    Very good tip! I live very close to a legoland discovery center and when I saw the colosseum sold out, like you, I panicked! I went the next day to check if they have it bc normally they sell sold out lego's there for a month or two after it sells out. But long story short they didn't have any, but I was surprised to see they had 2 camp nou's in stock. I'm guessing some other investors also had the same idea to check legoland because I don't know who would buy the colosseum there (at my discovery center, it's mostly just families buying small lego's for their kids, not people buying millennium falcons and colosseums and those kinds of legos). I remember they had a star destroyer there in march or something when it had sold out last november. I hope I can find some for a good price at some point bc I think they will be a great investment.

    To just mention what the list price on Ebay is seems foolish. The only sets that have SOLD for over $1000 are from China and Japan with huge shipping cost.
    All your original points remain valid. IMO!

    • @JakesBricks
      @JakesBricks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will absolutely come back and correct myself and I still have a fear it could come back in stock. And I agree I never go based on list price. Looks like the ones that have sold in the US are in the 800-900 range with shipping costs added. Also those shipping costs are absolutely crazy to China and Japan or vis versa. I believe this set only just went out of stock 5-6 days ago so I will be monitoring it closely.

    Jake, Colosseum 10276 is available in Lego stores all around the Europe for regular 549,99eur. It's not even on "last chance" yet..... Ebay prices like 1.000usd for not retired set are nonsense. What idiot (that you sold your sets to) is paying that amount for? Lego investing is beginning to be like blockchain coins / Ponzi scheme with no real value behind it and betting on you'll not be the last one in the chain...

      Ya the "Last Chance" tag is limited to certain countries but it is definitely retiring. Here is why I would imagine someone paid me over retail for these sets. Let's say here in the US this set is actually retired and no other stock is to be found. I wouldn't imagine it will go down in value so now could actually be your best chance to get it "cheap." Certainly won't be available near retail if that reality ends up being true. But we will see

      @JakesBricks because all the facts about it do not change. We don't know how much stock lego had. The fact that it's out of stock doesn't necessarily mean that people started buying it out of nowhere. It may mean that lego didn't bother to make more sets of it because it didn't sell well. I'm not that experienced in lego investing. I'm not saying that this is what happens, It's just a thought. I wouldn't buy it personally cause I'm not investing in expensive sets anyway.
