Trivia: At 21:12 the car is driving north on North Poinsettia Place in Hollywood. They then turn into one of the gates for Ziv Studios (where the TV series was filmed). 60 years later, those two houses at the end of Poinsettia Place at 21:12 still exist.

When I complained to him that the calls he was giving me were short trips with small or zero tips, he told me up front that I was still living at my parent's house and didn't need the money as much as the older cabbies who had rent or a mortgage to pay and a family to support.

Lol stealing the rotor button out of the distributor. 20 Years or so ago had a guest at the house with a bit too much to drink so I took his coil wire off and placed it in my desk; heard him try to start car and no luck, heard hood pop and a few minutes later Vroom and off he went... Huh? He took the plug wire off #1 cylinder and used it as the coil wire and drove home on 7 cylinders! Nowadays I'd pull the fuel pump or ECM relay but still easy enough to swap in the horn relay or something if the driver has enough sense/motivation.

When a HWP episode starts off with a shot of a beautiful looking 1953 Mercury you know that its going to be a good episode, and this one sure was with a great plot and suspenseful throughout. I noticed that they did not show either the cab driver getting shot or someone finding his body, I guess they felt that it would be a little bit too realistic for the audience to watch back then. Innocent people though did occasionally get killed on that show.

Even if there were black or brown businessmen, doctors, cops, military, etc., TV only showed them in menial occupations. Then, the public watches TV and thinks that's all they can do. It's not true, but the TV and movie industry thinks that, so perceptions never change. And that is known as a stereotype.
