      I could not find the maximum gain of the microphone preamp. Also is the headphone amplifier powerful enough for large headphones ?

      Does it have loopback features? So if i do a zoom call can my zoom guest hear and talk to the smartphone's guest connected to the phone port of the M Caster?

    Super cool for streamers and even those that are leading Zoom classes. Entertainment is a valuable asset when educating.

    The only thing i would change is how Contour FX work. Blending knob fits for Stream FX but for contour FX effects should be stackable, not chosen one by one. So buttons for each effect and maybe one knob which can set most important setting for each of them like 1-knob guitar pedals (for example treshold for noise gate).

    This looks very cool for a streamer! This would be very cool with the Atem mini

    Set one up today and sadly the noise was too loud and whiny. Went back to the Scarlet Solo and zero noise. This was disappointing because I could really see myself having fun with general use case it offers. SM7B tested with and without a Dynamite preamp. Had ATH-40x, computer and microphone plugged in. Hopefully v2 will be better and I can look into it again.

    Oh bo oh boy oh boy! I'm currently looking for a holy grail: compact interface with basic voice enhancers : noise gate, compressor and maybe eq for my dynamic mic. Dbx as other rack devices is too bulky. Rodecaster too expensive. I watched MANY different devices like vocal effects processors like Zoom V6, tc helicon etc, many different recorders like boss br-80 and even considered buy a cheap USB mixer with FX/aux output and connect guitar pedals (chained single effects like Behringer nr300 and cs400 or digital multieffects like Nux mg 300 or zoom G1 four. And many many more ... But this Mackie might EXACTLY what i need - small affordable device for my laptop which will reduce background noise and enhance my voice during online meetings! I'm Soo excited now!

  • @Mamiya645
    @Mamiya645 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    With compact size and cleanliness in mind that's a nice piece of kit for MRP $259, as long as the drivers aren't a disaster this would make a far better purchase than GoXLR Mini. What people truly need is a compact USB mixer with additional inputs that offers compressor (speech & not breaking ears if they get scared in a game or laugh too loud) and reverb (song, general effect). Sadly I'm allergic to USB-line hiss.

    • @racergregg

      So you mean something like the Yamaha AG-06...

    • @Mamiya645
      @Mamiya645 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@racergregg Yep or AG03, but even more compact and attractive in design to lure in the streamers. M-Caster took a too minimalist approach, speaking as someone with Pocket-Operator instruments on the shelf.

    Question : does this allow you to record the separate channels as a multi-track session in a DAW or does it only send the master out ? Thanks.

    Nice Review. is it possible to mix two effects same time, for example mixing of Eco and reverb, or reverb and deep voice effect, mixing two or more effects same time ?

  • @TKE_GothamSound_ATL
    @TKE_GothamSound_ATL 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In regards to the hiss, did you try going in line level from an outboard pre-amp? I'd be curious if that made a difference despite eliminating the portable factor aspect with the additional pre.

    Can you send a line-In signal from another mixer to the XLR port? I use an ATEM mini and Mackie ProFX12. Several DJ's will connect to the ProFx. I normally send a Y cable from the main outs to the ATEM. Can I use the XLR port on this as an input from the ProFx with a XLR y cable with phantom OFF...or mics only ??

    a dedicated button on the top for the light ... very important, maybe it should indicate if phantom power is on, or some indication of levels with the light?

    Sounds like a good little mixer. An alternative that I enjoy using is the behringer q802usb, as I find the compressor option really good to have.

      I want to buy one. Ive seen very bad opinions about this 1-knob kompressor. Thats why i also consider soundcraft notepad mixers too (5 or 8). I want to buy mixer and a cheap (20-30$) noise gate guitar pedal, connect it to the mixer as external effect (FX SEND output and back to the 3/4 line-in inputs ) and redirect them to USB. If i will choose soundraft then i will also have to buy compressor pedal too. th-cam.com/video/32SwnlA96Xg/w-d-xo.html

    Just a thought about the hiss problem. Open up the unit & coat the underside with copper or aluminum tape. Make sure nothing touches any wiring or the pc board. Ground the coating to a ground on the pc board. Make sure all grounding is thoroughly soldered. The above is basically called a "Faraday Shield" which may minimize hiss/hum. Sounds like a very useful piece of equipment but the hiss problem stops me from making a purchase. Call the company's tech support for suggestions.

    The background noise totally kills this product for me. I don't know what it is but I don't think this is usable, unless you can test it with other products and it's just this one.

    While stationed in Alaska I would call the lower 48 and the echo was just horrid. I had to learn to talk on the phone while ignoring my own voice echo. Never got an echo from the other end though. Strange.

      This is about compact size and and ease of use. I would rather compare it with Maonocaster lite, AU-AM100 or even Zoom V3. Also FX mixers do not have some of the feature like noise reduction.
