    I think they use 1 less baffle to utilize a bigger blast chamber for reduced blowback, and I think they use 762 baffles because that may also help reduce blowback. I think the no gas to the face is worth it over a little more suppression using 556 baffles.

    Rugged specifically puts the serial number there because it's the thickest, most durable spot of the silencer. I think the words they use on their website say "serial number strategically placed in case silencer is damaged beyond repair".

    I just received my February 13th 2024, I thought I was going to be a little bit quieter. But maybe it was because I was shooting at an indoor range. Purchasing the flash hider was definitely a great idea as well. The next step is to shoot it at an outdoor range. And hopefully and I'll get a little bit better results.

    I have a Rugged Obsidian 45.
    Love it, run it on my Glock 41, and my Staccato P.
    I like the Razor due to the reduced gas coming at you.
    I have a AAC 7.62 and it is very quiet, and very little gas. But it is the size of an old maglite, weighs about as much too.
    Very quiet on the 11.5 300 blk.
    But I want something small, light that won't choke me out when I build my 12.5 5.56 upper.

    I just bought an Obsidian 9 a week ago I have an RC2 on Efile form4 sitting at 2.5 months so hopefully in a few weeks to a month I’ll have it but I know shooting them off when they get carbon locked sounds weird but that can is a fucking tank and the people that get carbon locked are usually using a warcomp so all of those gasses are prematurely leaving the barrel and settling around the locking collar I Love Q they’re my favorite I’m giving Rugged a chance now but I own a bunch of silencers like 4-5 for almost every caliber you can think of BUT 556 because it’s a loud ass round and subs aren’t widely available like 9mm or 22 but all that to say Surefire did it right it’s not the quietest but you’re using ears anyway but it’s the best QD mount on the market IMO. Especially using a 3 prong flash hider instead of a warcomp you don’t see shit through nods like other 556 cans do my brother has a Sandman and an RC2 and I bought the RC2. Like I said I’m going to start showing Rugged some love but I’m really waiting for Q’s 556 can I know some people don’t like Kevin (whatever reason) but Q makes ridiculously light and quiet cans and they say their 556 can they have that they’re gunna release soon is the best on the market. We’ll see. But I do like this Razor I might pick one up I just don’t know if it’ll be 556 or 762. 🤙🏻

    I would like to see the flash signature reduction comparison. Does the Razor 556 have 4 baffles like the Razor 762? I am assuming they did something different with the baffle design and/or quantity due to the weight difference between it and the 762 model.

    • @AbelCompanyArms
      @AbelCompanyArms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Pretty strange that they serialized it towards the front of the can, especially since the front half looks to me welded on and would be easy to replace if there was a baffle or end cap stile. Almost all companies are doing it as far rear as possible nowadays.

      @@shadezactual2657 On what criteria? I own the YHM T2 and the Razor 5.56 as well and find them identical in suppression ability but the T2 chokes me out with gas and unspent powder to the face. So much so I get soot on my face. I train often and hard though so YMMV. Also, the T2 took an end cap strike when I was running full auto and theres zero way for me to fix that without sending it in where the Rugged has a replacable end cap as its the MOST common failture in all suppressors. Not a fan of that part of the YHM T2.

    • @shadezactual2657
      @shadezactual2657 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RunningWithSauce Hey thanks for the comment! In regards to T2 vs Razor 556, unfortunately I can say with confidence the T2 does a superior job with sound suppression, tone, and most importantly for me flash suppression straight from the factory. I train with night vision most the time, and the razor 556 being essentially a 30 cal k can is horrible at flash suppression and causes temporary spots in my elbit's tube. And you can see the difference in tone on my comparison video I got between the two on the same exact rifle since I have my Razor cut by Ecco and a DA keymo. It makes sense that a can which has baffles designed for 223/556 has better overall suppression than a 30 caliber baffle stack in the Razor 556. As for the endocarp strike, did YHM fix your suppressor? They and rugged both have good warranty work and both are top notch when it comes to fixing cans even when it is user error!

  • @travisolexa3074
    @travisolexa3074 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    For anyone watching this in the future, the Razor 556 uses the same .360 diameter baffles as the Razor 762. This can is literally a Razor 762 with one less baffle labeled as a 'dedicated 5.56', a literal sham.

    • @AbelCompanyArms
      @AbelCompanyArms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I just dug it out and put it next to a Razor 7.62. Holy shit, it’s literally just a different size end cap. I would have never thought to look at that. Side by side I can’t tell a difference.

      I looked at a HUXWRX Flow and really wanted to like it, but for me, there were two problems: their warranty is only against "workmanship" and it's "limited to the lifetime of the suppressor." I reached out to HUXWRX for clarification and they confirmed: they will only repair/replace for free it the failure is due to faulty manufacturing; otherwise, the cost of repair is on you. Also, the "lifetime" of the can is only 10,000 rounds. They said you could "probably" get 20,000 rounds with frequent maintenance.
