That podrace set is awesome! Great video, nice to see some impressive ROIs coming not only from price appreciation but also from purchasing at great discounts :)
Thanks bud! Yeah, it was hard to give up the podrace set, but at that ROI, I couldn't justify holding on to it any longer! Yeah, it was fun making this video... you inspired me!
I haven’t sold much at all this past year, but did have a nice little run of sales. Tantive, nebulon, 20th slave 1, UCS A wing, Kylo Ren Shuttle for $1K. Then sold UCS Death Star to the same buyer for $1K. A week later, HP great hall and Hogwarts express for $200.
Nice job, those sales are awesome!! Yeah, I hear ya about making more $$ on the sale, but you're right - building customers and great customer service for long term success is the way to go! Thanks for posting your successes. Take care bud!
Use lighter fluid to remove stickers. Apply the light fluid to a paper towel and then lay it over tge stickier for 10 to 15 minutes. After the stickier is soaked you can peel it off.
Haha, love it! I keep trying to convince my wife it's not possible to have too many Lego sets... But then she tells me to take a look at the room where I store them all. 😲🤪
Nice job selling those Star Wars sets locally. I don't even bother locally with large sets and just sell them on eBay, but maybe I should at least post them and see what happens.
Thanks a lot! Yeah, I like to mix it up between local marketplace, eBay, and marketplace shipping. I think I have a pretty good feel where each of my sets will sell best... And I think casting a wider net overall is helpful. Best of luck and take care!
Thanks! typically 2 years, but these were mostly sets I had in my own collection that I decided to sell - I needed to thin the herd 😁 I rarely give up on a set - I typically can find space to hold it for another year or two to see if it starts growing value. I guess after 5 years I'd throw in the towel. Good questions! Take care!
Pretty much no unless it's for my personal collection. On rare occasion I'll buy off eBay (personal collection only). More frequently I'll buy off FB marketplace (usually for my personal collection, but sometimes I catch a great deal where I can buy retired sets for investing - maybe the person has to move and is selling an entire collection!). I do make sure marketplace posts don't look like they "fell off the back of the truck" - some prices are just too good to be true...
I think best we can get on that set is $100 on ebay after fees and shipping, but most likely closer to $90. Since you'll only have one copy of the set, it's probably too much work for that ROI, but it's not terrible. I like to sell multiple copies so that I only have to build 1 advertisement/announcement, and then sell bunches!
Oh my gosh, thank you for being "that guy"!! That is a mistake i would make, haha 🤪 Spelling is another "not a strength" of mine...I'm a numbers guy 😁 I just spent 20 minutes fixing all my current FB marketplace posts. Later bud!
I sold my tantive IV for $320 on ebay and got back $235 for my earnings. My box was so beat up so you would definitely sell it for higher price on ebay.
That's outstanding, nice job! Yeah, you're correct, typically can get more take-home on eBay then local. But on average it's a bit more work too. So for myself to balance ROI and labor time I like to do some locally on marketplace, some shipping on marketplace and some on eBay. Thanks for your comment and take care!
Haha, yeah, we have fun. I think you're right...I could have got more out of 75219😐 oh well, I sold it as a combo to a local buyer...so at least I saved time by selling 2 sets at once!
@@kdxbricksanalytics ha yes there's economy lingo for this i think (that i dont know), you sell in lot, saves time move more stock and upsell the buyer ! The price becomes more understandable if you consider the buyer might not have bought anything at all if he didnt get that one for cheap
Hahaha, I almost edited that out and fixed it, but I figured somebody would make a funny comment, so thanks! 😂 Yeah, pronunciation and enunciation are not my strengths... I'm more of a numbers guy as you can probably figure out from my videos. Glad you liked it, more videos like this soon. Take care bud!
I appreciate the positive response on this video! I will definitely do more like this. I think I sold 10 more sets in the last week or so, so I'll do another one soon!
@@fabriziob969 doesn’t show the progress of input which is how much he paid for the set. It’s a gift set so yes ofc he got a big % of profit but it’s doesn’t make sense to me here due of the video name. I wait for normal retail sets result not GWP sets.
Thanks bud! Oh yeah, I'm always smiling and laughing. Plus, I enjoyed your comment and knew you were having some fun! And I DO like laughing at myself. However, I've always said it's great to be able to laugh at yourself, but best to be able to laugh at others... 🤣
Gratz on the sales! Do you need to pay taxes on your profit, like eg capital gains tax? If that's the case that might eat another 20% away of your profit or so?
Not one of these sets were mentioned in ANY of your investment videos!!... maybe bring up lego sets that you have actually mentioned so we can see if your info is actually credible
Hahaha, this is a fun comment! I saw it hit my email earlier - I've been looking forward to responding to it all day! My TH-cam channel is right at a year old. As you know, from watching all of my videos, the average time I hold a set after it retires is 2 to 3 years. Soooo, mathematically it's not possible for me to show sets I've sold that I've also discussed on my channel. But in a year or so I will! To quote The Office... Michael: "what is the most inspiring thing I ever said to you?" Dwight: "Don't be an idiot, changed my life" Oh, and you may want to check out my video from February 13th.

The at Hauler actually has a great mini fig in the rio Durant which the mold is special and it’s selling for around 70.00 just for that fig.
Great point...maybe I shouldn't have sold it. 🤔 Hahaha

Great tip! I will try that next time, thanks!
Love the video and it gives me plenty of motivation to continue the grind!
Awesome, that's great. All the best of luck!
I think your wife and mine have recently spoken...was told too it was time to thin the herd! That Hauler looked pretty cool though.

Thanks my friend! I always appreciate your support. Take it easy.
Where are you selling at online?
Marketplace shipping and some eBay. I like to mix it up!
Good job on selling them! That was a fabuloustic vid! lol
Haha, awesome thanks!! Yeah, I had fun with this one. Take care Will!
Great profit. What is your average hold time? I don't have much room. When do you give up and just sell to get your money back?

Entering an investment is always easy... it's the exiting part that is hard.
Haha, that's the darn truth. I find that it's exciting to buy, but work to sell. And then it's hard to let some of them go too!
Do you ever buy retired legos? if so where do you buy?

I like it, I need to get my but to trying to sell some lol
Haha, thanks!
Great video! Do your purchase prices include taxes? Thanks.
Generally yes. I round to whole numbers just to make the table and math simple. I think it's close enough for my ROI calculations!
Finally, a video that shows what actually happened vs. speculation. Loved it! Please do more of the same!
Hey Josh...thanks a lot and I agree. I'll definitely be doing more just like this!

Yeah but he still sold them so it makes sense to show how much it sold them for, in my opinion
