the thing i just miss the most is the vibrant colors and more beautiful maps. These maps seem bland and dark and grey and just random af without any meaning i miss the chapter 2 vibrants or when they first used lumen on their maps.
I actually have a counter argument it isn’t that it is colorless or less vibrant its simply catering to the themes surrounding the island and the future of this chapter the architecture is based off of Italy along with the overall scenery we also have greek ruins to back this up further and we know next season is themed around greek mythology which actually fits Fortnite extremely well since everymap has been named after a greek god and this is the first one to actually be greek themed its beautiful in my opinion and i love the style they are going for. And the inside of buildings is bright and vibrant as all heck with lumen enabled you have these intense reds and these bright yellows mixed with orange and bright whites and when this is done with the inside architecture its so beautiful. Fortnite hasn’t lost its color and vibrancy its just representing a different style to match its current themes.
I remember when there was just battle royale playground mode and creative and before you booted up the game save the world or battle royale or creative
I've probably played chapter 5 the least out of all Chapters. It just seems off and in my opinion is trying to hard and trying to compete or out do itself but failing to as they forget the basic elements that made Fortnite.
i really do miss the actual storyline being somewhat convoluted but you could follow it, after chapter 2, they just stopped having interesting story challenges and the story got even worse which really sucks, but fortnite is still about playing with the bros
i know games have to "evolve" but they evolve with gameplay improvements and some slight art style improvements, NOT MAJOR ONES like fortnite does every chapter, also most mainstream games are on the same art style years later and are alive asf. the art style change created the disaster of chapter 4 and yearly chapters over an rtx engine update which most of the playerbase don't even use
i loved the chapter 4 colors, it was so vibrant and the art style was amazing. I think that is what we are missing, chapter 5 feels like the color will eventually give me depression not gonna lie. That's my opinion lol.
What's really weird about this season is how a lot of people who haven't played in years came back and are enjoying it, but people who have stayed are complaining.

@@s.m.4479 Hot take, but I initially quit Chapter 1 of Fortnite pretty early on because it was much more boring and had way less to do. That's something I can't say about this season, as we got three new game modes, and also since then, we've had Creative for a few years. I honestly think most players have a nostalgia bias to the older seasons, so they look at them through rose-tinted glasses if you get the analogy.
I think Epic gave up on the story line and are just focusing on collabs. I miss when epic did events. Also the map just looks depressing for some reason. I miss the looks from the chapter 1, 2, and 3 maps.

I think the reason why C1 S5 is my favorite is the updates. Every time that I'd get home from school, I'd look forward to getting online and seeing if there's anything new. I remember seeing the cube and I was so interested in it. Now it's just hopping onto Fortnite. There's nothing more to it, it's just getting on Fortnite. When we do get an update half the time it's an update I'd never use or see, or I just hate it. Either way I still love Fortnite, it's just that it feels like every match is the same.
I’m personally really enjoying this season but I can understand why people aren’t feeling it. I would definitely like to see more frequent map updates and a more cohesive story, but for me it doesn’t take away that the game is still very fun. Of course the UI, locker, and shops need improving too. It feels like the core of the game isn’t the problem, but the outer and expansive layers surrounding the core are
@@mitzki1214 that is true, but I’m talking about them reusing a lot of the same skins. There’s over a thousand skins in the game but they keep bring back the same 75 or so. This is due to the LEGO mode of course, most of the reused skins have finished LEGO figures. Just want a little variety, maybe the return of the featured and daily sections
yeah the UI needs some serious work. i know they changed it to make switching game modes easier, but they did not have to make it so ugly and hard to navigate.
what i dont like about this season is how it overcomplicates fortnite and makes it stressful to play, now you have to worry about multiple things at the same time, weapon attachments, movement items, medallions, snipers, mythics, vaults, etc. all of these you gotta worry about having otherwise there's no way to win the match, on top of that, your playstyle now has to accomodate for pressuring a guy with 3 medallions in their inventory meanwhile they spam multiple boxes so they get all their health back, at the same time hoping you dont get sniped and hear the grapple sound, while nearby there's other people with medallions creating a whole fight in fencing fields and all you have is a green hammer that doesn't have the right attachments.
Honestly I really like this season but the main problem is that there hasn’t been any major updates and it feels like Fortnite is spending all their time on racing and the music mode
The thing I hate is how every chapter they try to change the lootpool completely like yeah I get how the game supposed to evolve but why not leave some of the old iconic guns and slowly add new ones? Also the fact that they try so hard to be realistic is sort of annoying at the start of the season i felt like I was playing gta the map is huge but its feels like copy n paste in every poi hopefully they can fix some of these issues bc Fortnite is one of my fav games

Sorry to burst your bubble on the statement but sweeny doesn't care. Disney will come in and destroy the original DNA of the game, unless we do something about it. And my opinion on what to do is simple. Stop buying skins and stop giving them attention and watch them squirm. Other then that I can already say that chapter 5 is still going to be empty.
For me the BIGGEST issue is the new movement animations. It just completely killed the momentum for me and I just hate how realistic and tactical, yet also bland in some ways it looks. They need to either make it look faster and smoother or just revert it to the original. Second place would have to be the weapon mods. Makes the game not feel like fortnite, makes all the guns feel the same and the whole non-hit scan thing I hate. Third would be the map, this could get better as the chapter goes on but right now it’s missing a lot and there’s to many bosses already for the start of a chapter. Probably one of the most boring seasons yet and I pray things change sooner than later
@@rise.-mikey yup, the movement nerf was rediculous and seems like they're always trying to slow down builds in some way shape or form. You have a knocked teammate by a wall and you can't edit etc. Wth fortnite you already made 0 builds for the nooks and whiners leave builds alone!
When chapter 5 first launched, I remember there seemed to be two main changes people were complaining about: the movement, and (more importantly imo) the locker ui. Epic reacted to the movement criticism really quickly and effectively and fixed that in one of the first updates of the season. So WHY am I still dealing with this stupid, inefficient, bland-looking locker? Why can I still not shuffle presets, why are emotes and lobbies not bound to skins in presets, and why do I have different amounts of presets available in every section? I honestly think this season would be a pretty good one in my mind if it weren’t for the locker update, but because that was never fixed I consider this the worst chapter launch we’ve ever had and it’s not even close. Not to mention that the preset cap should have been raised from 100 to at least 200 (if not infinite, I still don’t know why there’s a limit) a LONG time ago. They really dropped the ball with this one.
I feel like the big one for me is the Fortnite storyline like what happened to the seven the foundation slone it just feels like the storyline Is dead and needs to continue in some form or way or atleast a backstory of why none of them were there
Chapter 5 takes itself too seriously. One of the main characters is literally a walking banana, the game shouldn’t be trying to be so realistic. Like chapter 5 is fun, I do enjoy it, but it doesn’t feel like Fortnite anymore.
Yeah, peter griffin boss fight was the best part of this update. Too bad his mythic weapon and location were bad, so players were less incentivised to go here. Rest was just generic spy action. And combined with lack of mini events and too stable meta of 3 weapons, it got stale really quickly
I think Fortnite having the game in the OG seasons isn’t the play. Rather bringing that old charm and character back to newer seasons for example the map, I think the map we have now is rather bland it’s all kind of just mansions and villas. But in the old maps the locations had so much character and vibrancy like tilted, loot lake, risky reels. Or the old events like the meteor, cube, tv countdown all building up to the next event, it generate a lot of mystery and excitement. The events now feel more like banal advertisements than anything. I’d really love a return to form of how epic used to handle the old game rather than just recycling the same og season content.
The problem is that the battle royale player counts are still insanely high, and players haven’t dropped off after the OG season. To epic that just means that this new version of Fortnite is just as successful, and until player interest drops they won’t change anything

In terms of best seasons, I've been an on and off player but I will NEVER forget Chapter 1 Season 10. Introduced me to my favorite skin X-Lord. Its actually really funny, all these cross overs, flashy new skins and all that and yet, just, final upgrade of a season 1 skin is my favorite.
Honestly. I played all chaoter 1, I played all of chapter 2, and fortnite lost me for chapter 3 and chapter 4, I came back for fortnite og. Loved it, felt great considering I only played chaoter 1 and 2 anyways, and chapter 5 came along. And I'm still with it. But I do have problems. Some of the items just kinda suck. And the auto shotgun is way too easy to use allowing really bad players to eliminate you just because they made it into your box. The updates haven't been great and the story line seemed at the beginning like it was gonna have a really interesting narrative to tell with peely missing. But we haven't seen any of this happen. As of right now we still just know he's missing. No other info and the season is coming to a close. Also where's the mid season map changes?? Snow melting isn't enough of a change it's the same map still just less white. Where the new poi areas? Why aren't certain things changing with the fight between the underground and society. So far it seems they just keep to themselves and haven't fought? Why aren't some factions loosing their hold on some places? Mythic weapons changing because of this? Like??
Also klarque a guy discovered that they were story quests actually about peely part 1 and 2 but for now they re only visible to new players and they re not on the menu even. So another thing they screw up again. All this season we could have story quests and they never fix it or gave it to us. And the season is almost over. Its like they dont care fixing some stuff too.
Sadly the SBMM destroys the game for me, when i load into the lobby i always want to play BR but i rarely end up playing it just because everytime i do play it i die in the first 1 or 2 fights because everyone is a lot better then me and its this way since chapter 4 saison 1, there is no purpose in playing it if there is 0 chance to win the game or even get a good game with more then 1 or 2 elims.
I don't know what you mean by "winning", but if it is getting 1st place, you have to think, you have a 1/100 chance of winning, and as you say, pepole might be better than you. Saying "nah everyone seems better than me, the game is boring" is to give up early. Rather, try saying "I'll try to get better, but right, now, I'm giving my 100%, if that isn't enough, whatever, ggs". There's the argument "well I don't play to win, I just play to have fun" but really I don't think someone plays without trying to win. Also, that thing about "losing the first or second fight in a match", that's something that I realized on another game. This isn't a fighting game, this is a battle royale. The point of the mode is not to make kills, is to survive. Of course you are not just gonna camp and do nothing, that's boring, but like, the game makes up for those spaces to do other things. After saying that, I will say that maybe, and honestly, this could be an extern thing. I just saw another comment that was saying "the weapons are too broken this season". I don't really know if they are or not because this is my first season playing, but that could absolutely be a possibility. But also, I think it has been some time since they added bots to matches, doesn't they make the matches more easy?
i think Epic Games should not do yearly Island replacements because it's clearly affecting updates we get now, along with completely chop off the LEGO Fortnite mode and let it die because its a complete failure now and barely anyone plays it like everyone did the first week, realized the end goal is shit with it just being to get the final stage of crafting and then abandoned it like i did. i want the story to focus BACK to what it was supposed to because there is clearly some things in it that were entirely forgotten along with not making as many new weapons as old ones and unvaulting random stuff each week with no concern about balance because unbalanced games can be fun as hell. great examples of this is Mario Kart Wii and the original MW2. people LOVE how unbalanced those games are and still enjoy them to this day so putting that in a live service game like Fortnite makes complete sense also spare the developers from making lego versions of each skin, its absolutely sad how hard it is for them to catch up. the item shop failed to change for 3 weeks because of that until Epic said "fuck it, were gonna put unfinished LEGO versions in the item shop" which is still not being fully done. abandon the terrible LEGO mode and focus the resources on better stuff like that Fallout like story mode and BR/Creative. please Epic

I love chapter 5, personally my second favourite season 1 map, it’s probably had one of the worst starts to a chapter yes, but then we got all these new game modes and over that month it was so much fun, yes content slowed down but epic deserves a break right? Just like most of us get Christmas break. And they spent most of last year making these new game modes and still managed to make chapter 5 good and have dry spots yes but whenever we get content so far it’s been pretty good, from solid snake to TMNT. So imma sit in this dark corner and defend chapter 5 Even tho I respect everyone’s opinion
its still fun, i usually try to get lots of kills but today i tried to be as sneaky as possible wearing solid snake skin and its so much more fun just messing around instead if coming across people who act like theyre gonna win a million dollars to going against easier opponents
There are always some players who complain. Maybe they can't adapt to new landing locations, mechanics or weapons. This season is great. Why don't you go to Lavish Lair and take a good look at this castle? Stand on the engine of the train and ride through the whole map. The graphics are unique. The weapons are ok, the upgrades are a great addition. The bosses are well done, as is the medallion system. The only negative thing about this season was already negative in the last and penultimate season: there is no SBMM. With a fair SBMM, this season would be perfect and could last forever.
The main issue is the censorship. The female skins are all the same skinny body type and conservative clothing with modesty shorts. A far cry from the thicc cleavage skins we used to get in Ch 1.

Four months later and things have just gotten worse. Regardless of the new gameplay mechanics (I actually quite like the current season gameplay-wise), they simply don’t care about their own story anymore. The writing is so lazy, every new story arc introduced is just abandoned, and on top of that, god forbid you get killed in the middle of some cutscene/expository dialogue and have to go look for it on TH-cam because there’s no way to replay it in game. People seem to forget that videogames are a story telling medium; and Epic simply doesn’t care about their own story anymore; so why should we?
Fortnite is a lot of fun with friends. I play with my old high school friends but since I live in Japan now and some of us have children it makes it virtually impossible to match up.
I started playing this game a year ago and I'm having alot of fun with it. I could see how the game could just get stale if you play it alot for years. Since it's the same thing. When I was a kid I used to play call of duty zombies alot. Eventually it got boring.

Outside of playing with my friends I spent way more time on Lego Fortnite than playing solo on zero build. Even then I only played Zero Build long enough to get a quest or two out of the way. Love the TMNT collab though. Ton of free stuff and I get to goof around with the weapons. 🤔
I like fortnite chapter 5. The main problem is how there is no vibrant colors. No blue ice biomes. No desert, No light biomes. Just dark realistic colors.
I miss the good item shops before LEGO took over the rotation, I miss the winterfest cabin, I miss BR updates more than every so often, I miss a lootpool that didn't revolve around 2 weapons, I miss when the majority of focus of the game was on BR, I miss when the UI and locker didn't suck. I’m reminded of any argument against any new shows coming out such as X-men 97 or any Disney movie. Critics are told “well it’s not for you or you’re an adult so why are you upset about a cartoon?” That is the same as the nostalgic argument. It shuts down the discussion and those who say that lack the ability to sit down and think why people think that. And the problem with TMNT is Raph’s bandana. Why not give him an edit style? That’s the reason I didn’t buy a turtle. I went with April.
A few days ago I argued why og Fortnite shouldn’t be permanent but I also understand why people miss it so much, chapter 5 isn’t necessarily bad but there’s very few updates and truth be told weapons aren’t playing like they used to. There is no story as of current and as for music concerts are no longer a thing in favor of the festival map, realistically maybe we’ve been spoiled but the lack of creativity even with skins is apparent which is wild considering community skins.
This chapter makes me miss chapter 4 and chapter 4 was atrocious besides the first season, i’d be happy if they just brought back all the other chapters and seasons and stopped updating the game at this point, I get absolutely zero enjoyment playing now, even with friends
At first i hated the season but now it's just ok nothing to special and to be honest if the turtles and peter griffin wasn't in this season not many people would've cared for the battlepass or the season.(at least Battle royale wise)
So glad to finally see a moderate voice in the FN community. A lot of the points you made in this video are genuinely really good! I don't agree with all of them, but I agree on the fact the game isn't perfect, but can get better. At the end of the day, I think we should look back to what epic said about Chapter 5. It's a new beginning. Everything before hand in fortnite was important, yes. But chapter 5 onwards is where Fortnite really begins, and it becomes a whole new phenomenon. Like you said, we may not have ever seen peak fortnite, and I hope we get there soon.
i personally believe this season is very flawed, but good. we got 3 new modes, peter griffin, snake, tmnt is one of the best collabs theyve ever done imo, the anims look amazing, the guns feel very good, my main complaints are that the frenzy shotgun and the snipers are extremely strong, especially in no build, since my friends prefer that, and no build is miserable as it is, and that this UI was an unneeded update. every other big issue was fixed extremely fast, and tbh fort lore isnt interesting to me at all.
I mostly agree with your points of conversation, mainly the Vibrance of the game looking like apex legends. also I really hope you're right about Fortnite not hitting it's peak yet, so that we can finally see the "True Version" of this game
I like chapter 5, but I have few issues with the guns, while the sniper feels amazing every other gun feels horrible other than the auto shotgun, it is insane how the auto shotgun does almost as much as the pump with over double the fire rate, and the projectile speed of most guns is just too slow for how fast you can go in the game.

The map is probably the worst ever Imo and my biggest issue. Not only does it look nothing like a fortnite map these pois are horribly designed, they don’t work with the building mechanics at all. Can’t build on roofs of pretty much all the pois, can’t build because random ledge or corner is there or replace any of the walls at ruined reels, there are parts of the map that are literally completely off grid. Mansions like lavish tower over the map and promote a campy playstyle, only 3 pois don’t have henchmen, the warmer biome literally has stretches of nothing for miles
It’s hard to like this chapter. None of the POIs have really landed with me like Tilted Tower, The Agency, Coney Crossroads, and even recently with Mega City. There’s no POI that’s unique and amazing. There’s also the fact that it feels like all of the joy and life from the game was sucked out. The colors are so much darker, with the main colors being dark green, reddish brown, and grey. Chapter 4 had vibrant colors and cartoony graphics, while also keeping realism. Chapter 5’s updates are insanely lackluster too. As you said, one of the main updates of the season added a new skin, a worse Predator mythic, a cardboard box, and a gun that everywhere I go, I see it’s face. The only good update was TMNT but that’s over. The new modes were hyped up so much, which killed them. Lego was good for a week, but wasn’t worth playing, Rocket Racing is Mario Kart but more complicated, and Fortnite Festival is something I’ll only play for an hour.
Winterfest was my last straw that was when i stoppe playing chapter 5 i was so disappointed my christmas was already screwed as my mom had gotten covid and I couldnt even enjoy virtual christmas
I really hope that epic makes a battle pass customizable destiny skin with all the armor sets and the photo finish shades with Fortnite original shaders. And I'm really enjoying this season
In absolutely loving this season it has an attachment system and also other fun things like that. Don’t forget that sniping is really fun this season too.
I wish they would have done something cooler with this season battle pass skins, bc all of them are so cool. But like, only Oscar, Valeria, Hope and Jonsey did something, and only Valeria did something after the arrival of the season, and it sucks becasue they are so cool. Hopefully the last event of the season is something cooler that involves all of them, and not just Valeria opening the pandora box because, again, only Valeria has been doing something all this season, and even tho the event will be cool, maybe it will just "happen". I would love that a lobby was assigned to go defeat one member of the society besides valeria, and once all are defeated, you go after Valeria just for her to open the pandora box. This is simple and even cliche but honestly o wish it gets at least somewhat interesting.
I started playing in C3-S1. My favorite was probably C4-S2. I loved the map and aesthetics! That was peak Fortnite for me. I liked Season OG and C3-S3 also. Would love to see a standard Fortnite version of Lego Fortnite.
The chapter 5 map doesn’t feel as fun as the other chapters. The other chapters were more vibrant with color and had more life, but the chapter 5 island is just bland. BUT, season 2 did help the map feel more alive

I played fornite day one release, and left pretty quickly after that. Season 5 brought be back and i absolutely love it. As someone who hasnt experienced anything but the new season, i am genuinely confused as to why these complaints about "muted colours" or boring map that i dont understand. As someone who hasnt seen anything else, i love it all and it feels really great to me
The one thing i dont like about this chapter is the map feels more split. The map in chapter 3 and 4 had unity, and worked together, but this map just feels like a bunch of mini maps. I miss the blending of the locations and biomes.
I think that chapter 5 is not the worst season objectively but epic needs to upgrade some aspects of chapter 5 in general like the UI, the locker or the weapons balance. They will figure this out trough chapter 5 like for pumps during chapter 4. The graphics are good but it's missing 1 bit of color in general. And last but not least this season is a bit too long and they were more focused on the other modes. Even if chapter 5 doesn't start very well for everybody I still agree that at some point this chapter will be amazing as chapter 2 3 or 4 were in there own way. Have 236 days on this game and I’ve fully quit for the first time. Epics stupidity has made me touch grass and I’m actually enjoying my life without fortnite. So Epic, keep fucking up, you’re keeping me happy.
I feel like this new chapter is been relatively fun. It does have its moments though. The movement on the games does feel better than it first did but if there gonna have us run slower they need to give us unlimited sprint. I find myself tip toeing most of the match because im out of sprint. The attachments were a great idea but should be implemented in the lobby (similar to cod). The reason i say that is because theres not enough mod benches except where the bosses are and nobody is going out of there way to mod there weapon. Ballistic shield (im sure alot would agree) doesnt need to be in the game. BR is still fun for me. Its just at a stale point right now
In chapter 6 they NEED to bring back the old chapter 2 battle pass concept with each level bringing a new reward other than battle stars. They should also bring back the old chapter 2 battle pass menu/lobby, and maybe the shadow vs ghost idea with only having one style available.
See its alot of little things that bother me but it feels like every update BREAKS SOMETHING or changes something that doesn't need to be changed like itemshop, Ui, (i don't like the map) (i don't like most of the weapons) Artstyle, more and more glitches the news tab making my ears bleed the itemshop timer being replaced the bad to non existant story its all the small things that just add up over time(also this is the worst zero build map of all time Yes worse then OG)

I actually have a counter argument it isn’t that it is colorless or less vibrant its simply catering to the themes surrounding the island and the future of this chapter the architecture is based off of Italy along with the overall scenery we also have greek ruins to back this up further and we know next season is themed around greek mythology which actually fits Fortnite extremely well since everymap has been named after a greek god and this is the first one to actually be greek themed its beautiful in my opinion and i love the style they are going for. And the inside of buildings is bright and vibrant as all heck with lumen enabled you have these intense reds and these bright yellows mixed with orange and bright whites and when this is done with the inside architecture its so beautiful. Fortnite hasn’t lost its color and vibrancy its just representing a different style to match its current themes.
This is why I actually really like chapter 4s map. It was because it was so colorful. I like chapter 5s map aswell, but way more colour would be nice
One big problem is that epic keeps changing stuff and fixing stuff that it doesn’t need to. One good example is the new UI change.

I've probably played chapter 5 the least out of all Chapters. It just seems off and in my opinion is trying to hard and trying to compete or out do itself but failing to as they forget the basic elements that made Fortnite.

i really do miss the actual storyline being somewhat convoluted but you could follow it, after chapter 2, they just stopped having interesting story challenges and the story got even worse which really sucks, but fortnite is still about playing with the bros
I miss the military theme and the angular, cartoony art style the most.

@@s.m.4479 Hot take, but I initially quit Chapter 1 of Fortnite pretty early on because it was much more boring and had way less to do. That's something I can't say about this season, as we got three new game modes, and also since then, we've had Creative for a few years. I honestly think most players have a nostalgia bias to the older seasons, so they look at them through rose-tinted glasses if you get the analogy.
I think Epic gave up on the story line and are just focusing on collabs. I miss when epic did events.
Also the map just looks depressing for some reason. I miss the looks from the chapter 1, 2, and 3 maps.

I think the reason why C1 S5 is my favorite is the updates. Every time that I'd get home from school, I'd look forward to getting online and seeing if there's anything new. I remember seeing the cube and I was so interested in it. Now it's just hopping onto Fortnite. There's nothing more to it, it's just getting on Fortnite. When we do get an update half the time it's an update I'd never use or see, or I just hate it. Either way I still love Fortnite, it's just that it feels like every match is the same.

I’m personally really enjoying this season but I can understand why people aren’t feeling it. I would definitely like to see more frequent map updates and a more cohesive story, but for me it doesn’t take away that the game is still very fun. Of course the UI, locker, and shops need improving too.

This is due to the LEGO mode of course, most of the reused skins have finished LEGO figures. Just want a little variety, maybe the return of the featured and daily sections

what i dont like about this season is how it overcomplicates fortnite and makes it stressful to play, now you have to worry about multiple things at the same time, weapon attachments, movement items, medallions, snipers, mythics, vaults, etc. all of these you gotta worry about having otherwise there's no way to win the match, on top of that, your playstyle now has to accomodate for pressuring a guy with 3 medallions in their inventory meanwhile they spam multiple boxes so they get all their health back, at the same time hoping you dont get sniped and hear the grapple sound, while nearby there's other people with medallions creating a whole fight in fencing fields and all you have is a green hammer that doesn't have the right attachments.
you now have to worry about mobility beacuse ppl will chase till u die in a terrain thats so open..and the movement makes it awkward to even escape

Not being able to shuffle presets anymore was my biggest turn off. I was able to balance how often I wanted to play as certain skins while giving every skin a chance. Now I can't.
Sorry to burst your bubble on the statement but sweeny doesn't care. Disney will come in and destroy the original DNA of the game, unless we do something about it. And my opinion on what to do is simple. Stop buying skins and stop giving them attention and watch them squirm. Other then that I can already say that chapter 5 is still going to be empty.

For me the BIGGEST issue is the new movement animations. It just completely killed the momentum for me and I just hate how realistic and tactical, yet also bland in some ways it looks. They need to either make it look faster and smoother or just revert it to the original. Second place would have to be the weapon mods. Makes the game not feel like fortnite, makes all the guns feel the same and the whole non-hit scan thing I hate. Third would be the map, this could get better as the chapter goes on but right now it’s missing a lot and there’s to many bosses already for the start of a chapter. Probably one of the most boring seasons yet and I pray things change sooner than later

When chapter 5 first launched, I remember there seemed to be two main changes people were complaining about: the movement, and (more importantly imo) the locker ui. Epic reacted to the movement criticism really quickly and effectively and fixed that in one of the first updates of the season. So WHY am I still dealing with this stupid, inefficient, bland-looking locker? Why can I still not shuffle presets, why are emotes and lobbies not bound to skins in presets, and why do I have different amounts of presets available in every section? I honestly think this season would be a pretty good one in my mind if it weren’t for the locker update, but because that was never fixed I consider this the worst chapter launch we’ve ever had and it’s not even close. Not to mention that the preset cap should have been raised from 100 to at least 200 (if not infinite, I still don’t know why there’s a limit) a LONG time ago. They really dropped the ball with this one.

Chapter 5 takes itself too seriously. One of the main characters is literally a walking banana, the game shouldn’t be trying to be so realistic. Like chapter 5 is fun, I do enjoy it, but it doesn’t feel like Fortnite anymore.
Yeah, peter griffin boss fight was the best part of this update. Too bad his mythic weapon and location were bad, so players were less incentivised to go here. Rest was just generic spy action. And combined with lack of mini events and too stable meta of 3 weapons, it got stale really quickly

I think Fortnite having the game in the OG seasons isn’t the play. Rather bringing that old charm and character back to newer seasons for example the map, I think the map we have now is rather bland it’s all kind of just mansions and villas. But in the old maps the locations had so much character and vibrancy like tilted, loot lake, risky reels. Or the old events like the meteor, cube, tv countdown all building up to the next event, it generate a lot of mystery and excitement. The events now feel more like banal advertisements than anything.
I’d really love a return to form of how epic used to handle the old game rather than just recycling the same og season content.
The problem is that the battle royale player counts are still insanely high, and players haven’t dropped off after the OG season. To epic that just means that this new version of Fortnite is just as successful, and until player interest drops they won’t change anything

In terms of best seasons, I've been an on and off player but I will NEVER forget Chapter 1 Season 10. Introduced me to my favorite skin X-Lord. Its actually really funny, all these cross overs, flashy new skins and all that and yet, just, final upgrade of a season 1 skin is my favorite.

Season started great. I really enjoyed it, but now I have played maybe 1 hr in the last 3 weeks.
Honestly. I played all chaoter 1, I played all of chapter 2, and fortnite lost me for chapter 3 and chapter 4, I came back for fortnite og. Loved it, felt great considering I only played chaoter 1 and 2 anyways, and chapter 5 came along. And I'm still with it. But I do have problems. Some of the items just kinda suck. And the auto shotgun is way too easy to use allowing really bad players to eliminate you just because they made it into your box. The updates haven't been great and the story line seemed at the beginning like it was gonna have a really interesting narrative to tell with peely missing. But we haven't seen any of this happen. As of right now we still just know he's missing. No other info and the season is coming to a close. Also where's the mid season map changes?? Snow melting isn't enough of a change it's the same map still just less white. Where the new poi areas? Why aren't certain things changing with the fight between the underground and society. So far it seems they just keep to themselves and haven't fought? Why aren't some factions loosing their hold on some places? Mythic weapons changing because of this? Like??
Also klarque a guy discovered that they were story quests actually about peely part 1 and 2 but for now they re only visible to new players and they re not on the menu even. So another thing they screw up again. All this season we could have story quests and they never fix it or gave it to us. And the season is almost over. Its like they dont care fixing some stuff too.
Sadly the SBMM destroys the game for me, when i load into the lobby i always want to play BR but i rarely end up playing it just because everytime i do play it i die in the first 1 or 2 fights because everyone is a lot better then me and its this way since chapter 4 saison 1, there is no purpose in playing it if there is 0 chance to win the game or even get a good game with more then 1 or 2 elims.
I don't know what you mean by "winning", but if it is getting 1st place, you have to think, you have a 1/100 chance of winning, and as you say, pepole might be better than you. Saying "nah everyone seems better than me, the game is boring" is to give up early. Rather, try saying "I'll try to get better, but right, now, I'm giving my 100%, if that isn't enough, whatever, ggs".
There's the argument "well I don't play to win, I just play to have fun" but really I don't think someone plays without trying to win.
Also, that thing about "losing the first or second fight in a match", that's something that I realized on another game. This isn't a fighting game, this is a battle royale. The point of the mode is not to make kills, is to survive. Of course you are not just gonna camp and do nothing, that's boring, but like, the game makes up for those spaces to do other things.
After saying that, I will say that maybe, and honestly, this could be an extern thing. I just saw another comment that was saying "the weapons are too broken this season". I don't really know if they are or not because this is my first season playing, but that could absolutely be a possibility. But also, I think it has been some time since they added bots to matches, doesn't they make the matches more easy?

i think Epic Games should not do yearly Island replacements because it's clearly affecting updates we get now, along with completely chop off the LEGO Fortnite mode and let it die because its a complete failure now and barely anyone plays it like everyone did the first week, realized the end goal is shit with it just being to get the final stage of crafting and then abandoned it like i did. i want the story to focus BACK to what it was supposed to because there is clearly some things in it that were entirely forgotten along with not making as many new weapons as old ones and unvaulting random stuff each week with no concern about balance because unbalanced games can be fun as hell. great examples of this is Mario Kart Wii and the original MW2. people LOVE how unbalanced those games are and still enjoy them to this day so putting that in a live service game like Fortnite makes complete sense
also spare the developers from making lego versions of each skin, its absolutely sad how hard it is for them to catch up. the item shop failed to change for 3 weeks because of that until Epic said "fuck it, were gonna put unfinished LEGO versions in the item shop" which is still not being fully done. abandon the terrible LEGO mode and focus the resources on better stuff like that Fallout like story mode and BR/Creative. please Epic

I love chapter 5, personally my second favourite season 1 map, it’s probably had one of the worst starts to a chapter yes, but then we got all these new game modes and over that month it was so much fun, yes content slowed down but epic deserves a break right? Just like most of us get Christmas break. And they spent most of last year making these new game modes and still managed to make chapter 5 good and have dry spots yes but whenever we get content so far it’s been pretty good, from solid snake to TMNT. So imma sit in this dark corner and defend chapter 5

This season is great. Why don't you go to Lavish Lair and take a good look at this castle? Stand on the engine of the train and ride through the whole map. The graphics are unique.
The weapons are ok, the upgrades are a great addition. The bosses are well done, as is the medallion system. The only negative thing about this season was already negative in the last and penultimate season: there is no SBMM. With a fair SBMM, this season would be perfect and could last forever.

The main issue is the censorship. The female skins are all the same skinny body type and conservative clothing with modesty shorts. A far cry from the thicc cleavage skins we used to get in Ch 1.

Four months later and things have just gotten worse. Regardless of the new gameplay mechanics (I actually quite like the current season gameplay-wise), they simply don’t care about their own story anymore. The writing is so lazy, every new story arc introduced is just abandoned, and on top of that, god forbid you get killed in the middle of some cutscene/expository dialogue and have to go look for it on TH-cam because there’s no way to replay it in game.
People seem to forget that videogames are a story telling medium; and Epic simply doesn’t care about their own story anymore; so why should we?

Fortnite is a lot of fun with friends. I play with my old high school friends but since I live in Japan now and some of us have children it makes it virtually impossible to match up.

Outside of playing with my friends I spent way more time on Lego Fortnite than playing solo on zero build. Even then I only played Zero Build long enough to get a quest or two out of the way. Love the TMNT collab though. Ton of free stuff and I get to goof around with the weapons. 🤔

Critics are told “well it’s not for you or you’re an adult so why are you upset about a cartoon?” That is the same as the nostalgic argument. A few days ago I argued why og Fortnite shouldn’t be permanent but I also understand why people miss it so much, chapter 5 isn’t necessarily bad but there’s very few updates and truth be told weapons aren’t playing like they used to. There is no story as of current and as for music concerts are no longer a thing in favor of the festival map, realistically maybe we’ve been spoiled but the lack of creativity even with skins is apparent which is wild considering community skins.

At the end of the day, I think we should look back to what epic said about Chapter 5. It's a new beginning. Everything before hand in fortnite was important, yes. i personally believe this season is very flawed, but good. we got 3 new modes, peter griffin, snake, tmnt is one of the best collabs theyve ever done imo, the anims look amazing, the guns feel very good, my main complaints are that the frenzy shotgun and the snipers are extremely strong, especially in no build, since my friends prefer that, and no build is miserable as it is, and that this UI was an unneeded update. every other big issue was fixed extremely fast, and tbh fort lore isnt interesting to me at all.

I like chapter 5, but I have few issues with the guns, while the sniper feels amazing every other gun feels horrible other than the auto shotgun, it is insane how the auto shotgun does almost as much as the pump with over double the fire rate, and the projectile speed of most guns is just too slow for how fast you can go in the game.

The map is probably the worst ever Imo and my biggest issue. Not only does it look nothing like a fortnite map these pois are horribly designed, they don’t work with the building mechanics at all. Can’t build on roofs of pretty much all the pois, can’t build because random ledge or corner is there or replace any of the walls at ruined reels, there are parts of the map that are literally completely off grid. Mansions like lavish tower over the map and promote a campy playstyle, only 3 pois don’t have henchmen, the warmer biome literally has stretches of nothing for miles
I think they did that for season 1 on purpose, lately there’s been a huge tornado from a molten hand grabbing a chest and it’s been pretty cool

It’s hard to like this chapter. None of the POIs have really landed with me like Tilted Tower, The Agency, Coney Crossroads, and even recently with Mega City. There’s no POI that’s unique and amazing. There’s also the fact that it feels like all of the joy and life from the game was sucked out. The colors are so much darker, with the main colors being dark green, reddish brown, and grey. Chapter 4 had vibrant colors and cartoony graphics, while also keeping realism. Chapter 5’s updates are insanely lackluster too. As you said, one of the main updates of the season added a new skin, a worse Predator mythic, a cardboard box, and a gun that everywhere I go, I see it’s face. The only good update was TMNT but that’s over. The new modes were hyped up so much, which killed them. Lego was good for a week, but wasn’t worth playing, Rocket Racing is Mario Kart but more complicated, and Fortnite Festival is something I’ll only play for an hour.
The chapter is the worst i hope to never see it again
Winterfest was my last straw that was when i stoppe playing chapter 5 i was so disappointed my christmas was already screwed as my mom had gotten covid and I couldnt even enjoy virtual christmas
I really hope that epic makes a battle pass customizable destiny skin with all the armor sets and the photo finish shades with Fortnite original shaders. And I'm really enjoying this season
In absolutely loving this season it has an attachment system and also other fun things like that. Don’t forget that sniping is really fun this season too.

I wish they would have done something cooler with this season battle pass skins, bc all of them are so cool.
But like, only Oscar, Valeria, Hope and Jonsey did something, and only Valeria did something after the arrival of the season, and it sucks becasue they are so cool.
Hopefully the last event of the season is something cooler that involves all of them, and not just Valeria opening the pandora box because, again, only Valeria has been doing something all this season, and even tho the event will be cool, maybe it will just "happen".
I would love that a lobby was assigned to go defeat one member of the society besides valeria, and once all are defeated, you go after Valeria just for her to open the pandora box. This is simple and even cliche but honestly o wish it gets at least somewhat interesting.
I remember when the game was cartoony and fun now it's like call of duty but for kids
I started playing in C3-S1. My favorite was probably C4-S2. I loved the map and aesthetics! That was peak Fortnite for me. I liked Season OG and C3-S3 also. Would love to see a standard Fortnite version of Lego Fortnite.
The chapter 5 map doesn’t feel as fun as the other chapters. The other chapters were more vibrant with color and had more life, but the chapter 5 island is just bland. BUT, season 2 did help the map feel more alive

I played fornite day one release, and left pretty quickly after that. Season 5 brought be back and i absolutely love it. As someone who hasnt experienced anything but the new season, i am genuinely confused as to why these complaints about "muted colours" or boring map that i dont understand. As someone who hasnt seen anything else, i love it all and it feels really great to me
i agree about switching up gamemodes, i almost never play builds but switching to builds and learning how to build makes the game more fun
The one thing i dont like about this chapter is the map feels more split. The map in chapter 3 and 4 had unity, and worked together, but this map just feels like a bunch of mini maps. I miss the blending of the locations and biomes.
I think that chapter 5 is not the worst season objectively but epic needs to upgrade some aspects of chapter 5 in general like the UI, the locker or the weapons balance. They will figure this out trough chapter 5 like for pumps during chapter 4. The graphics are good but it's missing 1 bit of color in general. And last but not least this season is a bit too long and they were more focused on the other modes. Even if chapter 5 doesn't start very well for everybody I still agree that at some point this chapter will be amazing as chapter 2 3 or 4 were in there own way. I feel like this new chapter is been relatively fun. It does have its moments though. The movement on the games does feel better than it first did but if there gonna have us run slower they need to give us unlimited sprint. I find myself tip toeing most of the match because im out of sprint. The attachments were a great idea but should be implemented in the lobby (similar to cod). The reason i say that is because theres not enough mod benches except where the bosses are and nobody is going out of there way to mod there weapon. Ballistic shield (im sure alot would agree) doesnt need to be in the game. BR is still fun for me. Its just at a stale point right now
In chapter 6 they NEED to bring back the old chapter 2 battle pass concept with each level bringing a new reward other than battle stars. They should also bring back the old chapter 2 battle pass menu/lobby, and maybe the shadow vs ghost idea with only having one style available.
See its alot of little things that bother me but it feels like every update BREAKS SOMETHING or changes something that doesn't need to be changed like itemshop, Ui, (i don't like the map) (i don't like most of the weapons) Artstyle, more and more glitches the news tab making my ears bleed the itemshop timer being replaced the bad to non existant story its all the small things that just add up over time(also this is the worst zero build map of all time Yes worse then OG)

the issue for me is the loot pool why the hell does my shotgun either blank or hit 34
The only problem I have is that they kept the stealth weapons but not ninja turtle weapons, now my movement is very mixed up.
Fortnite chapter 5 to me is fortnite is trying to be more like others games (cod, etc.) but it’s still fortnite and the result is a jiggy jumbled mess
