Good to see you on here again Kevy! I just used my Tatara Muramasa this morning here in Oklahoma. I pair it with a Perma Sharp blade. My settings are very similar to yours. WTG-4, XTG-3, ATG-3, pickups-5. So smooth and comfortable. I hope your holiday season is going well. I am sure you are quite busy at work during this time. Be safe my friend!

The lighting's excellent, so your hard work paid off. We need reminders of just how far north Scotland is and how disorienting the shorter days can get at those latitudes. It's like what happened last week in Finland. No one can tell if it's 4 am or 4 pm this time of year, so their prime minister got into trouble for being out clubbing when her only mistake was to step out thinking it was Happy Hour. Anyway, just 9 days till the solstice. Hang in, Kevy!

Hi Kevy! Fantastic shave video! I asked my wife if I may get a $400 dollars razor for Christmas and she answered: “buy whatever the #$☠️🤬” you want!; “ So, I guess no Tatara Muramase for me this year! Have a great week!

I've had the Muramasa since last June and love it. I enjoy by other adjustable but prefer the Muramasa. Much milder than the Rex.

Yes, and now I also need to lather most of the time when I shave. And since then the shaves are much more comfortable, smoother without any irritation. But it can also be because I'm always more skilled at shaving.

Been using a Masamune since last week, great razor. Like the sound of this soap, another one to add to the list, also still haven't tried a soap from France. Good to see the Viking Swords' blades make an appearance. Noticed the Tabac shower gel in the background, use that too, smells incredible! Hope you have a great Christmas mate. :)

I also like the Masamune. It is a really great razor. I especially love the sound it makes. The whole razor rings instead of just the blade. I have mostly been using the Muramasa in favor of adjustability but the Masamune is a masterpiece of engineering.

Nicely done Sir Kevy💈💈 Muramasa magic at it's best. Forward blade exposure is the culprit for me, gap not so much. If a blade is neutral in exposure, gap can be more but still be smooth feeling...IMO only lol... Yeah that soap looked really good lathered up, and I am one of those non-believers of blooming, but that's just me..I ruined a jar of Mitchell's Wool Fat by blooming. Sweet brush, I have it and the Perigrino, same synth knot. Great video, shave and chat, thanks. Busy days but hope to see you soon. Good health to all. Enjoy!

Bloom or not to bloom that is the question? 😊 Well it is really a personal choice of how you use own tubs of soap and each shaver will have their own preferred lathering method. For myself I'm a 100% bowl latherer and don't bloom much, mostly scoop a portion of soap/cream from tub into my lathering bowl which I may bloom on occasion. However, I still bloom hard mug style soaps like MWF and Tabac. In any case you had another great looking lather today, I just love the beautiful looking lathers you generate. My favourite blade is the Wizamet Iridium, I like them so much I have about 400, just in case ... lol 😁 Have a great week and keep safe.👍

Great to see you again Kevy! I was mysteriously unsubscribed from this channel. I just subscribed again. That’s how much I like your videos!
The Muramasa is my daily shaver now thanks to you introducing it to me to Tatara razors. I am just getting around to trying out blades other than the Feather. Next up will be Gillette Silver Blue and then Nacelle. Now I will have to check out Viking Swords too.
Hey do you think you maybe already helped deliver various safety razors for Christmas this year? I bet you have!

Great shave. If you’re talking about winter being in Europe and the UK, don’t forget us people that are from North America that also get that season and early nightfall during that period too. I never bloom soft soaps just because they work just fine when they’re not bloomed. I only bloom hard soaps just to make it easy to lather them up. Either way, blooming the soaps is one of the most controversial concepts of wet shaving that’s been hotly debated among wet shavers. If you like to bloom or just don’t like doing it at all, that’s totally fine. Also, what was so funny at 19:26? I’ll wait for the answer. Other than that, have a good one.

I used my Muramasa today on setting three with a second use Feather for a two pass with a bit of touchup. I've tried my razor on all five settings each time with a fresh Feather, and four was usable but five was too much for me. The design is deceiving because it feels so mild that you don't realize just how efficiently it performs. I can't read the setting numbers without magnification and think it's a pathetic design feature. If they fixed that and extended the handle about a half inch it would be perfect for me.

  • @donkee011

I would love to hear your thoughts on the comparison of that razor and some other adjustables. Just to get some point of reference.
If I'm not mistaken, you tried that Russian adjustable one (can't remember the name right now). Also Rex Ambassador, Parker Variant, Merkur Progress, and those vintage Gillette adjustables. I tried most of them, except the Tatara.
I would be very grateful if you could give me your thoughts in the comment.
Thanks and have a great Christmas.

Are you thinking of the Homelike ?

    • @kevyshaves4109
      @kevyshaves4109  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Every adjustable is different in its own way. I enjoy the Progress and the Variant. I don't enjoy the Homelike Taiga too much. The Rex Ambassador was too aggressive for me so I sold it. The Muramasa is probably the smoothest adjustable I've used. Its not super aggressive on the higher settings, but its still efficient in the lower settings. The new Yaqi adjustable razor is very good too. The vintage Gillette adjustables are excellent too. Although not an adjustable in the traditional sense, the Rockwell 6S still remains my favourite. Cheers. Kevy 🙂👍

Вы очень хорошо рассказываете, но что касается бритья - почитайте, пожалуйста, учебник парикмахера, а именно: какие участки в какой последовательности нужно брить. Особенно это заметно на первом проходе.

If you have a really coarse beard or you enjoy a razor with a little bit more efficiency, then it might not be for you. Cheers. Kevy 🙂
