I’m a Catholic and I was struggling with my faith. For several years, I was suffering the Devil’s temptations, my relationship with my family was beginning to crumble. I was really in a bad shape. I was planning on leaving Catholicism and becoming an atheist forever but after watching this powerful movie, I realized I wasn’t the only one to suffer. I began to read the Bible and I felt more love of God inside my heart. It was not hate, it was not revenge but it was God’s love that entered my heart. I now living in peace and I’m living my life in Gods hands.
“The Catholic Church for her part regards with respect this impressive thrust and far-sighted planning, and with discretion offers her own contribution in the promotion and defence of the human person, and of the person’s values, spirituality and transcendent vocation. The Church has very much at heart the values and objectives which are of primary importance all to modern China: solidarity, peace, social justice …” - John Paul II, Speech, Dec. 24, 2001 Social justice in China involves a one-child per family policy. It is imposed by forced abortion and contraception.
I was greatly inspired by this movie. After watching this movie i wanted to love the world as he did.3 days later.... while in mass God shed a tiny bit of His love and mercy on me. Tears and boogers everywhere hehe I had my conversion and calling to the priesthood. Glory be to God for his servant Blessed John Paul 2!

My father was Polish... A devote Christian and Catholic.. He died in 1996 when I was only 28... The way Wojtyla spoke and acted reminded me of him... When Wojtyla died in 2005 my father died again.... 😥❤😥
I am Polish on my mother's side.My grandfather emmigrated from around Lublin in 1912. I was 13 when he was made John Paul II and he always reminded me of my grandfather. My grandfather passed 6 months after he saw a fellow Pole elected Pope and I have always been grateful that he was still around to see that.
“In these particular cases also, due consideration should be given to the discipline of the Eastern Churches for their own faithful and any suggestion of proselytism should be avoided.” - John Paul II, Directory for the Application of Principles and Norms of Ecumenism, No. 125, 1993 “First, the missionary who is attempting with God’s help to bring back Greek and eastern schismatics to unity should devote all his effort to the single objective of delivering them from doctrines at variance with the Catholic faith. For the only work entrusted to the missionary is that of recalling the Oriental to the Catholic faith …” - Pope Benedict XIV, Allatae Sunt, No. 19, July 26, 1755
Incredible movie. I'm not Catholic. Pope John Paul lived such a sad, sad life. He was able to go on and love the people and the world. He's a saint. He is a beautiful saint.
@@antoniozadrozny4226 I am a Catholic, that is a traditional Catholic who believes in all the dogmas of the Catholic Church without compromise. There is only one kind of Catholic
I am a proud Polish woman. My country has been through nothing but the worst. I’ve lost family members who fought during WW2, and know friends who lost their family members too. My country and my people went with nothing but strength to fight and to save our country. And yet still today we are fighting. Proud that we had a leader leading our country and the rest of the world with nothing but love and faith. We have a lot to be thankful for. BOG HONOR I OJCZYZNA! May God bless Poland and the whole world.
Hey, is there any chance to put subtitles in the Polish version here? I'm learning the language and I just finished it in Polish, it's SOME MUCH BETTER!! th-cam.com/video/pxfRhZ0307E/w-d-xo.html

This man without a doubt was one of the greatest human beings that ever walked this earth. No matter if you are a Christian, Jew, Buddhist or Muslim; this man set example how you can extinguish ethnic, geological difference by pure determination, forgiveness and LOVE. Love has no barriers whoever you are, its that simple. I am Polish, and our nation adores this man, we are proud that Saint John Paul II came from our soil which was tarnished by Wars, suppression, and ended up one of the most moral nations in the World...
But the true greatest human being who ever lived no matter if you are a Christian, Buddhist, Muslim except Jew is the the man that this man is talking about, Yeshua of Nazareth.
“We are dealing with ‘each’ man, for each one is included in the mystery of the Redemption and with each one Christ has united Himself forever through this mystery.” - John Paul II, Redemptor Hominis, No. 13, March 4, 1979 “The souls of those who die in mortal sin or with original sin only … immediately descend into hell, yet to be punished with different punishments.” - Pope Gregory X, Council of Lyons, ex cathedra, 1274
The fact that St. John Paul II went through so much suffering and yet was one of the happiest and most optimistic person alive still shocks me. "JOHN PAUL 2, WE LOVE YOU!!"
“In reality, the name for that deep amazement at man’s worth and dignity is the Gospel, that is to say: the Good News. I’m on a pilgrimage in Poland and we watched this on our bus journey yesterday. It’s such a great story of a man of such deep faith combined with great empathy for the trials of us ordinary humans🙏🙏
“Does it not sometimes happen that the firm belief of the followers of non-Christian religions - a belief that is also an effect of the Spirit of truth operating outside the visible confines of the Mystical Body - can make Christians ashamed at being often themselves do disposed to doubt concerning the truths revealed by God and proclaimed by the Church and so prone to relay moral principles and open the way to ethical permissiveness.” - John Paul II, Redemptor Hominis, No. 6, March 4, 1979 “When the divine founder decreed that the Church should be one in faith, in government and in communion, He chose Peter and his successors as the principle and center, as it were, of this unity.” - Pope Leo XIII, Satis Cognitum, No. 15, June 29, 1896
The Greatest Pope in all of History!!! I was blessed enough to receive the rosary that he prayed with as a gift from friends who visited him and received his blessing. I am going to start using it! It's a relic of this wonderful saint! And I will cherish it till the day I die!
@@nenabunena I don't think that it is really a contest. Every Pope has a different mission and a different calling. JP2's mission was to bring the youth of the world back to the church, Benedict was more of a contemplative pope when we needed doctrine, and Francis is inviting those that felt ostracized by the Church to come back. Of all the Pope's of the modern age Pope John Paul II is my favorite, but I don't believe that one pope is better than the other. Now definitely we've had some bad popes especially from the middle ages, but God always uses the papal office to bring the body of the Church back into relationship with him.
Edith that is so cool! I once had a rosary blessed by him but I can't find it, thankfully I still have a piece of thread from his garment that he wore. Definitely use that relic! JPII's intercession is so powerful! It has been proven by exorcists that the devil hates JPII and exorcists actually use his intercession during exorcisms. The devil was asked why he hated JPII so much, he said "because he took the youth away from me." Isn't it amazing that we will all get to meet these great saints in heaven?!
Thanks for posting this! I have had the chance to meet John Paul II once and look into his eyes. I could sense his great humility and this made a deep impression on me. I knew that moment, that this man is a true saint!
Truly. As much as I found the lead actor sympathetic, when they showed the footage of the real man at the end, he could not compare. And I say that with no disrespect but with thanks for his portrayal.
“Other religions constitute a positive challenge for the Church: they stimulate her both to discover and acknowledge the signs of Christ’s presence and of the work of the Spirit, as well as to examine more deeply her own identity and to bear witness to the fullness of Revelation which she has received for the good of all.” - John Paul II, Redemptor Missio, No. 56, Dec. 7, 1990 “But the things which the heathens sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God. And I would not that you should be made partakers with devils.” - 1 Corinthians 10:20

Every familiarity should be avoided, not only with those impious libertines who openly promote the character of the sect, but also with those who hide under the mask of universal tolerance, respect for all religions …” - Pope Leo XIII, Custodi di Quella Fede, Dec. 8, 1892
It made me appreciate more the freedom I'm enjoying now in freely exhibiting my culture and expressing my thoughts and criticisms on political and social matters especially the freedom to practice religion. I think about the many lives wasted because of genocide and the out of context idea of extreme commune or equality that went overboard and became more of an issue of racial supremacy. How societies throughout history had succumbed into projective identification and scapegoating at the expense of killing innocent individuals just to prove an ideology. I pray that we would all learn from the mistakes that we’ve made, from the wars and genocides that we have had lived/witnessed in our past. These types of movies are enlightening, eye opener for the extreme radical thinkers and the youth. May we all continue to maintain peace and may we resolve emerging political conflicts through diplomacy.

And unless your justice abounds more than theirs, you shall not enter the kingdom of God.” - Pope Benedict XIV, Quoad Provinciale, Aug. 1, 1754
“May Saint John the Baptist protect Islam and all the people of Jordan and all who participated in this celebration, a memorable celebration.” - John Paul II, prayer, March 21, 2000 “I vow to … exalt the true Faith and to extirpate the diabolical sect of the reprobate and faithless Mahomet [Islam] in the East.” - Pope Callixtus 3 (15th century, shortly after the Council of Florence), 1455
Thank you for uploading this video! I had no idea it’s also available with English sound. Beautiful movie, amazing pope. There will never be such a man again ❤️
“Also, I had the opportunity to reaffirm the sincere and open way in which the Church turns to the believers of Islam, to whom we are united by the adoration of the one God.” - John Paul II, General Audience, May 16, 2001 “... there is hope that very many from the abominable sect of Mahomet will be converted to the Catholic faith.” - Pope Eugene IV, Council of Basil, 1434
“In Christ, God calls all peoples to Himself and He wishes to share with them the fullness of His revelation and love. He does not fail to make Himself present in many ways, not only to individuals but also to entire peoples through their spiritual riches, of which their religions are the man and essential expression, even when they contain ‘gaps, insufficiencies and errors.’” - John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio, No. 55, Dec. 7, 1990 “... the people must be taught that the profession of the Catholic faith is uniquely true, as the apostle proclaims: one Lord, one faith, one baptism.” - Pope Pius VIII, Traditi Humilitati, No. 4, May 24, 1829
“The Church in Sumatra is happy that this certitude is shared by all the people of the region: with our Christian brothers and sisters who believe in the same Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and also with the followers of Islam who believe in the same good and just God.” - John Paul II, Homily, Oct. 13, 1989 "The Jews say, 'Ezra is the son of Allah;' and the Christians say, 'The Messiah is the son of Allah.' That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?" - Qur'an 9:30
I am an atheist but I have deep respect for this man and what was he preaching. He was more than just a priest. No matter what do You believe in, We should seek understanding and change for the better.
im polish and an atheist overall he was a very good pope and the most popular pope ever BUT under his reign the catholic pedophile scandal was at full swing and he did nothing about it he must have known something although im guessing he like a president is only a public figure in the catholic chrush representing the church and doesnt have full power, authority or knowledge of what was happening during his reign because he would have done something im sure. dissapointing looking back and now knowing the facts, im ashamed that in historical reference to his reign we HAVE TO remark this side as history will not forgive the church or the people who looked the other way.
@scardes1 I feel sorry for you then qnd yes you should be ashamed for misinformation and baring false witness. 1. The bulk of the pedophilia allegations and cases were from the 50s-70s before jp2 was elected. 2. By the time they came to light jp2 was very sick. His health took a turn for the worst after the attempted assassination by communists in 1980. 3. The Church has since been active in addressing, condemning, and preventing such abuses, look at the numbers. 4. As horribly bad as it was in the way the allegations and abuse was ha handled in the 50s-70s, it unfortunately was the prevailing advice and treatment given by psychiatric doctors. That such perpetrators are sick and should be handled with kid gloves instead of as criminals. 4. These types of people, pedophiles seek out any institution or position that gives them access to their victims. So it is surprising that statistically, more abuse and pedophile cases are found in protestant and secular atheist institutions like public schools by a wide margin, this does not even include Hollywood and institutions in the artistic industry. 5. An investigation was done on the nature of such cases in the Church and 97% of them were committed by homosexuals, who only comprise 5-10% of the clergy. The overwhelming numbers has made the church more strict in forbidding any ssa people from joining the priesthood, even a suspicion of it which has had an overwhelming success. They were already forbidden in the past, but many liberals within the clergy were lax about it that many slipped through and even encouraged by other ssa and pedophiles within. I hope you won't be so quick to put a scarlet letter on innocent people like making false allegations that pope Benedict was a nazi or pope pius was a nazi. Instead of going by social media, try research bec false allegations are evil and malicious by nature.
It sure would be a better place. Thank God we have his many wonderful teachings and also example of how to love God through our devotion and consecration to Our Lady.
“The Old Testament is an indispensable part of Sacred Scripture. Its books are divinely inspired and retain a permanent value, for the Old Covenant has never been revoked.” - John Paul II, Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 121, 1993 “However, they are not attempting to observe the precepts of the Old Law which as everybody knows have been revoked by the coming of Christ.” - Pope Benedict XIV, Ex Quo Primum, No. 59, March 1, 1756
“Praise to you followers of Islam in Azerbaijan, for being open to hospitality, a cherished value of your religion and your people, and for having accepted the believers of other religions as brothers and sisters. Praise to you Jewish people, who, with courage and constancy, have kept your ancient traditions of good neighborliness, enriching this land with a contribution of great value and depth.” “Praise especially to you, Orthodox Church, witness to God’s friendship with man and a hymn extolling his beauty.” - John Paul II, Address, May 22, 2002 “They should consider the testimony of Christ Himself that ‘those who are not with Christ are against Him,’ and that they disperse unhappily who do not gather with Him. Therefore, ‘without a doubt, they will perish forever, unless they hold the Catholic faith whole and inviolate.’” - Pope Gregory XVI, Mirari Vos, No. 13, Aug. 15, 1832
i'm not Catholic, and disagree with many of the Church's doctrines and positions, but there's no doubting the impact John Paul II's papacy had upon the world.
“The invitation to take part in the Prayer for Peace in Assisi is a great honour for me and it is an honour for all the followers of Avelkete Vodou whose high priest I am.” “As a leader of the traditional Vodou religion, I believe that peace is not possible as long as there are rifts, divisions and antagonisms between people.” - John Paul II , Day of Prayer for Peace in the World, Jan. 24, 2002 “For which reason conventions, meetings and addresses are frequently arranged by these persons, at which a large number of listeners are present, and at which all without distinction are invited to join in the discussion, both infidels of every kind, and Christians … Certainly such attempts can nowise be approved by Catholics, founded as they are on that false opinion which considers all religions to be more or less good and praiseworthy. Not only are those who hold this opinion in error and deceived, but also in distorting the idea of true religion they reject it …” - Pope Pius XI, Mortalium Animos, No. 2, Jan. 6, 1928
I also find this movie makes my faith deeper. A Pope who loved his Lord and his life reflected it all the way through for All people. We Catholics are not the only ones who go to Heaven, and this Pope's love for ALL peoples probably has done more to bring people to God by loving all with the love God put in his heart!
On Aug. 12, 2002, the American bishops in union with John Paul II, issued a document on the Jews, spearheaded by Cardinal William Keeler of Baltimore. “The Roman Catholic reflections describe the growing respect for the Jewish tradition that has unfolded since the Second Vatican Council. A deepening Cahtolic appreciation of the eternal covenant between God and the Jewish people, together with a recognition of a divinely-given mission to Jews to witness to God’s faithful love, lead to the conclusion that campaigns that target Jews for conversion to Christianity are no longer theologically acceptable in the Catholic Church.” “And he said to them: ‘You are from beneath, I am from above. You are of this world, I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you, that you shall die in your sins. For if you believe not that I am he, you shall die in your sin.’” - John 8:23-24 “The Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that all those who are outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans but also Jews, cannot share in eternal life and will go into the everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels, unless they are joined to the Church before the end of their lives.” - Pope Eugene IV, Council of Florence, 1441
In case anyone didn't know, there was another television movie about Pope John Paul II that came on around the same time as this one starring Cary Elwes as the young Pope John Paul and Jon Voight as the older version. It was also quite moving and uplifting.
“Yours is a proud and sturdy people, which, in meeting great cultures and neighboring powers, has remained true to its personal identity, bearing splendid fruits in art, religion and human living. Your ancestors embraced such overwhelming spiritual worlds as Confucianism and Buddhism, yet made them truly their own, enhanced them, lived them and even transmitted them to others. Wonhyo and Sosan T’bege and Yulgok eloquently express this feat. ” - John Paul II, address at airport in Korea, May 3, 1984 “We are thankful for the success of apostolic missions in America, the Indies and other faithless lands. They search out those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death to summon them to the light and life of the Catholic religion. At length they snatch them from the devil’s rule, by the bath of regeneration and promote them to the freedom of God’s adopted sons.” - Pope Gregory XVI, Probe Nostis, No. 6, Sept. 18, 1840

We need to watch more films like this. Pope John Paul 11 was such an Amazing man who Inspired people to love and to live out their Catholic faith to the full. John Paul II made Walter Kasper a Cardinal in 2001. He heads the Vatican’s Council for promoting Christian unity. “... today we no longer understand ecumenism in the sense of a return, by which the others would ‘be converted’ and return to being Catholics. This was expressly abandoned by Vatican II.” - Walter Kasper "And he said to them: Go ye into the whole world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be condemned." - Mark 16:15-16
man, the last bit of the movie showing imagery of JP 2 with his back turned putting on the pope white coat, is so moving. It's like I see the real pope JP 2 right there in that moment accepting the heavy cross God had given him and the feeling that a great chapter of history was about to begin.

Piotr Adamczyk was quite well know actor in Poland at the time when this movie was filmed, he played, among others, in Chopin's biography and in several TV series. And he said in one of the interviews that when there was information that he would play Wojtyła, sometimes people would approach him, just on the street: - You are going play Wojtyła, right? - Yeah. - My grandmother knew him and I have souvenirs of him at home, if you want, I can show you it and tell you a few things. - I'd love to, why not? And he actually went to such a person's house and listened :) The better it is seen that the film contains a lot of truth about what kind of a man the future Pope was :)
I spent most of the time crying, feeling very blessed to have lived when he was pope. I just wish that we be able to love those who are spreading death, because, and like he said, fight with love because if the nazi left they will come back under a different shape.

I've seen this film twice or more before. And always completely lose it at the end. Maybe because it's not a re-enactment anymore and it really is Saint John Paul II. Maybe because of his warm smile and spirit. Maybe just because for all his trials and tribulations through life, he showed that love really does conquer all.

Love this movie. The one thing from JPII's life that I wish they included, was his helping the young Holocaust survivor that escaped Auschwitz, & getting her to the train station. Wish that was shown in this as well.

A worthy watch, especially in light of the nihilistic, socialist fever gripping American youth in the modern era. Those who once cherished freedom and faith would do well to remember the sacrifices and lessons of past generations.
I had a dream of John Paul II . He was very tall like 50 feet like a giant and his white cassock & white cap. He was stepping very gingerly over each building which looked like an old world scene so it was probably his homeland Poland. God showed me that he was covering that country in prayer and that he was a giant among men! when I saw this movie tonight I cried my eyes out. After he was shot at in 1981 , I believe, but he survived I wrote him a letter and I told him I would continue to pray for his safety. I prayed that the Holy Spirit would fill him and he wouldfeel the grace. I got a letter back from his secretary saying these are this is really his eminence's very words: "thank you for this letter I felt the Holy Spirit when I opened it! he said, also "pray for me I'm surrounded by enemies." That is not a generic letter people, yet he stayed and lived with that stress. I love this holy brother and father in the Lord, our priest forever. He is still interceding for us! Pray for me Karol, great man and champion for God and his church.😭🙏✝️🙇🏻♀️❤

In 2001, the Vatican released a book called The Jewish People and Their Sacred Scriptures in the Christian Bible. “The definitive fulfillment will be at the end with the resurrection of the dead, a new heaven and a new earth. Jewish messianic expectation is not in vain.” “The Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and teaches that the matter pertaining to the law of the Old Testament, the Mosaic law, which are divided into ceremonies, sacred rites, sacrifices, and sacraments after our Lord’s coming … ceased, and the sacraments of the New Testament began. All, therefore, who after that time (the promulgation of the Gospel) observe circumcision and the Sabbath and the other requirements of the law, the holy Roman Church declares alien to the Christian faith and not in the least fit to participate in eternal salvation.” - Pope Eugene IV, Council of Florence, ex cathedra, 1441
I would like to add the subs to this movie, if you could open the contribuitions to the community I will upload the english subtitles, to this marvellous movie. Thanks for sharing it.
David Sallade that is beautiful.
Yeah truly beautiful...!!
The struggle is real. Keep going brother!
Praise the Lord! I think St John Paul II prayed for you.
I'm so happy for you Gods love is a blessing.
A man who was undoubtedly born to be a saint. An extraordinary human being. What a gift God gave us in John Paul II.
“The Catholic Church for her part regards with respect this impressive thrust and far-sighted planning, and with discretion offers her own contribution in the promotion and defence of the human person, and of the person’s values, spirituality and transcendent vocation. The Church has very much at heart the values and objectives which are of primary importance all to modern China: solidarity, peace, social justice …”
- John Paul II, Speech, Dec. 24, 2001
Social justice in China involves a one-child per family policy. It is imposed by forced abortion and contraception.
We where all borned to be great saints.
And I had the great honor of meeting him personally at the Vatican in December 1980..a great day in my life.

I'm very sorry.
😢
Ever time I’m sad, lonely watch this movie, this is my 16th time watching it. Each I experience I deep seated peace.

May God bless Poland and the whole world.
Hey, is there any chance to put subtitles in the Polish version here? I'm learning the language and I just finished it in Polish, it's SOME MUCH BETTER!!

I am Polish, and our nation adores this man, we are proud that Saint John Paul II came from our soil which was tarnished by Wars, suppression, and ended up one of the most moral nations in the World...

rob2049 I'd have to say that, that was the kindest, and most relevant public comment that I've ever seen on youtube.
But the true greatest human being who ever lived no matter if you are a Christian, Buddhist, Muslim except Jew is the the man that this man is talking about, Yeshua of Nazareth.
Justine Dalura except jew hahahahahaha!! agreed!!!
Especially that the jews don't even think that Jesus was a good preacher.
This is a well-made movie. Amazing story. I can't stop crying from beginning to end. Worth watching. It strengthened my faith.
Made me cry all the way almost so you're not alone.
Mine too. It's amazing how his story continues to inspire and lead people to Christ! Pope St. John Paul II pray for us!

The Greatest Pope in all of History!!! I was blessed enough to receive the rosary that he prayed with as a gift from friends who visited him and received his blessing. I am going to start using it! It's a relic of this wonderful saint! And I will cherish it till the day I die!
more than St. Peter or all the Pope's who were killed or tortured for their faith? What about Pope Pius XII who saved more than 700k Jews?
Quite a statement. Comparing him to others (let saint Peter alone) is so over the top! The greatest? Really?
@@natefechtig7533 OH my gosh I am just reading this till now. Super cool! Do you know what exorcist or book that JPII reference is from?
Thanks for posting this! I have had the chance to meet John Paul II once and look into his eyes. I could sense his great humility and this made a deep impression on me. I knew that moment, that this man is a true saint!

Truly. As much as I found the lead actor sympathetic, when they showed the footage of the real man at the end, he could not compare. And I say that with no disrespect but with thanks for his portrayal.

I watched this movie so many Times.. very inspiring
The Polish people are awesome! What an amazing life, what an amazing man, what an amazing Pope!

@@scardes1 That only shows that nobody is perfect.
What a spectacular movie. Thanks for uploading.

A deepening Cahtolic appreciation of the eternal covenant between God and the Jewish people, together with a recognition of a divinely-given mission to Jews to witness to God’s faithful love, lead to the conclusion that campaigns that target Jews for conversion to Christianity are no longer theologically acceptable in the Catholic Church.”

Piotr Adamczyk was quite well know actor in Poland at the time when this movie was filmed, he played, among others, in Chopin's biography and in several TV series. And he said in one of the interviews that when there was information that he would play Wojtyła, sometimes people would approach him, just on the street:
- You are going play Wojtyła, right?
- Yeah.
- My grandmother knew him and I have souvenirs of him at home, if you want, I can show you it and tell you a few things.
- I'd love to, why not?
And he actually went to such a person's house and listened :)
The better it is seen that the film contains a lot of truth about what kind of a man the future Pope was :)
I spent most of the time crying, feeling very blessed to have lived when he was pope. I just wish that we be able to love those who are spreading death, because, and like he said, fight with love because if the nazi left they will come back under a different shape.

“They should consider the testimony of Christ Himself that ‘those who are not with Christ are against Him,’ and that they disperse unhappily who do not gather with Him. Therefore, ‘without a doubt, they will perish forever, unless they hold the Catholic faith whole and inviolate.’”

Truly a sublime and fascinating story of an extraordinary Saint!!
“The goal is, in the light of the sublime model of the Holy Trinity, to reach a unity which implies neither absorption nor fusion.”
- John Paul II, address to the Patriarch of Romania, Oct. 12, 2002
“In particular, ensure that the faithful are deeply and thoroughly convinced of the truth of the doctrine that the Catholic faith is necessary for attaining salvation.”
- Pope Pius IX, Nostis et Nobiscum, Dec. 8, 1849
This is a great movie
What a beautiful witness to love, hope and love. One of the most loved popes ever to reach all the nations of the world. "JPII, we love you!"
“And he said to them: ‘You are from beneath, I am from above. You are of this world, I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you, that you shall die in your sins. For if you believe not that I am he, you shall die in your sin.’”
- John 8:23-24
This is such an excellent movie!!
Love this movie. The one thing from JPII's life that I wish they included, was his helping the young Holocaust survivor that escaped Auschwitz, & getting her to the train station. Wish that was shown in this as well.
“The universality of salvation means that it is granted not only to those who explicitly believe in Christ and have entered the Church.”
- John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio, No. 10, Dec. 7, 1990
“Whoever wishes to be saved, needs above all to hold the Catholic faith; unless each one preserves this whole and inviolate, he will without a doubt perish in eternity. But it is necessary for eternal salvation that he faithfully believe also in the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ …”
- Pope Eugene IV, Council of Florence, dogmatic Athanasian Creed, 1439

“When the Venerable patriarch of the Ethiopian Church, Abuna Paulos, paid me a visit in Rome on June 11, 1993, together we emphasized the deep communion existing between our two Churches: ‘We share the faith handed down from the Apostles, as also the same sacraments and the same ministry, rooted in the apostolic succession …”
- John Paul II, Ut Unum Sint, No. 62, May 25, 1995
“Wherefore, since outside the Catholic Church there is nothing perfect, nothing undefiled … we are in no way likened with those who are divided from the unity of the Body of Christ; we are joined in no communion.”
- Pope St. Leo the Great, Sermon 129
A MUST SEE FOR EVERYONE.
MORE MEN AND LEADERS LIKE JOHN PAUL II ARE NEED IN THE WORLD.
+ 40 Jahre ist es her. Danke an das polnische Volk für diesen großartigen Papa. +
very good movie thank you
A worthy watch, especially in light of the nihilistic, socialist fever gripping American youth in the modern era.

“The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. ‘The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.’”
- John Paul II, Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 841, 1993
"They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allah , and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him."

Thanx for uploading, Jonathan Warburton.
One person who I will always love and miss so much
“For her part, the Catholic Church recognises the mission which the Orthodox churches are called to carry out in the countries where they have been rooted for centuries. She desires nothing else than to help this mission and collaborate with it, as well as to be able to carry out her pastoral task for her faithful and for those who turn freely to her.”
- John Paul II, address to the Patriarch of Romania, Oct. 12, 2002
“Be not deceived, my brother; if anyone follows a schismatic, he will not attain the inheritance of the kingdom of God.”
- Pope Gregory XVI, Summo Iugiter Studio, May 27, 1832
Have no fear of moving into the unknown. Simply step out fearlessly knowing that I am with you, therefore no harm can befall you; all is very, very well. Do this in complete faith and confidence.
Pope John Paul II
It's a lovely and inspiring quote! Thanks for posting!
“I wish to repeat once again, honour also to you, the holy Orthodox Church; you opened your doors to the Catholic faithful, who were without fold or shepherd. May the Lord reward your generosity.”
- John Paul II, Homily, May 23, 2002
The Eastern Orthodox rejects the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. They refuse to accept the last 13 councils of the Roman Catholic Church. They allow divorce and remarriage.
@@John-jf8lw But Catholic Church notices if there are some true elements in other confessions
@@inmyhead6206 The Vatican II church does. Not the Catholic Church that existed for nearly 2,000 years prior to the 1960s.
“The Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that all those who are outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews or heretics and schismatics, cannot share in eternal life and will go into the everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels, unless they are joined to the Church before the end of their lives …”
- Pope Eugene IV, Cantate Domino, 1441
I love you, Pope John Paul II! God bless you, Brother Karol Pray for us, Saint Karol! xoxo :)
In 2001, the Vatican released a book called The Jewish People and Their Sacred Scriptures in the Christian Bible.
“The definitive fulfillment will be at the end with the resurrection of the dead, a new heaven and a new earth. Jewish messianic expectation is not in vain.”
“The Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and teaches that the matter pertaining to the law of the Old Testament, the Mosaic law, which are divided into ceremonies, sacred rites, sacrifices, and sacraments after our Lord’s coming … ceased, and the sacraments of the New Testament began. All, therefore, who after that time (the promulgation of the Gospel) observe circumcision and the Sabbath and the other requirements of the law, the holy Roman Church declares alien to the Christian faith and not in the least fit to participate in eternal salvation.”
- Pope Eugene IV, Council of Florence, ex cathedra, 1441
