Everyone has heard of the Duesenberg. I have wondered about the Auburn and the Cord, as well.
Well, I have some answers: "Icons of Design, Engineering, and History" they are.

    Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Club
    1600 S Wayne St, Auburn, IN 46706
    Dear ACD Club.
A few days ago I came across an article mentioning the fact that
Ameila Earhart drove with George Putnam from Purdue University thru
Portland, Ind, New Castle , Pa, St.Marys, Pa Towanda, Pa and then
Newburgh,NY. She brought her plane back from California and I can
only imagine that George Putnam drove his White Cord Convertable down
from NY and met her and she drove home. She was returning to help
FDR get re-elected. She was a member of the ninty Nines which she
founded and there is a national chapter and local chapters.. If one of
your members or several members could drive her route and stop along
the way to promote this great Lady and the Cord it would be
    newsworthy.
I'm still putting the various news articles on this together...
contacting the news papers in the towns she stopped. But think think
a recreation of this might be intereting. I understand that the car
carried 17.5 gallons of gasoline and got 14 -15 MPG which should
give us an idea how many times they had to refuel. Several such gas
stops are noted. Amelia lived less thatn 220 days after she stopped
in Towanda.. and 14 of those were campaigning for FDR who gave her a
lot of logistic support on her flight around the world. Her campaing
was called the Women's Caravan which she used her own car. Whether it
was the Cord or not I don't know.
Please think about this project. If someone does it I'll put them
up in our local comfort in.
I think that as we get more specific data from the towns she stopped
or passed through and get the 99's involved it will take shape and
be a media event. If you are intereted in helping to recreate such a
car journey I would let the 99's know and I'm sure they would like to
participate. Maybe even having members fly the route. Amelia said
that this was the first time she drove through Towanda although she
said that she had flown over towanda before.
    Sincerely,
    Joseph Dupont

Being an Auburn , Cord or Duesenberg doesn't matter that much .
All of them were fenomenaly designed cars and beautifully put together .
I bet that to this day a ride in one of these still is an unforgettable experience .
Their style and elegance is still unmatched by anything modern .
They are truly pieces of Art .

    *"The Auburn Cord"*
*I must have 1 of these, it oozes Craftsmanship like Rolls Royce, the Style comparitive to Bugatti.* This car just wins 1st Place in Automotive Design. It was and remains a Stellar Design.
The Creative Engineers just needed their equal in Business/Management.

1997 documentary; 19:17 bald dude looks / sounds about 55-65, so born about 1932-1942
age 12 saw Cord at a used car dealer, so 1944 - 1954
age 18 bought one 1950 - 1960 -- prices wouldn't have been in the stratosphere

It's kind of better for their reputation of excellence that they when out when they did. Had they lived on their quality would have more than likely been compromised in later years, just as other elite auto makers of the 30s became "watered down" with time, such as Packard and Cadillac.

I liked the story but was very disappointed with the content. It was to be about Auburn Cord and Duesenberg at 2:22 it went to the Duesenberg and never returned to do anything on the Auburn. It is the same if you join the ACD Club you will get 1-2 pages of Auburn and the rest mostly on Duesenberg. All of which are pretty well over a million dollars now.

the bald headed Cord owner "and so at age 18, I BOUGHT ONE!" neglects to mention the silver spoon they put in his mouth when he was born. I understand it takes money to acquire one of these, but these owners are all stomach churning. Not a real man amongst them. Off in our CORD ROOM. My pals are named Moe Larry and Curly and these owners are hoity toity.

Given how he looks to be at least in his 50s, that statement isn't so "silver-spoon" as you think. Cords, like Auburns and Duesenburgs, didn't command their famous stacks of money until the late 1990s at the earliest, when knowledge and parts for them were more widely available. Buying one of these when he was 18, when values for these things were pretty much flat, isn't all that ridiculous.
Also, the concept of a "real man" is about as real as unicorn tears.

We humans have 2 Minds of Thought, our Ego-Mind aka Lower or Adolescent Mind (where all our negative energies emerge from: fear, judging self and others, prejudice, hate, envy, jealousy, insecurities, etc. It is where we are when lacking self-value, balanced self-love, where anxieties spring from, etc.)
The other is our Higher-Mind, aka Mature Mind, where all our positive energies and Wisdom reside. Here Empathy and Compassion are realized and felt.
The Higher-Mind requires us to be in the habit of Conscious Thought, then we can apply the Higher-Mind.
Some have a more natural development towards the Higher-Mind. In the Higher Thought Mind, we are not preoccupied by "what others Think", we are fully in Our true Power (our Thoughts without needing validation of others).
This is most important, because our Universe is Designed allowing us Our own Creating of our Reality. That is done through the Energy, Vibration, and Frequency of our Thoughts + Feelings + Focus X Belief.
This is Quantum Physics Science Fact and it is *Absolute.*
It is defined as the "Universal Law of Attraction"
Our Frequency receives a matching Frequency that becomes 3D Physical and what we see as our Reality.
The Frequency Scale runs from Low to High, Fear 8s the lowest and Love, Laughter, doing what are Passions are the Highest...
We have "free will", a choice to get Conscious in Thought and go to o it Higher Mind.
This is an information share, there's no judging, just a gift of informed facts.
I hope you choose to accept the knowledge and I wish you most Abundant Positive Thought Energies and your experiencing your Dreams and Desires.
All 3D material objects are "energy", from "Paperclips to Porsches", and You are Worthy of any energies you desire...
Recieve and Appreciate the Feeling of the Joy ...
      Beat Wellbeing ...
      PS:
      "Ask and ye shall Receive"
"...belief, faith the size of a Mustard Seed"
"...the body is a Temple of God"
...all by Yeshua/Jesus, 2000 years before Quantum Physics
Feels fabulous to realize we have been gifted the ability to Create Harmony, Happiness, and Wellbeing .... that truly is *"Unconditional Love".*
