As a small business owner. I do holiday cards during Christmas time so my customers don't forget me when spring rush starts up. It works and many customers thank me for the kind words during the winter season. Thanks Mike for sharing this video.
Bro. 8 years in industry. I'm making less by 60k this year. But turnover is more Burnout is killer. Seriously mike come on holiday to new zealand. I will pay. F burn out. I want that vigor
He needs to up sell carpet protection (scotchguard, Teflon) pet treatment, airduct cleaning, upholstery, carpet repair each job. I averaged $550 a clean and did it from 19 till 41. My body just can't do it anymore. So the most important thing is setup a retirement account!
This guy reminds me a lot of myself, I watched mikes videos and told myself I could do it, implementing what Mike has preaches has changed my life, 2 trucks and over 100+ monthly retaining customers and growing… if ppl listened to Mike they can change there life. Btw $0 in marketing, no website no Facebook adds BS Hard work and mouth to mouth pays off over the long run
Just look at your service offering as a menu. A customer can get a plain cheeseburger off the dollar menu or they can get a fully loaded Big Mac. Ohhhh.... by the way, would they like fries and a shake with that? Maybe super-size it? There's nothing scummy about offering people a choice. In fact, as a customer, I prefer more choice.
These videos have helped my businesses tremendously! You have no idea! Do you have a video on the office & admin side of things for lawn care? We are looking to hire our 1st office staff thanks to you.
1. Not going the hot water extraction route hobbles the common transition into doing low level water damage restoration. 2. Deodorizer is a common upsell in the industry, like all across the carper cleaning industry 3. Offering tiered services is common to battle price shoppers 4. Giving first time customer discounts for move out cleans (any language like that is poison) 5. Commerial/Industrial is a different industry different pricing 6. Hard service adjacent services like marble, tile, concrete etc if you are willing to put in the time to learn 7. Common additional services: carpet repair, carpet dying, area rugs, upholstery, scotchguard etc so much to work with 8. I can look at an in your van and tell you guys are newbies who don't know what is going on yet 9. Get a mentor or actually study the industry, good luck out there
Love the videos Mike. Just a thought.. your team should think about putting “business turnaround” in the thumbnail. Think it would help garner more views.
I’ve built my business strictly through Nextdoor and facebook. As our first year is wrapping up I feel it’s slowing down so may need to start spending on advertising. Not that I want
Spraying all that soap and just used a spinning towel to extract all that soap 🥺😬😬. You need to extract all the soap and the dirt from the carpet. A spinning towel doesn't clean it all the way. You need a strong portable or truckmount to clean after you scrubbed it! ❤
MIke If he needs more industry-specific help to increase his business. I have owned a carpet cleaning company since 2008 I see several fixes just from the video. Just let me know.
Hey Mike not sure if you done it already.. but if not it would be cool to see you work with a business that’s just starting and show them how to market with little money and show them how to get customers and show them what systems to use and stuff..that would be cool to see … cause a lot of your videos at least that I see are business that are making tons of money and business that have a customer base already..and a lot of people are just not at the level yet and need a lot of help going from the starting point to at least their first 100k in the business
Or going to lawn Care my next door neighbor 21 years old I think he pulled into 200,000 maybe more one year into it he only has two employees and they use their own vehicle and all he does is put out flyers all day and sell the lawn care and it's about the big jobs
Mike, I’ve been binging your content for the past 2 weeks and I have to say these turnaround videos are scaring me out of starting my own business. It’s seems everyone is failing.
Gotta push through the failure! It’s like a video game, every level of business there is a battle. Call it a boss battle. If you beat that “boss” you advance to the next level of business. It happens at every level. You only fail if you quit. I won’t let any “boss” beat me. I will just keep coming at that problem from different angles until I beat it. I run a plumbing company. My last boss battle was “dealing with trying to keep up with demand” I found I just couldn’t do it with two vans on the road. The answer, I bought a 3rd van and hired another licensed guy.
And repeat yearly business is such a small percent you're so much better off in Windows putting flyers out or higher sales person that goes door to door and give them 40% of what they bring in jobs cost you technically nothing

As a small business owner, I can tell you, every company needs a Justin! Worth his weight in gold.

How do you find the companies that need your help?

I find that the carpet business is dying due to vinyl plank
🤔

AWESOME video! They should do PET WASTE REMOVAL too- easy 6 figures
That would be cool! 😎

get of the internet, internet is junk, go to local newspaper and run a fall out ad, you get homeowners only and most are older!!!!!
What’s a fall out ad?

It's all about the funnel😊
You need a truck mount vlm sucks
Just such a bad business...carpets....all cists hate u cause there's toooo many bad ones
Horrible business carpet....only for shifty upseller...non recurring....cut lawns....make 4k a week
I make 150 Grand a year with a crb and I tell all the customers that steam cleaning causes mold. Then I show them an AI report that says that it does
If you need money right now, starting a business is not the best move. You can always work on a business on the side of a full time job.
When are you going to teach us about the filter😊. You know how you get to keep more of your money
