My parents generation didn’t understand that sampling kept music alive; it wasn’t stealing. If it wasn’t for producers like 9th introducing me to these legendary musicians, I’d still be crankin’ that soulja boy.
I’ll never forget when Scratch magazine interviewed 9th and pressed him a little about his use of Fruity Loops (which then was still considered a novice software) and asked if he was going to upgrade his equipment or purchase new gear since he found success in the music industry… He just goes, “If I’m sinking threes in Chuck Taylors, why do I need to run out and buy Jordan’s?” Legend. King. Much respect. 👑
As someone who started making beats on Fruity Loops in the late 90's it's crazy to see how much of modern rap is produced with FL. It really did sound like ass back then though, super robotic. I was like 17, we all really WANTED MPC's but they always felt so out of reach money wise. I own a few now and have a lot of respect for what young beat makers can do with FL but I still think the MPC 3000 and even the 2000xl sound better.
so? you're literally just spamming peoples' comments with the same shit. someone had to say something. get the fuck outta here if you don't like 9th's work. why are you even here if you're just gonna diss him? i'm not saying that the zion and grouch tune isn't bumping, but that's irrelevant here. TL;DR you're a waste of space. fuck off.
Hahaha lol no joke mang that shit is unreal...nobody like 9th I think his beat making ability is up there with dre and timberland!!! I don't know how 9th hasn't blown up I know he's big with Hip Hop Heads like myself but he should be world-renowned already like wayyy more respected how talented he really is!!!
The beat has been out for about two months now, its called Baby Cry on his project Zion go copp it wherever. Thank you to everyone who told me it was out, very nice of you guys!! :)) And to those who are fucking arguing over stupid shit, get over yourselves and just enjoy this FIYAAAAA
He flipped it inexplicably.. i make beats predominantly on sampling but 9th is on another dimension. Salute brotha.. Hi Rapsody, thnx gracing the vid wit yo presence..
god damn i get emotional any time I watch a talented person perform with passion, you can just see that he loves what he's doing and that's why we all love it too
One of the best who ever done it! This has me thinking of J DIlla, Kev Brown, Nicolay, Jazzy Jeff and Large Professor and how they put complexity together and make it seem so simple but thats years of practice. Nice!!!
Nice! A German Hip Hop Group called "Blumentopf" used this sample also maybe 10 years ago. It was an their album "Kein Zufall". The first Interlude used this sample, and my whole life i listened to this 23 seconds long piece of music in auto repeat.
I've been producing for about 10 years now. Found this video shortly after I started, and I still come back to it. Sampling is a beautiful thing. So many legendary artists would just be forgotten if it wasn't for it. Anyone who thinks it's cheap or cheating needs to sit in front of an mp with nothing but a couple of records and try it.

Amen brotha
soulja boy sampled first

I remember that article like around 2004 that’s how I found out about FL 💯

It's the man behind the machine, and not the machine that counts, no matter what you use if you don't have the talent forget it.
"Here we go... We're in business now!" - Everyone who has ever found a sample.
@El Desaparecido who the fuck cares? I've heard several songs that use the same sample, just applied and chopped differently.

1:55 - Proof that the passion is real no matter how long you’ve been choppin’ it up... Motivation
when u smile like that making a beat you know that it's straight heat
Everyone who samples know that when you put it together and then you ear the drums, it's a magical moment.
Love how many people are commenting on 1:55 part. Literally everyone looking for that same feeling and same vibe, I love music.
Rapsody was writing before she was asked to. That's that hunger you can't fake

The God of beat making.

Hip-Hop
@@vexshoemaker3941 What makes a beat wack cause I've heard decent beats people say are wack
The beat is Baby cry - 9th wonder
@@vexshoemaker3941 No one asked.
That's such a sick fucking beat, this really needs to be releases. I can't stop listening to what little he shows in the video. I'm hooked on it
One of the only elite sample based producers that got away with using the same snare in 90% of his beats
Mannn these are the beats I crave, I still listen to Little Brother and Foreign Exchange 2020 ❤
Lmao when 9th turned and gave em that look like “yea… this bout to be some heat”!!🔥🔥😂💯💪🏽

+STACKTRACE literally, one of the best moments in that vid
I bang my head the same way when making beats even though it's nowhere near as saucy as his.
I love watching creative people at work, and more importantly, visibly enjoying what they're creating. Soooooo cool.
Here from drakes and 21 album IYKYK
