I've been going for an hour and a half and still don't have the tyre off! Man you make everything look easy. Riding, changing tyres... is there nothing you can't do!
Agreed! Wish I had seen this before my attempt with two rim locks. My comedy of errors will make everyone cringe. A M14 bib in a Starcross 5 Medium looked way harder, but I'm also a noob. So there is that.
Rich - I love the videos. I have to ask how many tires that poor rim has hosted. I felt bad putting a single nick in mine last week, and then I see you have a consistent ring of silver. :D
Sooo after missing out on yesterday’s clinic due to my tubliss failure I’m in the market for mousse solutions. How does the Rabaconda compare to this one?
omg. pretty sure I didn't successfully catch the bottom bead on the rim lock...then I kept pushing the lubed tire over the bottom edge of rim...after 4 failed attempts...some F bombs...and maybe a thrown spoon or four...I quit. Gonna try again with this technique.
Just curious if anyone else has recieved one of these after ordering? After watching this video I put my oder in 7 months ago. I was promised deliver late fall 2022, then late December 2022, now they say late February 2023...... Feels a bit slimly considering they've been holding my cash since I placed the order.
I own a 4th gen Rabaconda, and almost everything about the tire changer in this video is better. The ability to adjust your tire size on the Zypty tire changer makes so much more sense adjusting one thing instead of (on the Rabaconda) adjusting three things. The two holes in the blade are a great idea. Only thing this doesn’t seem to have is one or two hooks to hold the tire iron when it’s in the bead, like a second or third hand.
Why is that tire changer so low to the ground ? My opinion (ive changed a ton of tires) bending over working like that is bad for your back and makes doing multiple tire changes uncomfortable ...... You should raise that thing up bud !
I’m guessing it’s because when it’s not bolted to the ground, being up higher would make it want to tip over easier. It could also be harder to put your weight onto the tire and/or irons when the station is higher up.
I guess this is ok if you have damaged rims but I have to say I would never go this route on new rims. You are using metal tools on a metal surface. This WILL end up scratching and damaging your rims. You need to use a hard Delrin or Nylon face on any tools that come into contact with the wheels. The how to from you is excellent, sorry to say the tools you are using are only any good on old used up rims that you don't care about anymore. Great technique, shitty tools (for new rims). You should consider buying some NoMAR tools for your wheel stand. NoMAR does just as it says, No marring. Best to you.
I’m guessing as much riding as he does, he is changing them often enough that his concern for how his rims look went out the window long ago. And also, who is watching your rims when you can ride like him!?
OMG i guess when you can ride as good as him you dont care for the condition or appearance/cleanliness of your hubs or rims...thats where ive been going wrong...never gonna wash wheels again...HELLO skills 😆

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I just did a 20 minute mousse replacement and it was painless. I do miss cussing during a tire change, however.
Spent 4 hrs yesterday changing front 21 inch front tire on my sons dirt bike.
Technique is everything, cant feel my hands today hehe
nice tyre changer, BTW i prefer putting tape around the inner rim to prevent dirt and moisture to get in the mousse hence prolonging its life.
I've been riding at Trials Training Center for years. Great place!
Sweet! Companies keep coming out with better and better set ups
Great video Rich - one of the best tire (bib) change videos I've seen!
Rich has a process for everything and has a explanation for everything he does or wants u to do
I bet he gets satisfaction from teaching
That I do!
Probably the best mousse change video out there. Fancy machine. I just did it on the floor with my knees 🤣

This was a massively helpful video, thanks!
Is faster/easier use this vs a rabaconda? Almost looks easier to use setup especially how you can hold bead and feed tire spoons in.
You're a fricken legend mate, loving this channel!

That ring of silver is from the bead of the tire making contact. It's normal and a lot of guys use a sharpie to fix it, if it matters to said rider.
I did not quite catch where the compressed air go.

Hey rich, tnx for the great video.
Do you lube the Bib mousse also or just the tire?
Where does the compressed air go?
I didn't catch this either. Hose pointed toward the hub and he is talking about some "gaps", doesn't make sense to me.
Any thoughts on the soft Nitro or SRT mousses?
Episode 33 is all about mousse bibs. Check it out!
Why does your hub look like it has spent a week in my daughters easy bake oven?
Maybe it's gotten extremely hot from the brake.
best instruction

A lot harder with stiff mouse. 14psi equivalent ones. I’m still trying not to destroy the tire after 2 hrs.
The unfortunate part of this is that they're on a 6 month back order for these now and they're over $100 to ship one. Bummer.
Excellent
could change a truck tire with those spoons
That’s is way harder than how granddaddy taught me Lmmfao

Yeah if only getting ahold of a DGTT wasn't like catching a unicorn
6 mo backorder on this tool at the moment 🙃

6 MONTH BACK ORDER???
What mousse are you running Rich?
korndoggocr I’ve had success with the Dunlop mousse after it wears in a bit.
@@richlarsen5114 Thanks for the reply! Do you drill it or just run it as-is?
korndoggocr I run them until they’re worn and save them for races

No one ever shows the front tire being changed.
Same method just a bit easier being they aren’t double rim locked.
Tusk rims??? Really?

Always someone who doesn’t appreciate someone else’s effort.😝
Excellent instruction
