The video is more like Davao city vs Mandurriao. Been to both cities. My observation, firstly, Iloilo has its old Spanish-era buildings, specially the old churches, while Davao has none. This is because Davao is relatively new city compared with Iloilo. As for the "wide road" frequently boasted here in the comments, I only see one. Nothing special about it. Personally, I don't like these so called stroads. I prefer the charm of the old roads in the old city district. As for its people, Iloilo is more homogenous while Davao is highly diverse with its 11 tribes plus the illongos, ilocanos, kapampangans, cubuanos, boholanos, etc, who migatred to Davao when it was encourage by the government 1900s to counter the rising population of Japanese in Davao. Iloilo celebrates Sto. Niño annually, while Davao celebrates its tribe's culture in time for the harvest season. For population size, land area, business opportunity, hats off to Davao. Basura? if you are going to nitpick, then both has it. But if you are to factor in the size of the city and its population, then you can say that Davao is doing a great job. Davao city is way more progressive than Iloilo if the benchmark is high rise buildings, which some of the commenters here suggest. Iloilo has 20+ while Davao has 40+. Although Davao has a cap on how tall a building can be built in the city. For business district, Davao city has more than one, 5 off the top of my head, while Iloilo has Mandurriao. Greeneries? Davao has the largest park. It is called Mt. Apo. Things to do? Depends on what you are in to. If you like historical building, then Iloilo. But if you like nature with the convenience of a city has to offer, then Davao. Literally 15 minutes to white sandy beaches, about an hour forest parks and wild life sanctuaries, and 2 hours to baguio-like-weather tourist destinations. All within Davao. Informal settlers, well, which city has none? Lastly, quality of life, that is highly subjective. So I say is enjoy your city, celebrate what makes you unique, and be happy with the progress and improvements of all other cities.

There is a difference of capturing the aerial view..Davao is much higher altitude like a bird's eye view while in Ilo-Ilo the drone is flying too close to the building of which you can have a clear view.
That's because Davao is so wide that if the altitude of the camera would be the same as that of Iloilo , less area would be covered which will make the video longer ! Understand?

So true. Infrastructure is also lacking. No bridges. No railway system. No busway system. No proper sidewalks. LED lamp posts almost non existent. And major thoroughfares look dated as in 1970’s dated. Pales in comparison to Medan, Palembang, Danang or even Johor Bahru
My honest take on this as I came from davao and now living in Iloilo. Davao is more progressive as it is much much larger than Iloilo but urban plan, Iloilo is above all cities with wide roads and beautiful river esplanade.
In fairness naman maganda talaga ung cdb ng iloilo and the esplanade. Sobrang liit lang talaga ng iloilo. Exploring the best of davao is an adventure in itself.

I'm from Cebu at nakapunta na sa Davao at Iloilo. In my opinion, it's not balance to compare. Malaki kasi yung Davao kaya di makikita lahat. Yung downtown Iloilo, 4x or 5x pa ata ang downtown ng Davao. Maganda both cities. It has its own unique charm and setbacks. Ang gusto ko sa Iloilo is malapit lang sa Boracay at Guimaras. I love the bicycle lanes and parks at di pa masyado traffic. Sa Davao naman, I love the road systems, the diversity, the food and the geographical location. Medyo traffic nga lang but they are working on it. Naka underground na yung dating spag wires. Pag nasa Davao ka, accessible nga lahat halos destination. I'm a traveller, daming group tours na based sa Davao. Kahit saan pwede ako makapunta at a convenient time. Dami ding beaches na magaganda. I love to be back there soon and actually planning to have my 2nd home investment there.
If you want to invest in a house in Davao, you should pick Catalunan Grande (flood free & highhills). If you want to invest in Iloilo, you should pick sta.barbara (flood free).

Iloilo seems more developed at the moment and I should say is a model city that Philippine cities should strive to emulate. It’s clean, orderly, have proper sidewalks free of any obstruction, led lamps are in ubiquity, roads are wide and it seems like a healthy city with bike lanes in place and parks very well maintained. Iloilo is definitely a boomtown all Philippines cities can look up to. The only thing missing is mass public transport which I believe is in the pipeline

Iloilo is an old city since spanish time pa, halos kasabay sila ng Cebu & yet Manduriao pa lang ang metropolitan dahil na din sa Megaworld which ang may ari taga Bacolod din. Ang Davao bago lang naging city, 4 na ang metropolitan na lugar.
Iloilo has a very strong European vibes. Nevermind the weather, you will get the feeling as if you're somewhere in Europe as you stroll by it's streets. Feels like you're somewhere in Barcelona, Brussels, Paris or Rome. Lot's of historical places and the buildings are not so tall, yet very orderly and progressive.

I am from Iloilo and never been to Davao, all I can say is all of this city we will be proud of, because each of them doing their best to make its city unique and beautiful, no need to compare because we need to develop all cities in the Philippines so that all travellers from different sides of the world will amazed us.. Like US for instance? So that where parts of the US it beautiful and you have no cities to choose because they have got what to offer. And that's am wishing to happen to Philippines so that travellers will recommend back home will say where ever parts of the Philippines you will stay, LUZON VISAYAS OR MINDANAO they are all the best you can't choose because they have what it takes. Iloilo is more develop city, but davao city have more gdp because it is center of business trade in mindanao, naka focus ung davao more in security kaya less development happening, at saka businesman hesitant na magnegosyo before dahil sa security reason. But davao right now is having good progress in devlopment and security.

I'm 100% davaoeno though my parents are migrants I was born and grew up in Davao. But sorry to say the City is no longer a livable place. Life for me is freedom but if you spend most of your time on the road due to traffic that is not life anymore. Sorry Davao City I know the government is doing everything to ease up the traffic but until then I'd rather live in a neighboring city (Digos) for now.

You're definitely wrong. Bacolod city is a filthy x messy looking place while Iloilo hailed many times as the cleanest city in the Philippines. Not only that, The legit capital city of Region VI got all of the regional offices of govt agencies.. City of Iloilo won an International award in Canada for its clean x green projects. Currently, they have the longest linear park in the country too exclusively for bikers x joggers. I like piaya of Bacolod , but Iloilo's authentic butterscotch, LaPaz batchoy , the sumptuous pancit Milo x baked talaba, Roberto's queen siopao x Biscocho edges by a mile over bacolod's piaya .

Iloilo is not really a city its only a small town a small farming town and so is davao its huge but not also a real city its mostly a rural or a farm land. The only legit cities in the philppines are found in NCR and Metro Cebu.😂 This so called cities are a joke of a city.😂

For a big city ang kikipot ng mga daan sa Davao. Kesyo malawak daw ang Davao largest City kuno In da Pilipins pero di mo madama kasi and road infrastructure pang provincial town pa rin sorry to say. Kakagaling ko lang iloilo, sobrang traffic sa ungka area, lalong lalo nasa tabuk suba, walang stop light. MT car pa naman gamit ko. Yung Davao although traffic may stop light, tuloy2x lang byahe. Di nakakapagod mag drive sa davao lalo na kung sa highway.
Ayan na naman ang mga maiingay at nakikipag-away dito na hindi pa nakapag-travel outside their own cities.. Mag-travel2x din sa ibang lugar para maging open-minded.

The video is more like Davao city vs Mandurriao. Been to both cities. My observation, firstly, Iloilo has its old Spanish-era buildings, specially the old churches, while Davao has none. This is because Davao is relatively new city compared with Iloilo. As for the "wide road" frequently boasted here in the comments, I only see one. Nothing special about it. Personally, I don't like these so called stroads. I prefer the charm of the old roads in the old city district. As for its people, Iloilo is more homogenous while Davao is highly diverse with its 11 tribes plus the illongos, ilocanos, kapampangans, cubuanos, boholanos, etc, who migatred to Davao when it was encourage by the government 1900s to counter the rising population of Japanese in Davao. Iloilo celebrates Sto. Niño annually, while Davao celebrates its tribe's culture in time for the harvest season. For population size, land area, business opportunity, hats off to Davao. Basura? if you are going to nitpick, then both has it. But if you are to factor in the size of the city and its population, then you can say that Davao is doing a great job. But if you like nature with the convenience of a city has to offer, then Davao. Informal settlers, well, which city has none? Lastly, quality of life, that is highly subjective. My honest take on this as I came from davao and now living in Iloilo. Davao is more progressive as it is much much larger than Iloilo but urban plan, Iloilo is above all cities with wide roads and beautiful river esplanade.

I'm from Cebu at nakapunta na sa Davao at Iloilo. In my opinion, it's not balance to compare. Malaki kasi yung Davao kaya di makikita lahat. Yung downtown Iloilo, 4x or 5x pa ata ang downtown ng Davao. Maganda both cities. It has its own unique charm and setbacks. Ang gusto ko sa Iloilo is malapit lang sa Boracay at Guimaras. I love the bicycle lanes and parks at di pa masyado traffic.
Sa Davao naman, I love the road systems, the diversity, the food and the geographical location. Medyo traffic nga lang but they are working on it. Naka underground na yung dating spag wires. Pag nasa Davao ka, accessible nga lahat halos destination.
I'm a traveller, daming group tours na based sa Davao. Kahit saan pwede ako makapunta at a convenient time. Dami ding beaches na magaganda. I love to be back there soon and actually planning to have my 2nd home investment there.

Iloilo seems more developed at the moment and I should say is a model city that Philippine cities should strive to emulate. It’s clean, orderly, have proper sidewalks free of any obstruction, led lamps are in ubiquity, roads are wide and it seems like a healthy city with bike lanes in place and parks very well maintained. Iloilo is definitely a boomtown all Philippines cities can look up to. The only thing missing is mass public transport which I believe is in the pipeline

Iloilo has a very strong European vibes. Nevermind the weather, you will get the feeling as if you're somewhere in Europe as you stroll by it's streets. I'm 100% davaoeno though my parents are migrants I was born and grew up in Davao. But sorry to say the City is no longer a livable place. Life for me is freedom but if you spend most of your time on the road due to traffic that is not life anymore.
