the best detailed video i have found to my next project. THANK YOU !!!!!!
It's 3 bolts right? The bottom right one goes to the alternator when I looked at my car. Same set up in this video 😅
Thank you so much. Keep up the good work!!
Subscribed to see car flips need more of that
More will come homie!
You make looks easy bro
Keep up the good work
It was not as easy as the videos make it look haha. I still drop tools in the engine bay and all that haha
Great to see you recovered the channel! Regarding this repair the Car Wizard is sure overcharging for this job! $600 to replace this $3 part.

That's absurdddddd
@@drwisniewski bmws are not terrible to work on rly. Peole just to complain haha
Car wizard likes to explain to people why he has to charge so much for different jobs.
@@BuddysDIY No. Absurdddddd is $1226.31. That's what the dealership wants. It's really scary how easy you made this look.
Did you pinch coolant hoses, or drain oil before hand?
Hi buddy good you are back
Thank you brother!
Can i use same bolt
1. Do need to drain any oil or coolant to service this housing?
2. Could this housing be leaking from the gasket because my filter was accumulating too much oil because I didn’t do an oil change in time ?
You didn’t flush the anti freeze ?
Great video. But the electrical connector tab is supposed to be pushed down.
Its recommended to use new bolts as they stretch once loosened. Also they should be tighten to 22nm
I know this much. Mine is good all these months later haha
did you have to drain the oil before doing this?
The same question that I have...
@@SRK-VENT I ended up doing it myself, i just did an oil change along with it instead of finding out the hard way lol
You might want to mention NOT to use a self ratcheting wrench on bolt 3. It's lodged and I can't get it free or continue removing the bolt. NOW WHAT?
Lift the oil filter housing while screwing bolt in or out.
You accidentally took an alternator bolt off. Those bolts are aluminum and one time use stretch to yield bolts. You’re lucky it didn’t snap when you impacted it. Really enjoyed your car flipping videos
I'm surprised there was no mention that you must drain the coolant beforehand, and refill and bleed the cooling system afterward!
Why? Is this something that is a must? I don't know myself but I am going to have to do this job. What happens if you don't drain, refill and bleed?
@@seancollett6 the are 2 passages through the housing, oil and coolant. Notice a radiator hose connects to the housing? Coolant goes through it into the block. If you don’t drain it, it will drain itself when you pop the housing off and possibly contaminate your outlet in the process as the passages are next to each other.
What about this video? th-cam.com/video/IiYHPnWF-jY/w-d-xo.html
I don't have nearly as bad of a leak as this one but I'm a bit intimidated by trying this job. I have a 328i SULEV from 2011. I'm usually pretty handy but I understand that the bolts are aluminum and can snap off? Do I really need to drain the oil and coolant?
Quality is not good as chrisfix video. Keep improving bro😊
