Near me some of the grocery stores are ripping people off in the "clearance section." Seeing vitamins selling for $15 on clearance and seeing them cheaper than that elsewhere. That's why it's so important to price compare like you show in your videos.
I noticed that too, last week though I found vootman cookies on clearance because they were fall shapes like pumpkins and leaves 1.69 at the register they rang up at .30 Never know what you're going to get. Lol😊
I have been watching you for over a year and I just want to say I love the little clips you put in from movies and tv, I am sure it's a lot of work for a punchline, but I just wanted to say, they are worth it! I am 43 and the cultural references are "chef's kiss!" LOL
My sister and I just celebrated our birthday, we're twins, by shopping for clothes, eating at a new to us restaurant. We also hit two grocery stores, Aldi's and Publix for for the items we prefer to buy there and the thing on sale. And each year Publix sends us a free cake coupon for our birthday. Then on Sunday we hit up the local stores here in town for their sales. It was a great day.
Since we lack "discount grocery" stores near me, I still shop the Kroger discount bins... the manager's special meats, the must sell dairy, and the clearance section for everything else. Last Friday I found four, 6 ounce DeLallo pepperoni bags, marked down to $1.40 a bag (from 3.99). The best buy date was January, so I got all four. We'll eat them. Occasionally I'll find marked down bags of lettuce, but not as often as I want. :)
We have a killer local discount store in my little town. A ton of organic over the last year too… I’m guessing because people can’t afford it in the regular stores! I just meal plan around what I can buy and stock up on solely from this store now. I’m feeding a hungry family of 5 on $100 a week!!!!
I buy pork loin on sale and cut it into pork steaks and pork cubes. I use the cubes for sweet and sour pork and the steaks are wonder BBQed and not fatty. It really doesn’t take long and then vacuum seal in portions for our family. Thank you for your wonderful channel!
I saw another utuber who said their Kroger had eggs for 1.99 a dozen. If your Kroger had them for 1.99, not surprising there was a big hole in the eggs
Jewel (Albertsons owned) has been a savor to me these last couple months. They have amazing coupons on their app. 99 cent blueberries, blackberries, tomatoes, baby carrots almost every week. This week they had 99cent a pound chicken (up to 10 pounds) and $4.99/pound chuck roasts. I definitely stocked up. I break the 4 pound chuck roasts into thirds to freeze. Then use them in my crockpot once a week with beef broth and veggies. That shredded beef is good for at least 5-6 meals. Been a life saver on saving time and money!
I do 98% of my grocery shopping at our discount grocery outlet owned by the amish n Mennonite here in Central,Pa! I couldnt imagine having to shop at a normal grocery store! Im in shock of sticker prices at a normal grocery storre! We do all our own meat processing ourselves n i grow alot of my own vegetables in my garden!
I grew up in a coupon family, so your videos feel so nostalgic to me. ❤ For me, I finally had to admit I don't have the time or energy to keep up with shopping this way. Once a week grocery pickup from aldi is the crossroads of cost and time efficiency for me right now. But I dream of shopping this way again someday!
I went into a discount store last week. They had BUILT BARS and Barbells protien bars for .50 each! I snatched those up. For $20 im pretty sure im set on protein bars till Spring!! A HUGE amount saved, for sure!
I too shop the markdowns just as my mom did. I love to buy the seasonal candy to repurpose for example I bought 8 bags of red and green baking chips for like .50 a bag then separated the chips for valentine and st patty cookies
I wanted to say thank you for that pork loin recipe.. I tried it today and the whole family loved it! Also wanted to say thank you for your videos, I've learned so much about frugal grocery shopping and living from you!! 😊
Heh... because of following your philosophy and guidelines, I saved some and I am going to Milan Italy this Saturday. All luxury in one place... clothing brands, supercars, architecture, museums with original Michelangelo paintings... (like Last Supper... 5€ entrance). It works! 💝
I’ve notice every late summer/early fall pork is extremely cheap, for like 3 weeks ALDI had pork butt roasts for 1.99/lb. We’re stocked on pork roasts. Look for different brands of bacon to be on sale at this time too.
After the housing payment food is usually the most expensive bill. We eat often too. 3x a day sometimes 6. If you don't have a set budget you should for that expense. Grocery budget. Review the sales and go to your store with sales ad and list.
We have a discount store in the next town over which sells everything including a few canned and packaged food items. I shop there now and then. Over a hour away is a food discount store which I try to go to now and then. I also look for clearance first thing when shopping at my local grocery stores. Thanks to you, I have saved alot of money by purchasing clearance items
I've started checking out the reduced meat. Monday after Thanksgiving was awesome. Also have gotten skim milk $1.30 a gallon twice recently. I freeze it in jars since it would take way too long to drink that much 😊 Both times there was at least 7 days before best buy date
1. Cut your palette down 2. Make it yourself It is work though but you can hone in on specialties where it becomes muscle memory. That gives you room to splurge on a fancy schmancy ingredient too.
OOf... Colorado passed a law that just went into effect that all eggs have to come from cage free chickens...so 1) there is a "shortage" while the switchover happens and 2) eggs, even at Walmart are $4.50+ a dozen now...
I go to the stores, and struggle to find the sale stickers. Occasionally I find a good deal on meat, but mostly buy local meat from farms I have a good relationship with. Love the content and find myself binge watching. ❤
That rice is also a “sushi rice”. I started making my own sushi for over a year and they come out so much cheaper and fresh. And it’s really easy to make.
We go out to live music all the time! It used to be a vodka soda, tall with a lime. Now I skip the vodka, just soda water with a lime. Or lemon. Maybe both😂
I shop in either aldi or Lydl Much cheaper than shop rite. When I lived in florida I also shopped in Walmart neighborhood. Publix was way to high for me
I’m consistently amazed at the quantity of markdowns your Kroger has! I can guarantee that doesn’t happen at all of them. Maybe it’s because you live in a smaller market. Here in Dallas, that many reduced prices stickers are not to be found.
I just tried the Grocery Outlet in my area again. Unfortunately, they are not that cheap here on groceries that I need. So frustrating! I want to like it, but most items were more expensive than I pay at Winco. I did get frozen organic fruit for the same price as Costco, and a couple of chobani flips for a good deal, but overall. It was a bust. It must be a California thing, because I see the great deals on TH-cam in other states. Well, I'm grateful we have Winco here, and it definitely saves my grocery budget.
CA grocery outlets are individually owned. They used to have great deals 20+ years ago. Ive found the same, they routinely sell things for more than at Safeway. 😢
@@Idontwantachannel67 thanks for letting me know that. I'll check out the 2 other ones in my town before I give up on them. Hopefully, I'll find better deals.
I love going to local bars to see live bands. I use to go often. Friends would meet me there. I would get one beer maybe two or if they had specials on mixed drinks I would get one. But I haven't been out in a while.
The Mennonite discount store near me has great deals. I just purchased a pound of butter for $2.49. The stock rotates and you can purchase in case lots. I SPEND $25 A VISIT. WHICH IS EQUAL TO FIFTY SOMEWHERE ELSE.
news confirmed that whiners aren't cooking, or price hunting. They are just looking up what is high priced. California is on umpteeth bird flu, and entire farms are killed off, and offline until they sanitize, etc. You are the best. I knew that before the news complained. Other than adding than adding tofu, hardboiled, powdered and veggies to scrambled, where are more eggs? I like it cream cheese. Mmmm Love it.
I’ve been loving to check our local Kroger (it’s one of the stores of your second one that you went to) and sometimes I can find great deals there! The one time there were free range organic eggs for $1.07! 😳 I scooped up all of them.
I am so jealous of those that have discount stores nearby! I live in the middle of no where and cannot find any!! I want to know how much that Cup4Cup bag of flour is. I use that brand for my GF baking because I have Celiac's. It is normally about $17.50!!!
Wow, I can’t believe milk costs so much at your Kroger store! The regular price at Kroger here in Michigan is $2.99 per gallon and it often goes on sale for much less. It was recently on sale for $1.99. I’ve never seen milk on clearance at my Kroger store, but I have found lots of good clearance prices in the meat department.
My buddy makes good like good money. He always shopped walmart/discount stores. Started dating his current gf, she makes nothing, but now has him going to Wholefoods, at least partially, because she likes to be seen there....
The only GREAT clearance item I found [but did not buy lol] in my Kroger's actual Clearance isle was Marmite marked down to $0.70--maybe Kroger, Americans in rural Ohio just do NOT know what Marmite is or, they do, and know it's gross? Really, just because you CAN stock it doesn't mean you should! lol
My best advice? Plan your menu around what's on sale in the flyers, and KNOW your prices.

I love these too. The Austin Powers clip was SO funny!
. I was coming on to say the same thing. Lol

Please do a video like: Extreme Grocery Budget Haul for people with IBS. I cannot eat beans or hot and spicy food because of this condition.
Buy ingredients and cook from scratch at home is a great strategy. Healthier too.
We have a killer local discount store in my little town. A ton of organic over the last year too… I’m guessing because people can’t afford it in the regular stores! I just meal plan around what I can buy and stock up on solely from this store now. I’m feeding a hungry family of 5 on $100 a week!!!!
Wow! You are rocking it. 😊
LOL!!!!!!!! When I google discount grocery stores near me here in SE Florida, all I get is Sprouts, Aldi, Walmart and Publix. If ya know, ya know.
I buy pork loin on sale and cut it into pork steaks and pork cubes. I use the cubes for sweet and sour pork and the steaks are wonder BBQed and not fatty. It really doesn’t take long and then vacuum seal in portions for our family.
Thank you for your wonderful channel!
I use it for stir fry too, so good. I also marinate in Mojo, make Cuban style black beans. Serve it over rice and top with chimichurri, yum.
I’ve never lived anywhere near a discount store but I love to watch your discount finds.
Same 😢
Same
I saw another utuber who said their Kroger had eggs for 1.99 a dozen. If your Kroger had them for 1.99, not surprising there was a big hole in the eggs
Same we don’t have any big lots or any and Walmart is 50 miles away .
I felt this

😊 The best way to save money in discount stores and the like is to buy basic ingredients and cook yourself (and learn to cook!).
It is. But please keep in mind that not everyone has a stove or oven and the physical ability to cook for themselves.
I do 98% of my grocery shopping at our discount grocery outlet owned by the amish n Mennonite here in Central,Pa! I couldnt imagine having to shop at a normal grocery store! Im in shock of sticker prices at a normal grocery storre!

That is what we do but in a different state
I grew up in a coupon family, so your videos feel so nostalgic to me. ❤ For me, I finally had to admit I don't have the time or energy to keep up with shopping this way. Once a week grocery pickup from aldi is the crossroads of cost and time efficiency for me right now.

Couponing is very time consuming! I do ok with what little I find with coupons at Kroger but regular couponing is a no for me
I went into a discount store last week. They had BUILT BARS and Barbells protien bars for .50 each! I snatched those up. For $20 im pretty sure im set on protein bars till Spring!! A HUGE amount saved, for sure!

Thanks for info on local pantries that has help us out tremendously
I love shopping at Savage grocery stores! Getting items at more than 50% is a win! The Amish stores near me are the best!
I’ve notice every late summer/early fall pork is extremely cheap, for like 3 weeks ALDI had pork butt roasts for 1.99/lb. We’re stocked on pork roasts. Look for different brands of bacon to be on sale at this time too.

Took advantage of the pineapple sale too! Waited for them to ripen and canned them into chunks. Got 14 pints! Supper cheep canning haul!

I once tried a can of corn that was.....4 YEARS pass the 'best buy" date. It was fine!!!!!
It’s like Christmas, stuff ide never buy, bc of prices I’ll buy bc of the discounts!!
OOf... Colorado passed a law that just went into effect that all eggs have to come from cage free chickens...so 1) there is a "shortage" while the switchover happens and 2) eggs, even at Walmart are $4.50+ a dozen now...
The discount store in my area. Has its prices even higher than the regular stores. You just have to really think about what you are buying.
You are so fun to watch!
Save the pennies for reduced (after) Christmas unsold seasonal goodies.
People watching is hilarious 😂
Me and my husband do that once in a while, time permitting. Man the things people do!! 😅😊
Hello from Kentucky USA 🇺🇸
Thanks for the pork recipe. I just picked up a roast from Aldi for $1.99 and wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it. Now I know!!!
I loved Jackson Hole too! Thanks for sharing! I love your channel and Ive got some clearance naan in my freezer 😂
My birthday is coming up next month and you have given me some great ideas!
Also, I am loving your darker hair! It suits you!
Ginger beer is so yummy. I've never tried it with lime though. I think I will now. Thanks for the idea.
Just went with some old coworkers to a 50’s style diner and we listened to a live band that played Surf Music! Was a fun way to catch up!!
I go to the stores, and struggle to find the sale stickers. Occasionally I find a good deal on meat, but mostly buy local meat from farms I have a good relationship with. Love the content and find myself binge watching. ❤

I have frozen yogurt. It thawed fine... just stir it up a bit more.
Clearance NAN
"That would be shellfish." 😄
We go out to live music all the time! It used to be a vodka soda, tall with a lime. Now I skip the vodka, just soda water with a lime. Or lemon. Maybe both😂
A haul and a recipe, all in one video!
8:00 on, the Donnie Iris playing in the background made me LOL. Probably just aged myself. 🤷♀️😂😂😂
Love Donnie Iris! lol
@ me too! He’s from where I grew up.
Wish I could go to that store!! Saw several things would buy. Dang.
Thanks for sharing!
I had no idea there was a discount store about 30 minutes away until you told me to look it up and i did! Lmao. Thank You!!!
You really find a tv or movie clip for everything 😂
Happy belated birthday!
Margaritas! And live country music is the best!
Wow, wish I had a discount store near me! I do look for clearance items all the time. I've found some good stuff.
We have two discount stores by us (and by that I mean within an hour of us) that have great deals.
I shop in either aldi or Lydl Much cheaper than shop rite. When I lived in florida I also shopped in Walmart neighborhood. Publix was way to high for me

Same here in Albuquerque, NM; can get 'em sometimes, but never at that volume.
Same in the Memphis, TN area. With the bad economy, many markdowns go to the store employees 1st. I don't begrudge them. It's their only job "perk".
I just tried the Grocery Outlet in my area again. Unfortunately, they are not that cheap here on groceries that I need. So frustrating! Love seeing the prices. Fun to compare vs CDN $ .
Shellfish….live for the puns…❤️great video 💥
I found a discount store in my area, it is amazing!! Finding stuff that’s like 90 percent off!!!
That milled flax seed is good to add to homemade dog treats.
I’ve had those black eyed peas you picked up. They were delicious!!!!
I would love a place like this! I live in a pretty big city and I didn't find anything like that near me. ,😢
We took a trip to Jackson Hole in June of 2020. We LOVED it. Highly recommend. Although we had our teenage daughter with us so we skipped the bars 😂
I love going to local bars to see live bands. I use to go often. Friends would meet me there. I would get one beer maybe two or if they had specials on mixed drinks I would get one. But I haven't been out in a while.

I got clearance Naan last week, AND it was a digital deal naan long ago. 🙌
My area does not have any of these discount grocery kinds of stores. I have searched every way I know how. So disappointing!!

Great stuff
Smiths has great deals if you’re like me and don’t live near a discount grocery store.
Love the discounts!
So glad you got a wonderful birthday trip ! You’re going to love empty nesting ! 😂❤

I haven't seen $1.99 milk in YEARS!
4.38$ in Arkansas. Crazy!!
I do need to go to grocery outlet, it’s been a minute
I sure wish we had your prices on our groceries. Even from a regular store. Prices in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 are crazy..
Shirley Temple is my go to when I want a nonalcoholic drink. It is a white soda and something cherry. Live music is not my thing though.
Great video
Garlic & Butter wings, NO PARM. Cherry Vanilla Bourbon and Coke, and Country music would be a great night.
I live in Duluth mn. I googled discount stores and there aren’t any in my city unfortunately
My buddy makes good like good money. He always shopped walmart/discount stores. Started dating his current gf, she makes nothing, but now has him going to Wholefoods, at least partially, because she likes to be seen there....
I live in the Detroit area and I’ve searched for salvage stores. The closest one is over an hour away and it has very limited hours. 😢
Unfortunately, not all over the US. None in Alaska :(
Hi unfortunately here in Greece we don't have discounts stores. Give us some tips on how we could save without great prices
Your right people watch it's funny they spend their money lol I save money lol
I live in MA and we have no real salvage or discount grocery stores. It's just what it is.
My grocery store doesn’t reduce stuff
The only GREAT clearance item I found [but did not buy lol] in my Kroger's actual Clearance isle was Marmite marked down to $0.70--maybe Kroger, Americans in rural Ohio just do NOT know what Marmite is or, they do, and know it's gross? Ralph's have the great ark downs
My Kroger is the opposite of yours- I find tons of deli deals and very few meat deals *womp womp*
Anyone know of any discount grocery stores in CT?? 😊
What does milk cost on regular?
I would try this discount store but we don't have any in our area.
Always looking for deals marked down
Wish I had a discount store near me
