Like most lyrical Enya songs, the lyrics can be understood and interpreted in a few different ways. The meaning of Someone Said Goodbye that seemed the most deep to me was from this comment songmeanings.c... - the idea that it is about depression, suicidal thoughts, and possibly suicide itself. 💔💭

I still think Someone Said Goodbye would have made a better single than Amarantine, and the remix was rather good too. 😎🎵
It might have been Nicky Ryan's remix too, rather than someone else remixing, for the Only Time remix.
One of the most catchy Enya songs (the original version of Someone Said Goodbye included) and also amongst the most 'empty' and sad, when the lyrics and deeper meaning are considered. 💭
Despite that, hopefully this can also be enjoyed for the music itself, and sounds good through speakers and headphones 😊🎧
