    I've always been a big fan of Dave's content. It's so cool to see y'all both in a video together! Dave and RJ Financial have always kept me interested (and sometimes jealous) of cash back setups.
    Funny enough, I just talked to RJ about this exact topic for my channel which will be going live this weekend. I promise I didn't copy you... this one has been scheduled for a bit now haha 🤣

    Dave is REALLY good at a simple but high-earning cash back setup. If I wasn’t team travel I would probably use the same or similar setup.
    Awesome that you had Dave on your channel Ben!

    I have a little setup. My Juno debit card gets me 5% on 10 brands that I choose from their list that includes Walmart and Amazon. My Target Redcard debit card earns 5% at Target. My Redstone FCU Visa Signature earns 5% on restaurant and gas purchases. Last, my Discover It Card and Chase Freedom Flex earn 5% on rotating categories. Plus, my Discover It Card will match my cash back in my first year meaning I will earn 10% cash back. I usually use my PayPal Cashback Credit card as my catch-all card.

    Awesome video! Fan of Dave, but he has not been posting that often, come on Dave we miss your content! I liked all the crypto credit cards video, I don’t have a crypto rewards card yet, since I’ve been taking care of my 5/24 and chase status, but eventually I will be joining the crypto cards game, thanks Dave. Excellent content!

    Great interview with Dave Hanson. Been a big fan since the Apple Card review and discovered the whole credit card community because of him. I like the latest credit card setup by Dave but my only criticism is the X1 credit card is difficult to get unless someone is a TH-cam creator with lots of subscribers.

    I haven't seen anyone talk about the US cash+ Visa. It says that you are supposed to get 5% cash back in two categories. On a side note, I feel like a good rotation would be Citi Custom, Discover, Chase Flex, US cash+, BoA cash back if you can push for that 4.4% back.

  • @fluffywarhampster

    Honestly the venture x could be a good fit for him since they price match bookings through the portal and you can use the points to pay off travel transactions at 1cpp. And the categories are uncapped even for the 10x on hotels and rental cars.

    • @HeythereDavehere
      @HeythereDavehere ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'll look into it again. Any experience with the price match? If anything like filing a "trip delay" claim I'll pass haha

    • @davidprettoofficial
      @davidprettoofficial ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@HeythereDavehere HI Dave, I have booked a flight on the CO travel portal, then called about a price match and the customer service rep was able to immediately verify/match the lower competitor flight ( I found a lower price from a random flight search engine). The catch is it has to been within 24 hours of booking for the price match. They credited the difference on my account. Also the CO portal offers more hotels and flights than what i have found on the Chase portal.

    Points/miles are much better for most people to get imo, you get more out of them overall. It’s just not that difficult. I’ve gotten near 10k in value from redeeming miles for economy flight tickets for my family and certainly averaged more than 2cpp.

  • @dan4logic500
    @dan4logic500 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    What absolutely sucks about points is that the best value is first class international flights but for that same amount of point if I choose cash back at mostly 5 percent I could have bought 3-4 economy tickets to the same location and earned a ton of points off those purchases

      The question then is whether you do cash back for everyday spending where travel setups tend to have lower value, and then use a card like the Sapphire Reserve for travel and dining spending with its 3x UR. The Altitude Reserve is popular for cash back setups but I’m not sure if it delivers more value for, specifically, travel and dining than a CSR (which also has a significantly wider definition of “travel”).

I have the Mercury Rewards Card with 2% cash back on everything and the Capital One SavorOne and its awesome 3% cash back. Just came out of bankruptcy 04/22 and already pushing past 700 credit score. • @graysonsmith7031

    I earn a minimum of 3.5% on everything and 6% on what would be most 5% categories. Because I have the Ollo Optimum for unlimited 2.5% back and the Curve Card that gives me an additional 1% on all purchases I funnel through it (as long as the mcc code carries through correctly and it's not a visa, which works out for me). What's nice is if there is a rotating 5% category on a card, I can switch up to 30 days worth of purchases over to that card to get the 5% cashback. It's also nice I have an EV and my apartment doesn't charge electricity for my garage, so I don't have to worry about gas.
    Edit: Also, I don't need the Bilt card because I can pay for my rent with a CC for a 2.2% fee, but given the cashback I make it comes out to a net ~1.38% back.
