Coach, can I ask for you to go into more detail about the left quad vs left hip flexor? I’ve checked a few videos on the left hook but you normally cover the hands, shoulders, the hip twist or here, about the head positioning. I feel like I have to pick my heel up every time I left hook with power which means I’m loading the quad. Not sure how to load the left hip flexor I guess.
I like this theory for power and having the shot miss you, but how can you flow from a right to left to right to left hook to the body though? This technique seems to add an extra movement between each punch of dropping the head down that "V' as you say.
If it’s the same Daniel Bodish from Pennsylvania, then Boxing rec shows he’s on a loss streak of 5 with 7-10-0 overall. Either it’s not translating into a fight for a variety of reasons or despite how good he is, there’s better boxers. Either way, I’ll never be as good as him but his demo’s are definitely helpful for me to improve as best I can.
So to be clear, the fault is where he throws his second left hook? He is starting to stand up straight when he throws his second left hook as opposed to doing it from a more loaded position over the left foot?
Do you not see where it says to pull your weight back towards your left hip flexor and not your quad?? Can you not read? The foot is even further down than the quad.
Both kids are keeping the non-punching hand on their chest rather than protecting the face, that should be corrected ASAP before it becomes a habit. Even the trainer keeps both hands on his chest when demonstrating, 0:35 not good.

The problem isn’t that he’s saying it a lot. It’s that he’s got the most annoying “yeaaaahhhh” I’ve ever heard. Who the hell pronounces it like that?
"Yeaah........yeaah"
