I am told the Zephyr main input gear has the curved notch just behind the gear, like yours on the bench. Have you noticed that identifier in your travels? Good video!
I love your videos. Soooo much information and it made me reach out via email for help with a flathead transmission diagnosis and treatment. Unfortunately I never heard back, but I'm still trying to make good on the project. Keep the information flowing!
I've been patiently waiting for a new video from you and I sure wasn't disappointed can you still buy new synchros for a 37 through 47 transmission without having China quality I didn't realize you rebuilt Transmissions thank you for the video
Thanks Chuck I appreciate it! I’ve been buying my parts from The Early Ford Store, I haven’t had any problems with their quality, not sure where their parts are made
My early Ford is an English Ford Pilot The British took what the Americans had left over after the war and made bodies for the chassis Now I can establish what year the gearbox is Thanks from New Zealand
If they did their due diligence then something with the forks is either misaligned or bent without them noticing it. Let them know you’re still having problems, if it was my rebuild I would re look over it for you
Many years ago I bought from JobLot what was said to be a NOS set of Zephyr transmission gears. Recently they “resurfaced” in my garage, and I am trying to verify that the gears are actually Zephyr before I try to sell them. However, the number of teeth does not match what you show; I count 18 teeth on the input shaft and 26 teeth on the counter shaft. Second gear has 24 teeth. My eyes are not great, but did count more than once…..
I am looking for a trans for my 51AB and I really needed to hear this. Thanks
I’m glad I could help!

Really interesting!

Would you have a video that show the throw out bearing set up onside the bell housing.
Hi John, if you look at my video playlist I have quite a few transmission videos, I am sure there are good shots of the throughout bearing
I had my 3 speed light duty transmission rebuilt by van Pelt. Still jumping out of 2nd gear after I de accelerate 1950 f1 pickup.
