If anyone uses McCormick spices. My hubby has suffered for years with migraines. Turned out he has an allergy to MSG. Changed spice brands and it really helped.

When I was in 2nd grade my dad was stationed in Heidelberg Germany. We lived on the "economy" in a village named Sandhausen We put our shoes out for St. Nick and got little cakes and candy in them. I know it was my momma but. It was very neat at the time.
I cook a lot at home & it drives me crazy when I make dishes for dinner. Example: It now takes 3-4 cans of green beans to make a green bean casserole instead of 2. Making cupcakes - used to make 15 - now you’re lucky to get 9 or 12. I went back to a scratch recipe from my Moms that makes a full 15 cupcakes that fit my 15 cup pan . I’d rather pay the higher price & make my decisions accordingly
I went to Aldi yesterday with my sis. It had been awhile since I last visited the store, and was shocked at the price increases on everything. Couldn't buy everything I wanted to get. Had to be very choosy. Never had to do that in an Aldi store before. I could go in and leave with a full cart and no anxieties of spending too much. I miss those days. God bless from Oklahoma.
I thank you and Jess for your videos. Your Christmas decorations were beautiful! ❤️ You have formed an online community and we know there are lots of us going through this together. Best purchase I have made is a food saver vacuum sealer. I've stocked up on coffee beans and sealed them in smaller packets for grinding fresh coffee. Beans stay fresh longer than ground coffee. Remember: We can get through anything when we know it's temporary.
Folgers 40 oz is $16.24 at Walmart. Great Value 40 oz is $12.46. I guess we are drinking great value coffee. Folgers is getting too expensive. It is hard to stock up when all the food prices, pet food prices, rent, and and utilities have increased so much. It is going to be a small but happy Christmas this year with the kids.
I bought same size Foldgers for around $9.75 yesterday at CREST FOODS. I had went to Aldi but their coffee was too expensive. CREST also had Starbucks coffee on sale in the whole bean form. It was a good deal for me. God bless from Oklahoma.
If you shop at Publix, here's what they are doing: portobello mushrooms for $4.41 now consist of half the amount... but still the same price. This example is true of most of their produce. My produce now comes from a grocer with lower produce prices, since 75% of my daily diet are veggies and legumes. Publix is no longer getting my business!
Publix is insanely over priced! Whole Foods is less expensive than Publix in my area. I quit shopping there two years ago. I only go in there if I can't find a particular item anywhere else, but that's rare
Walking the cereal aisle with the grands, as I usually do buy them cereal. My youngest said gram, look at these boxes. If you have not seen the skinny cereal box, it was a surprise to the kids. She likes to have raisin bran on the shelf and brother is always happy with shredded wheat. I try to get them cereal on sale and maybe a pop tart for snacks after school or a quick meal. We do not often buy chips, but she was getting some for a requested gift. Gram I found some chips on sale so can I go ahead and shop. It sure is a sad day when unsweet cereal is luxury.

Hi Frank😀now that i'm 67 years old I don't celebrate any more and being on a budget is just to much work for me now but I do have a Christmas wreath hanging up outside tho, that's about it . I ordered ham but its not the Smithfield ham that they have on sale, last one I bought was terrible, so no more we will be getting a Kroger order delivered tomorrow. thank you Danno and Jess for all your hard work and fun things you get to do .😘
Hi Danno, I wish all the can items especially the vegetables (can & frozen) could have just stayed at 16oz especially the Libbys Pumpkin.😮 Everyone in my family thinks my pie is a little creamier now 😅 7.0 is a very strong earthquake that Northern CA had yesterday! I live down in southern CA all my life and the one I experienced back in 1971 which was a 6.something broke nearly all our kitchen glassware and southwestern pottery off our mantles and cracks all over our ceiling & walls. We had just built our custom house four years prior. So many aftershocks for several months before settling down... I'm always prepared with water and food in case we lose out utilites for awhile when the big one hits my area 😮
I understand that Kroger is the only store with digital deals on coffee in my area, and I appreciate that. But...the digital deals are now what the every day price of the coffee was two years ago.
Went to Winn Dixie last night. The turkeys that were 49 cents a pound last week before Thanksgiving we're now put in a different freezer case in our 99 cents a pound. The sweet potatoes that were 37 cents a pound are now 99 cents a pound and all the picanha, tenderloins and other beef were increased in price as well. They basically only had low-level chicken and pork for reasonable prices

Great value sells sliced sharp cheddar cheese slices in the pkg.. meat cheese section' On tuna fish subs it's excellent " melted" . We eat the left over pizza in the next day or so..
Thanks, Danno! I was at Krogers yesterday for the 4 times fuel points! Right now I'm doing a lot of Christmas baking, so looking for deals on flour, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, etc. so if you see any low prices please let us know. And yes, I grabbed a can of Maxwell House. Gotta have it.....

Many countries have their children receive their PRESENT (1) on St.Nicholas' Day and then Christmas is simply a religious and family celebration. Shrinkflation is getting worse and worse. I am stocked. The HUsband cannot turn down a clearance on coffee, but we are skipping this sale on Kroger's.I have a lot and only use it to mix with some of the really strong flavors he has picked up, like the Dunkin Strawberry he bought about 12 of, or the coconut(which I would not serve to you!); we have about 6 of those. More will be processed, with the 'bargain' 60ct being $19.29 at Kroger and 3 cents cheaper at the Walmart here. We've been eating a LOT of chicken and not beef.
The story of St Nicholas I know is that there was a man with 3 daughters who couldn’t afford dowries for them, therefore the girls would have to live a life of sin. So St Nicholas visited their home one night and tossed gold coins in the window to provide their dowries so they could marry respectable husbands, and be saved from that lifestyle. This is why many people give gold coins in stockings (chocolate coins, but it is the meaning behind it)

I don’t mean this in a rude way, but if you still buy starbucks/folgers/branded items and even McCormick brand spices.. you don’t “pinch pennies all year.” It’s couponing at best, but it’s not frugal. Even you buying del monte brand canned vegetables, no way frugal people would waste the money on that compared to generic cost. Especially not as a “penny pincher” or someone who wants the BEST deal.
is that really true though? A frugal person isn’t going to waste money purchasing something they won’t eat, either. So people do get a certain brand often enough, especially when it’s on sale because getting the store brand would waste food if they hate it. Frugality doesn’t mean you have to eat the crap and cheapest tasting foods. It can mean you find the best deal on the foods you and your family DO like better and not wasting the food that you buy.
@ a frugal person will eat what they have or go without. Buying your favorite brand because it tastes a lil better is a luxury. Majority of people can’t tell the difference in a blind taste test with most grocery items, especially now that brands are using cheaper ingredients.
