 556 and RC2 right now!!!

Honestly I think the Razor is getting a lot more shit than it deserves. People calling it trash, saying it's worthless etc. are just out of their mind. The big issue I have is that Rugged doesn't include either the premium muzzle device or the flash hider end cap. And without the flash hider endcap it's just not good at suppressing flash. But neither is the OSS, but that doesn't get shit. Even though it's far more expensive. In fact, I have the Razor and it's flash hiding capabilities are better than the OSS (Edit - it's actually even mentioned in the video).
The M2 muzzle brake that comes with the Razor isn't great, but if you're actually using the silencer it doesn't matter. If you shoot a lot without the silnecer then you'll need it. However, if you buy the flash hider end cap for the Razor you're still left with a great silencer that performs well in the dark, and the difference in dec. rating isn't that noticeable after shooting a few shots between the RC2 and the Razor (shooting on a 14.5 barrel or greater, and with the flash hider end cap).
Numbers over at Pew science, with their fancy little graph, make it look really bad... but seriously, go shoot one next to a RC2 and most people won't even be able to tell a difference. Overall, buying the Razor and the end cap you're at $700 all in. That's a great price for what you're getting. The Razor also has REALLY GOOD reduced gas blowback. One of the best silencers I've seen on the market at reducing it. I just wish Rugged would have been more transparent about what you're actually getting, and would have included the flash hider end cap. It would have been a hit if they had done a few things differently, maybe they'll correct it in the future... but it sucks for people that already bought it that they need to spend another $100 for the Razor to really be a competing product.
All That being said, I do much prefer the RC2's mounting construction. And if I could have one, it would be the RC2. But if you have a Razor on the way... don't feel bad. Don't be bummed out. It's still a very nice product with a great warranty that's tested heavily and will perform well in a market of high end products.
Just my opinion from someone that's shot a few of these things.

Also, I've already stated my opinion on Pew Science's data, and why I think the suppressor is still a good suppressor. I never said it's the best, it's far from it. It's got flaws. The main being that in order for it to keep up with something like the Surefire you have to invest enough money up to the point that it's priced similarly. If all you care about is looking at numbers and comparisons then sure, it's pretty low on the list. But if you actually owned the suppressor, you'd know it's still a quality product. Is it the best? Absolutely not. But it's far from un-usable like you make it out to be. Also, now I know you're lying about the reddit post. Because I've actually talked to that guy.
I think all 556 cans get shit. I’m waiting on a Socom RC2 and I’m nervous because I’ve had so many people tell me how terrible it is, but I think people are expecting it to be subsonic quiet and it just isn’t possible

You mentioned "less gassy" in passing... Is it a huge difference for the shooter? I have an older AAC can I rarely use because it's so unpleasant to shoot due of the gas blow back.
I haven’t even taken possession of mine yet, only gotten to shoot it at the range, and am shopping around for a second can. The locking collar on mine keeps loosening under use. Tried it on two different mounts and rifles. Myself and 2 employees at the range have tried tightening it down and it still happens. Maybe this is isolated, but I don’t have much trust in it so far.
Same thing happened to my Razor 762, but they fixed that under warranty (no such issues after repair). You might want to send it in.
@@johnher4946 Thanks. Yeah, they said as soon as it is approved and I have it to contact them and send it in. I only get “borrow” it when I go to the range (also my FFL).
Update: I took some acetone and cleaned out all the threads to the body and locking collar, wiped it all out, and blew it out with air. It seemed to clean something out and the locking collar turned much further than it has before. After 100 rds it did not loosen what so ever. I still purchased a Surefire rc2 sb2, but that seemed to resolve the issue with the Razor.

Great video, not trying to hid rugged’s mistakes on the can. One thing though, if you buy the 556 end cap and an actual muzzle device for a rugged (the m2 it comes with is TRASH) that’s another $200. So you’re only $200 below one of the best cans on the market so you might as well buy an RC2. If you are trying to buy the best bang for your buck can that’s cheap it would be the YHM T2 or maybe the DA Sierra 5 (depending on how well it actually performs only time will tell). Still great content
That's a good point, the cheapness of this can is kind of nullified because it comes with a 30cal end cap you will need to replace.
Bought mine from silencer shop in July. It's still in jail. Not only was it $599 for the can, I got a $250 manufacture rebate which I used to buy the $100 break and the $100 flash. I even got an extra 10% off so I still have $51 left on the rebate. Don't know if the rebate is still on but rugged routinely has rebates. Something else I found out afterward is that my local gun shop had a special that would've gave me free 6 month membership at the range. Pays to shop around.
@@okisurfaction A yhm is $350 comes with a break and built in flash hider. Also actually sounds good and they didn't pull a rugged and hide the bore diameter of the can.

Too bad the rugged can is pure trash. I’m wanting to see some non biased peer reviews of the polonium and sierra 5 to see what my next can will be. I have a turbo k that’s my only dedicated 556 can right now and it’s a solid performer given it’s a k can.
I had really high hopes for the Rugged can but man is it a disappointment. Sad too because they are a great company and awesome customer service.
Yeah they really sh*t the bed with the deceptive advertising on this one, that’s probably why they uploaded that video looking for a new marketing manager. Hopefully rugged reimburses everyone for their tax stamp

Still not good even for the price in my opinion. Pewscience showed this can barely performs better than the R762 with a 5.56 flashcap. If you are already choosing to compromise, might as well get the 30cal can for warranty purposes. Otherwise spend $200 more and get a RC2.
