- Join us on our Epic London Day (well, days) as we take in the sights, a gig, head up the Shard and somehow manage to lose our GoPro.
Join us on our Epic London Adventure as we dive into two unforgettable days in the vibrant heart of London! Our journey kicks off with Wills attending an amazing single and album launch event for his favourite band, The Quireboys. The energy of the gig sets the tone for our amazing London experience.
After the event, we reunite for a magical evening, exploring some iconic pubs around the Greenwich area, stopping by to sample London's best chips at Jack the Chipper before turning in for the night.
The second day in London is full of fun, as we explore From the majestic Buckingham Palace where the changing of the guard was taking place, to the towering heights of The Shard, our adventure is packed with breathtaking views and memorable moments. Thanks to a thoughtful gift from Rach's sister, we enjoy champagne for two up The Shard, taking in the stunning skyline of London.
But that's not all! Our Epic London Adventure continues with a picturesque riverboat cruise down the Thames. We soak in the beauty of London's landmarks from a unique perspective, making memories that will last a lifetime.
However, our trip takes an unexpected twist when we discover our GoPro camera is missing. Did we manage to find it amidst the hustle and bustle of London? Watch our Epic London Adventure to find out!

Welcome to the official Postcard & A Pint TH-cam channel.
Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. It's just a bit of fun, and great for our sanity. Your support is hugely appreciated x

I (a 1980's child!) had never heard of the Quireboys before I started watching @Postcard And A Pint stuff, and somehow (yes, I looked up the entire track) I knew 'Hey You' off by heart - no idea how, either!

I'll start at the end- I agree Rachel, that boat trip was AWESOME. There must be many variations and companies- love the canapes and the welcome on board drink. The pub deserves a great send up- being to accommodating and contacting you about finding the Go-Pro. I'd be devastated if I lost mine. The changing of the Guard. Most impressive and a must if one visits London. Great that Wills got to the tribute band/show. Loved the hotel room and the price. I'd book that too. Looking forward to seeing the next video ( which I will do now). Happy travels. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝

We were looking forward to this one guys, and it didn't disappoint 🤩👌. Has to be said, London isn't our bag, but, we love watching you two visit the big smoke! Unsurprisingly, you packed a weeks worth of site seeing into a couple of days! 😂👌 Where to start! Gig looked brilliant Wills, nice and small and intimate🤩👍. Ooh your hullumi bowl looked delicious though Rach, it is a close call on who had the best afternoon 😋👌. Love a room tour😊, we don't think it is possible for you to be boring Rach! There you go, saved it with the secret toilet 🚻😂. Bargain price for the hotel too 👍. Pubs and food all looked divine! Even the fateful dog and bell 😬. And the boat trip, ok, maybe we could be converted to the delights of London after all! That looked right up our street, a few glasses of vino on the water, watching the world go by, perfect! 😍 🍷. So what if it was one wine too many, you only live once! And you needed to cheer Wills up after the lost gopro! 😂. Are we allowed to say we are glad you are going back, as it gives us a bonus vlog to enjoy?🙈. Fingers crossed for a happy ending (us patreons are giving nothing away! 🙊🤫). Ah thank you. Thats very kind. It was a jam packed few days, but great to be out and about again. Work is always too much at this time of year, so breaks like these are so important! We enjoyed the London tour, Rachel and Wills. Fun time with the band! Would love to visit the "Literally Pub." Looked like a fun place and love the history. The boat ride looked wonderful too. PS - I have never lost a go-pro. Haven't ever owned one. In fact unlike Wills I've never lost any of our recording equipment! 😁😁Of course there was that time in downtown Nogales AZ where I set the stabilizer on the trunk of the car in our parking place before pulling out. Not lost. I knew exactly where it was! But, that crazy driver that ran it over right after wasn't helpful. 🤣🤣Hope you had better luck!
Ah thanks guys! We don't go to London often (well apart from the last 2 weeks!). It is a stunning city and it's lovely to share it! Wills was so cross with himself, but you know the outcome! You win!! Neither of us have ever lost a car!! I've driven one into a tree (in my defense the tree fell down in a gale right front of the car) but we've never had one roll away - with stick driving we always park in gear - doesn't happen then!! Oh no, lost the gopro. Oh no traffic jam or is that the new speed limit in Wales? Sheep in the road, of course! Well done Barry. The street food looks great! Wow great spot to see the cycling event. Thats a great two night price plus breakfast in London! The refreshments at the Gipsy looked lovely. Ah the classic Sausage and Cider festival! Lovely cat! Jack the Chipper must be good if the police go there! Oh gosh it must be upsetting to lose the GoPro, maybe it will find its way back to you somehow? Gosh the Champions Events sound like they will be good. You certainly saw all the famous landmarks! The Cheshire Cheese looks great. Great views from the Shard. Some great views from the Thames. Don't joke about the speed limit in wales - it's a very sore point and my language has got progressively worse because of it!!! Yep this was a great little trip (apart from the GoPro! Good to see Spike and the 'Choirboys' are still alive and kickin' but sad that Guy Bailey is doing it up in Rock n Roll heaven. Some delicious looking food to be had in London's street markets for sure , but the (Dog and Bell) is a place I really want visit someday. Pickled eggs, sausages, meat pies...book me a table! Fantastic that the pub found your GoPro!

Wills will never get me to Glastonbury!! I think of it more as inter railing practise! We have no idea how the hotel was so cheap. It was off booking.com and I can only assume it was priced wrong as that price is usually per night. On the board when we went it it said £200 per night! Lucky us! Yep cliff hanger for the GoPro- will we ever see it again! Work... boo hiss!!!!cheers for watching 🍻
Hi Rach and wills 😊 really enjoyed this. Looks like a lovely visit to London. There is so much to see there, even though I lived there for about 25 years I still feel there are areas there I haven’t yet discovered. Glad wills enjoyed the band, that looked a nice meal to have by the river rach. Fab views from the shard. I used to work at London Bridge but was always a bit too scared to venture up the shard 😅 to tall for me I think. Loved the boat tour totally agree I would have been up top taking in the views rather than down below. Looked a lovely sunset sky. Glad the GoPro was at least found! Hope you made it another worthwhile trip heading back to get the GoPro 😊
Thanks Yasmin. I'm not gonna lie the shard did feel flimsy! I'm sure it's not, but it's so narrow at the top! Wow, that's cool you used to work there (although very expensive). @@PostcardAndAPint yeh I grew up in new cross just round the corner from Greenwich really 😊 I did enjoy growing up there but it’s all about being away in the countryside now lol still have family in London but I can’t imagine living there now. Eek, hope you got the gopro back! I remember a dash to crewe station many years ago now, when we were on our way to Saint Petersberg, that was an experience for sure. Also a hundred years ago I went to a fancy ball by Tower Bridge, it was magnificent and the views from there were wonderful! Lots of love x

For sure, my partner lost his phone at Matchbox twenty but managed to get it back, then at Chris Isaak lost the camera when I ran to the stage when he said we could stand up, finally found it between the seats .

There are, he was lucky to get the phone though, it was at a festival on a plastic chair, a guy picked it up but eventually gave it back to him, so he was real lucky for sure.

I'm with Wills, going to see the Quireboys would have been a good afternoon. I did see them on their 'A bit of what you fancy tour' at the Newcastle Mayfair (sadly now gone) back in the day. I also saw The Dogs D'amour several times at the Mayfair and I think you've mentioned them before too. Happy Days.
A great tour of London, I don't think I've been since the early noughties and that was for a messy stag do. Being taken up The Shard sounds painful but not as bad as being taken up The OXO Tower 😄

We were shocked at the price of the hotel. The last few times we've been we've not managed to get a chain hotel anywhere near that! The company was city experiences. The price differs by date - it's cheaper mid week, it was a lovely cruise though! Watch next week for the GoPro conclusion!!! Cheers 🍻

Good stuff! That Thames river is bigger than I thought. It'd put a decent sized port to shame. It's funny seeing that big Shard on... the Thames. It really stands out seeing as you got so few skyscrapers. We have dozens of the buggers. The biggest in Melbourne is over 100 floors now but only a bit bigger than the Shard. But it is in a forest of big 'uns so it doesn't stick out as much.
Brilliant vlog as usual. I love your perspective on a place like London. Some sites, thanks to decades of English TV shows, are very familiar - the MI6 building for example. And was that the power station on the Pink Floyd Animals record? Which reminds me. We watched Mr Bates vs The Post Office this week and it starts off in Wales. I was watching and thinking, jeez some of these places look right familiar. 😄

Hey Shane, yeah, you're right, the Thames is a pretty decent size. It was very important back in the early days of world trading. We thought you'd recognise some of the sights, M16 in James Bond and yeah, Battersea Power Station was used in the Pink Floyd videos and artwork. We haven't watched Mr Bates yet, but quite a few of our friends are in the cast. Thanks for noticing the PIL t-shirt, I'm (Wills) off to see John Lydon on his book tour in a couple of week's time - cool eh!! I've just found out that Glen Matlock is playing our local venue in November but have a nasty feeling I'll be working and not able to go. I'd love to go to that. What I don't understand is why you don't get thousands of views?
We are recent subscribers and compared to other channels we follow that are not as well done they get mega views. It baffles us.
Anyway keep making great videos and increase the subscribers.
What a lovely comment and it's much appreciated. I think it's a time thing. All of our search scores and optimisation are high. We are relatively new as a channel being only 2yrs 10 months old! What an amazing way to see London…from up in the tower to down on the river.
I was on a ferry recently, and I was the lone person on the top deck which was very windy but so worth it!
