Hello, my dear friends! Wow, just WOW! I love how we got this conversation started! I've been reading all of your comments, and I'm blown away at how you feel about aging! It's so refreshing to hear we all pretty much are feeling the same! We are all truly blessed to be this beautiful age, and I think the main reason why I did this video is that a dear friend of mine, who was 56 years old, passed away this month. She was a mother, daughter, sister, and wife taken too soon. She was also a beautiful ballet dancer that I worked with over 30 years ago. Life is precious, and I'm truly grateful for you and your love and support. I hope you have an amazing week, sending you all hugs! Much love, Cat xoxo

I'm with you, Cat! I like the longer videos. They have more substance and give more information that benefits us as consumers. I feel we look better, are aging better because we have more information and better ingredients for skin care. I'm 61 and have always taken care of my skin. Mom told me, "If you take care of your skin now, it will take care of you later." I have no desire to do any procedures. I would rather age gracefully.

Hi Cat, Great to hear a Beauty Content Creator talk about “ Aging”. Really great, thought out talk. I turned 63 in June and still do not feel and or believe I’m 63. And iam embracing my age as well as my flaws inside and out. Well, I am a bit of a skincare junky and my money is spent on good skincare, and minimal makeup products. I have never and will never watch Tik Tok, I do not do FB, Instagram. The only thing I do is watch a selective few here on U Tube and I have learned so very much. I’ve learned who I can trust and not trust etc. your eyeshadow look is so pretty as you are. Thank you so much for bringing something different and good to all. Hope you do more of these type of videos. Love ya back

What a great topic, Cat! I'm 61 and have come to terms with my aging face and body. Chasing after the latest and greatest is not a satisfying journey. Do I love my wrinkles?? Not really, but they are part of me and my life that I've lived by the grace of God. I think it is critical to care for our bodies well; I work out 5 days a week and that will help my quality of living as I get older.
Blessings on you, Cat, for approaching this topic. ❤

Hi Cat, I always enjoy your channel and the profound honesty you share on here . Such a good video today and I so appreciate it. Well my friend, as you know I have a YT channel ( Beauty Over 70 With Lea ) I’m 76 and I feel like I’m aging as best I can. As a retired esthetician/ MUA I have had access to almost every this and that in my career years and today as well but allow me to say… I have never had any Botox , no fillers or anything on my face at all. I’m a dye hard skincare person and I believe that if we properly clean our skin and exfoliate the dead skin so the serums, and moisturizer we use will penetrate… along with proper diet, exercise and stress. Cat, that’s my opinion on my 76 year old aging body…💕🤗 Lea

Hi Cat. I’m generation X, girl I fried in baby oil and loved my deep dark tan!
My mom was ten years older than my dad, but looked same age as him, maybe Japanese genes? People think I’m younger than my 59 years. I’m a skin care nut, and I’ve been religious with sunscreen for twenty five years! I don’t think I am putting pressure on myself to look younger, but it feels good that people say so. I’m expecting someday to actually look my age, and that’ll be ok. My husband, kids, and grandkids love me just as I am, and that’s what really matters. Better believe I’ll continue to look for and do the best for my skin.

Soooo many facets to this video, Cat, and about topics I feel very strongly about. When TH-cam started everyone called themselves influencers but now how I see it is the influencers are just sales people and no longer the real reason why I started looking at beauty channels in the first place. Now I’m looking for content creators that are educators and not influencers. I want to hear about a product and how it works and then make my own decisions on whether it’s right for me. I’m a very proud 57 year old woman who is living my best years in a body that has survived cancer and is currently trying to survive menopause lol. I want to age gracefully. I haven’t had any ‘work’ done or any injections but have educated myself on what can benefit my skin and body through resources I didn’t have years ago. So are we aging better? I’d say yes, through education and readily available products.

I’m almost 54 years old, and if it weren’t for menopause and recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I feel younger than my age.
I just started a program to restart my career as a dentist and I’m older than my professors and all of my classmates. I am sucking youth out of them! 😂
If I could just solve the M symptoms I’d be happier.
Some of my female classmates have tried to bully me because of my age, LOL, if that had happened in my first round I’d be upset, right now I laugh off all sort of aggression. I have come to appreciate so much the wisdom that comes with age!

Ooh dear Cat! What a GREAT topic you brought on today❤
We are aging better AND backwards! Cause we are Team GenX! And yes: we indeed had the most awesome music in the 80's!!! No pressure from anti-social media or what not. I was such a baby when I was a teenager and overall a latebloomer. I was just so happy with my lovely parents, siblings, my pets, music etc. I didn't start using make-up until I was about 23 yrs old. But only when I went to a D.I.S.C.O😅🎉
In highschool I was insecure because I had long red hair, freckles, I was a bit chubby so there you go😮 But when I turned 40 I felt more body confident. Just like you I started to use good skincare and went to a beautician. Never had botox or fillers. Not just yet. The only thing I would like is an eyelid correction. My hooded eyes are driving me bonkers but the eyelids also feel very heavy and causes sometimes a massive headache. But besides that: nah...it's ok for me. And just like you said: it's our younger spirit that's peaking through. That's why we're aging better and backwards!
    Btw: what a lovely daughter you've got!!❤
Many greetings from your fan from the Netherlands!❤

I can't believe I just found your channel. You're a gem! I love learning about products that work best on mature skin. I've been on YT for years ( since 2012) and remember when the " older crowd" was pushing NuFace, red light therapies like Quasar MD, along with every other skin care device to delay aging. Nothing stops it, genetics & quality of health play a major role. At 60 now, I really feel less is more, and we need to stop beating ourselves up for every new wrinkle. After surviving cancer in 2013, I can't wear eye makeup easily which saddens me because my eyes were my best feature. ( almost everything irritates especially mascaras/liners) and my skin is thin and delicate. I lean towards clean brands and excellent skin care. I feel we ARE aging for the better due to advances in skin care but mentally, I think social media is taxing. If we could all learn cherish getting older, and working on improving our health - better looks are sure to follow. xo

Well I love that you enjoy make up. I think it’s amazing fun way to be creative, expressive and to share and enjoy with others. I didn’t do much until Covid lol!! I didn’t even watch TH-cam!
I think Humans have adorned themselves and their environments since forever so we’re falling right in line ❤.
My golden rule is that all these amazing beautifying tools we have, they’re for us and not the other way around.
So once the relationship starts harming us whether the cost, or we feel we never have enough or we’re chasing something the ads promise that beauty product really can’t fulfill, then we need to put ourselves first again.
Since I’ve never aged before, not sure I can answer this question but for sure, I love all these goodies we have to play with, all the ones in my budget anyway, it’s a luxury and we’re crazy privileged imo. I feel better, look better, I love sharing myself with my new ever changing 50+ menopausal prettiness 🌹.
The 50+ beauty community is awesome. My perception and what I feared would happen in my 50s hasn’t. It’s been an adventure into what lies beyond beauty ironically, and grateful for every day into this decade.
The 50+ you tube community beauty vibe has definitely been part of that (your channel specifically & a handful of others I watch).

I am 58 and have been guessed at 42 which thrilled the heck out of me. Good skin care is highly important to me and I love makeup. I have to be honest. If I ever feel that I'm sagging, bagging or dragging (as Dolly Parton says), I will surely get it taken care of. I personally feel that there's no shame in wanting to look and feel as youthful as you do on the inside so I definitely do not poo-poo subtle cosmetic procedures as long as it's done well and the results look natural and beautiful. I've seen women in their 70's who look phenomenal who have had a few procedures done well. Yes! It can be done with the right cosmetic surgeon. It's all up to what we want as women. Not just "older" but women in general.

The pushing and promoting of products that in many cases were provided for free is overwhelming and franky annoying; I have way too much makeup and since I am currently unemployed, resent how many products I am NOT wearing and/or never worked for me in the first place! What looks great on a youtuber often looks awful on me, and even when I am employed (which hopefully I will be soon) most of us don't have the time to to spend 20 minutes perfecting the latest eyeshadow! thanks again and best always! x

Hi Cat, what an interesting topic and great for conversation. I feel access to social media has not been all good for all age groups. The pressures the younger generation must feel is terrible and I have real concerns for what my granddaughter will be exposed to in years to come. As for me I’m 62 and feel like I’m aging well despite what some influencers insist you need to try or do to “look young”. I try to eat healthy (ok sometimes I indulge here and there .. McDonalds fries 🍟😋 are a weakness and a treat now and then lol). I am devoted to good skin care and sunscreen 365 days whether I’m going out or staying home. Exercise is important for the body and I admit I can do better there. I think at this age most of us know what’s important and what is frivolous. We could guide with our life experiences and knowledge base if people would listen. I’m so glad you brought this topic up for discussion Cat. I am looking forward to hearing your viewers thoughts. Maybe other people are aging better, but I don’t think I am.
I recently turned 50. I’ve always been pale and rarely got much sun. I use moisturizers, sunscreen, and other basic products. I rarely wear makeup.
What really, truly “aged” me, in my opinion, was Menopause. It was like ten years of age smashing directly into my face at once. The skin on my body is aging naturally and normally, but thanks to my general sun avoidance it doesn’t look bad.

Aesthetically I think Gen Xers are aging better than other age group, physically/internally our health is probably worse due to our diets, environmental factors, and lack of exercise. Up until 3 years ago, I felt like I was in my 20’s and even think like “When I grow up…” lol but lately I am tired. Physically and mentally. So I feel my age, but I am ok with that.
Gen X benefited from already knowing about preventative beauty, and now have access to new non-surgical medical treatments that are just new enough that we access it carefully. I feel like we have a much more natural beauty as we aren’t as ready to embrace fillers and Botox to the level that younger people are and I find people are forgetting what real people should look like. I did read that because Botox and other procedures actually relax muscles so much that it stops working, long term use can speed up aging as muscles and collagen don’t have the structure to hold your face up anymore so time will tell how those under 40 will look by the time they hit their 50’s+.
By the way, as an Asian, it’s the buckle fat that keeps us looking young! Lol. That’s definitely one thing I would never do haha. I have been wearing sunscreen daily since the 90’s and I am always mistaken for 35 instead of almost 50, but as more and more people around me get procedures done, I think the expectation of what you should look like at X age is higher.

Great video! I’m 72 and only wear makeup when I’m going somewhere special. I’m comfortable in my own skin but I have to confess I’ve ordered makeup that I really haven’t needed. I’ve removed some influencers but not you 😊

This is such an interesting topic, Cat! The women you mentioned, especially Robin Wright, are stunning, of course. Robin is a natural beauty. She's not overdone like the crazy Kardashian women. I'm sure most have had work done due to the ageism in Hollywood, but some seriously look like caricatures instead of real women. As a woman of almost 68, I have taken critical steps in the past five years to boost my health and my immune system. Beauty, natural beauty, comes from the inside out, no question. We can control what is not genetically programmed, make the best of what we have. Nothing outside like makeup can fix yellow, crinkled skin that comes from putting poisonous substances into our bodies. I stopped eating sugar, starches, grains, seed oils (worst thing ever), fast food and began eating more and more grass fed beef, animal fats (women need more fat than men), free range eggs from my own chickens, almost no fruits and vegetables because of oxylates and sugars, though I do consume what I grow myself in season. I get a lot of fresh air, sleep with window beside my bed cracked all year long because I believe stale recirculated air is harmful; I get loads of natural exercise being a homesteader, especially walking, and plenty of sunshine. I don't use sunscreens because I believe what causes sunburn is ingested toxins coming out of our pores that photo-react with the sun to cause burning. I never burn anymore since changing my diet permanently. My skin has much improved over the past few years-A nephew of mine that I see once each year has been stunned by my appearance for two or three years running, says I look younger very time he sees me and keeps looking at me closely, LOL, which is nice to hear, of course. I have nothing against plastic surgery, but I will never do it, ever, no matter what, especially those lip fillers that make everyone look the same and very artificial. The reality is that no one gets out of this life without wrinkles if they've been fortunate enough to get up to our age. I earned every single wrinkle, trust me! I have ever smoked, never drank because I hate the taste of alcoholic drinks and I drink mostly water, some coffee with heavy cream. I don't want to write a novel here (too late, ugh), but I am trying to say that no amount of skincare and/ or makeup can really hide neglect of our internal health. Do I want to look my best? Sure, who doesn't? I am not going to sweat it, though I have religiously cared for my skin since I was a teenager. After I do all I can, short of surgery or botox, I look how I look and those who criticize women for aging are pretty shallow, right? As for makeup gurus on this platform, I confess that I don't watch many who have had obvious cosmetic surgery like the overdone lip fillers that give them those unnatural duck bill lips, a pet peeve of mine. JMHO. God bless, my beautiful neighbor! You're a true beauty, Cat. I feel like I'm in my 40's, but honestly, I am better now, healthier than I was back then! ~Cynthia P.S. That Prime Lab primer is DA BOMB!

It sounds like you have the most amazing attitude on aging and taking all the necessary steps to care for your mind, body, and soul, and I love it! 🥰 and yes, people who criticize others on not aging are shallow. It's sad and so unnecessary! Ugh!
We, as a family, are trying to eat healthier. Small steps, like free-range eggs, vegetables from the garden, and limited intake of fast food. It's so expensive, fast food! And I'd rather cook myself! 😊 thank you so much for sharing your valued input, my dear, Cynthia! Much love, Cat xoxo ✨️ 🥰 ❤️ 😘

@@CatsEyeBeauty Wouldn't shock me at all! Blech, even the supposed '"100% white meat chicken" is no more than 60% chicken, testing found in many fast food joints. The part that *is* chicken may be 100% white meat, but the additives of seaweed, sawdust and other nasties make it plain old fraud. Even buying beef is scary. We buy from a local farm that guarantees no antibiotics or hormones, but you never know with store bought anymore. Truth in labeling isn't reliable. I'll just grow or raise most all of what we eat as long as I can do it and buy local for the things I can't produce myself.

    Morning Cat loved the video
I have to agree with you
A lot of people in there 20 & a tad older are getting fillers & it’s up to them but in my opinion as you say what are they going to look like when there older
My husband laughs when he sees some & says there messing the face up it’s very sad to think they have to do this
But if people feel they need to to do this it’s fine if it makes them feel better see you soon ❤❤

I feel 40 even though I'm older by age. I do look younger due to my parents gene pool ( DNA). I embrace this feature. I'm more confident and bolder in my application when applying make up. I'm still learning make up hacks ( like your suggestion Cat a few weeks ago ) on applying blush on the center of the cheeks outwards. It definitely gave me a more fuller youthful appearance . Age is just a number. I try to use make up for all the advantages it can give my skin and looks ❤ your channel

I'm 60 now despite my illness I don't feel old, still stuck at 26 lol I don't wear makeup often. Need a frame to walk. My oldest grandmother looked very old. Luckily I don't resemble her. I loved her so much, getting her to wear lipstick was a push. She passed away when I was 22, good memories. Always wore a corset. 1986 I think when she was taken. Not even a year after my Grandad died now he was good looking, don't youu though men look good the older they get. Just me . He looked out for me till I was 21 I lived with them for years. Salma Hayek has multiple surgerys . Nosejob , cheek implants , lip filler , brow lift , BOTOX , breast argumentation ( several ) and 3 facelifts . Look up Lorry Hill who did her recently . Shes not close to aging naturally . Neither is Jennifer Aniston . They have so much work done , so i gotta say you are very wrong .
