I purchased this and understand somewhat how to use it, now to pick my template heading I want and pick figure out how to use it constantly and get it out of the powerpoint to be able to print it. I love your videos and purchased some stuff will purchase more when I can and when I truly need it.

I'm completing my student teaching right now so I appreciate this series so much!! I love your template! I'll definitely be purchasing it. I just updated mine but now I want to add an educational philosophy! I feel like anyone applying for teaching jobs should definitely know what cooperative learning, differentiation, etc are if they are trying to get a teaching position haha.
I definitely agree that people should know what those terms mean but you'd be surprised... ha! Best of luck as you begin applying for teaching jobs. It can definitely be hard when you don't have experience but I personally believe teachers fresh out of college have the best ideas and the most energy ;) I hope you love the template!
I loved that! I've been a teacher for 21 years but now want to go in another direction. I want to apply for a position in my church as a Director of Youth Services, or Children's ministry director. I'm unsure of how to adapt my resume' to go with a job like that.

I graduated college early which has been great, but now I'm wondering when is a good time to start sending resumes? I have been told to send my resume directly to the Boards of Education for districts I am interested in. Should I do that now or wait until the hiring season really takes off?

Oh my gosh, you don't even want to see my resume from high school! It was awful! But your resume definitely isn't the end all be all when it comes to getting hired!
Do you have any tips for resumes for a person who is making a career shift from the professional world to teaching? I recently passed the certification exam. I have 4 prior professional jobs and no teaching experience, and I’m struggling to fit my resume on one page. I have shortened the job descriptions to two bullet points each but I’m still struggling.

I stumbled upon your channel, because as a teacher, I watch teaching videos for fun, and because I lead a sad, sad, life! (Just kidding!)
One thing I do want to add, which I have been told by other educators and admin, is that standard teaching resumes can be two pages, due to placements, grade changes and school changes. I personally had my internships at three different schools, and have taught in three different states, in 6 different school, in PK-6 (6th science during my internship) except third. That's A LOT to fit on one page!

I am about to start an elementary education program at my local university, at the same time applying to the school county I am in for like secretary, registration positions just to get my feet in the door. I was wondering if you could share some helpful " objectives" to put on a resume for people like myself??

I am so with you! I hate cover letters! I am going to be creating a cover letter template that corresponds with the resume template and I will be adding it to the product on TpT! I didn't quite have time to get it done before I was posting this video but it will be coming! I'll make sure I show my cover letter in a future video so you can see an example! Thanks!!
I was going to ask the same thing about cover letters! I HATE writing them! I never know what exactly to write or if I should tailor them to each district or what. I've been looking for a full-time job ever since I graduated in 2014 and it's been so frustrating and discouraging. But this video was so helpful! I need to be more concise with my resume. Thanks so much for the tips and a cover letter video would be super helpful too!

Good question! We aren't getting married but we have been living together for a few years. He needs to be closer to DC for his job and we are kind of a package deal, ha! We will be getting engaged in about a year and then obviously getting married after that :)
For recent college graduates who are applying for their first teaching job, would you recommend listing any high school achievements? or should i just stick to college achievements?
I personally believe that once you have graduated college, high school is irrelevant (unless it is an extremely important achievement). However, if your resume is kind of empty you could add it on there!
I downloaded the template for a job fair because the one I've been using just wasn't cutting it and I'm hoping this shows off better. Do you have any tips for job fairs? I have no idea what I should have in hand, how many copies, do I copy my transcripts or just bring the originals to look at? It's for the school district I want to work in for assistant positions while I finish my certifications.

I actually was able to take the exams through my high school so I was certified during my senior year! I took exams for Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook and passed them all. As I passed them, I got certificates and my information is stored on the Microsoft website for verification. Here is the website if you want more information:

I don't think it's a necessity for teaching, but I do think it's a great certification to have! I ultimately want to be a technology coach for districts so it's something related to my career goals.

I wanna apply a job as an English teacher but I have no experience, how can I have a perfect resume. My English teacher told me he could write a great one based on my education and also where I learned my English (who was my teacher) but he is quite busy.
I loved this video. It was super helpful. Could you do a video on running a TpT store. I just opened mine (Follow the Mathematical Road) for high school math but I'm not sure how to advertise it to other teachers.

May I suggest that you change "now" to "present" not sure why that's sticking out. I have always seen July 2014 - present. Have been on several interview committees.
I have actually already changed that! This resume was still in the "drafting" stage... I originally couldn't fit "Present" with the font size I had chosen but I have since changed it! Thanks!
Also, as your experience grows, your resume needs to grow. My current resume is two-pages, and is what lead me to my current position. It needs to be quick to read. I was praised for a concise resume, that was easy for the principal to find important information, dispute it being two pages.

What about formatting for your cover letter or do you not have one?
I've never provided references. Meaning, I never provide phone numbers of the places I previously worked in, and I've still gotten interviews. Honestly, I've never been fired from a job but if I no longer work there, it's because I strongly disliked the people and administrators, and therefore left on not such good terms. So I wouldn't want a potential new employer calling to ask about my time there. Though they could still just Google the place for a phone number, but I just don't want to make it easy for them and worst for me.
Do you have to put objective in resume? It was always emphasized in college. Thx.

Quick Question! What is the template size of your resume? Is it the international A4 standard paper? But it looks extra bigger, like A3, perhaps?
The resume is a standard 8.5" by 11" paper size and prints perfectly on regular sized printer paper! Thanks for asking!
