Perhaps one of Sega's less well-known "super scaler" titles, Racing Hero is a essentially a hybrid of Super Hang-On and OutRun; the point-to-point, multi-stage race mechanic is very much from the latter, while the bike riding comes from the former.
The game is based on Sega's X Board arcade hardware, which was used to power titles like After Burner and Thunder Blade. The game seems to be locked internally to 30 fps, so it lacks the fluidity and sense of speed of other super scaler releases.

Super Hang-on meets Outrun!
To be honest, it looks closer to Power Drift, but it's using the previous generation board.
Aged far better than most ps1 games.

I like how Britain consists of rows of 17th century houses with a red double decker bus in every drive and random stonehenge megaliths scattered around.
the mountains next to the Eiffel tower are a nice touch as well

With speeds clocking at around 316kph (or just over 196mph), it's tough to make quick decisions on those short turns or getting past other vehicles on a racing motorcycle.

Racing Hero is like a mix of Outrun and AfterBurner.

This is a good Game. It remembers me the Accolade Game named Hang-On (Or something like that). It was the 1st Game that i played as a kid, in my father's pc. The colours of the cloths of the players caracteres remembers me that Game. 😁
(Super) Hang On, the earlier arcade classic, was developed and published by SEGA themselves.
pretty much after the first checkpoint, it's like the developers forgot all about having the cars & trucks on the track.

This game runs at 30fps? Damn! Still more impressive than modern 30fps "AAA" games that are sluggish as hell.
OutRun runs at 30 FPS too.
Turbo OutRun also runs at 30 FPS (and dips often), but look how impressive that game was

Mode 7 is still better than super scaler. Mode 7 can rotate stages 360° whereas in a game made with super scaler you only can go just straight ahead to the background all the time
Only problem with mode 7 is that it's only 1 layer, super scaler has lots of sprites and layers to do pseudo 3d
Nah that's only the ones with the older line-scrolling raster effect roads. This game does a camera 360 at the start of the stage to show there's no such limitation here, because it's using sprites for the road. Also see Power Drift, the whole course map is visible and it loops and crosses back over itself, and also has a camera 360 at the start to show off what it can do.
Suzuka 8 Hours begs to differ. Compare the SNES version to the arcade original
