EARLY FORD V8 Museum RARE Flathead Speed Parts Collection

Let's sink our teeth into the hot rod and racing section of the Early Ford V8 Foundation Museum in Auburn, Indiana. This place is packed with great Ford classic cars and trucks, and it includes this awesome section of hot rod and race car parts. The whole museum is awesome, but I want you to see it for yourself if you're ever in the area. The crown jewel in the collection is the 1936 Ford Tudor sedan, which has a body that is made from STAINLESS STEEL. This car is one of only 6 built, and it's been beautifully restored to a polished finish. It's part of the 1936 Ford dealership exhibit and it's spectacular!

That 4 cylinder @ 7:11 may be a Frontenac? I don't know for sure, never seen one in person, but was reading about them when I was about 12. I'm far far away from that age now...lol

Roof was a speed parts company who made OHV conversion kits for Dodge 4 cylinders in the 30s. I have seen Federal-Mogle copper heads. They don't have any water passages.

Beautiful collection!! My dad had a 1949 Ford as his first car. I told him he should have kept it. Wish he had!!! I bet that stainless car was easy to keep original, never worry about rust! Very beautiful, thank you for sharing!!

You need to visit Bunker Hill next time you're up north. Been in operation since 1956. 1/8th mile track now but was a 1/4 mile for a long part of it's history. My home track. Now owned by Top Fuel driver Tim & his wife Cori McMillen.

@ 4:16 mark the next motor is a marine set up, that why the twin magneto, and the exhaust manifolds are marine, just saw one of those motors on a vintage hydroplane site.

Wow this place is so cool. As you were going through there I was thinking that I want to pack up a large amount of extruded foam and take my duple-carver setup and duplicate a coup-le of those super rare pieces and come home and cast them out of aluminum. I am sure that if they knew I was serious that they would be all for that. I would love to build a dual magneto setup on a small flathead. Gosh there are so many different setups that could be brought back. Thank you so much for sharing this treasure trove with us.

The nineteen thirty six ford stainless Steel We had a car show in York. Pennsylvania in nineteen ninety 6 we had a car show we had all 3 of the stainless steel cars here at the same. That may be a HAL DOHC conversion; the poor man's Offy. Special head on a Ford B block. They raced into the 1950s. Grancor was the Granatelli Brother's company befor Andy bought STP. Mr. Navarro raced into the late 1960s; put an AMC 6 powered car into the Indy 500.

Roof made overhead conversions for Model B motors, and the Federal-Mogul heads are bronze. Very famed, and rare. Surprised you haven't heard of them.

I've seen the copper heads before on iron trap garage . I believe they used them on the car they call "beautiful". They are rare speed parts.
