    The Raspberries’ “Overnight Sensation” included a snippet of “Go All the Way” after the second fade-out.

    Hi Tom:
    This is a fun topic! At the end of side one of The James Gang's first album; "Yer Album," the innermost groove keeps repeating: "Turn Me Over." The innermost groove on the second side keeps repeating: "Play Me Again."
    On the subject of Joe Walsh, at the end of side one of "Barnstorm," after "Mother Says," an acoustic guitar comes on, not really playing anything in particular. And this really creepy, lunatic-like laughter comes in over top and fades out.
    At the end of side two of "Focus 3" by Focus, the song "Answers? Questions! Questions? Answers!" ends with feedback from Jan Akkerman's guitar. It fades out into either the sound of weeping or the sound of laughing, it's hard to tell which. The sound continues throughout the trailoff groove. That feature is missing from the Music on Vinyl edition.
    An obvious one is "Have You Heard" part 2 by The Moody Blues from "Threshold of a Dream." It ends with the same sound as heard at the beginning of the album and continues throughout the trailoff groove.
    On side one of The Shadows of Knight's "Back Door Men" album between the tracks "Three for Love" and "Hey Joe," is a short untitled track that's completely backwards.
    On the Tommy James and The Shondells album "Getting Together," side one ends with "So Deep with You." It has a hard ending - not a fadeout, which is followed by harmony voices singing in a completely different key from the track that just ended, a very simple melody with the lines: "Turn it over, my friend. Turn it over, my friend." Side two opens with what sounds like someone running up to the mic, and slightly winded, he sighs and says: "Side Two." Also, on their "Crimson and Clover" album, after side one seems to end with "Do Something to Me," a piano is played the whole way up the keyboard, with delay added to the highest notes. They're left to fade almost entirely away before the track stops.
    I know I'll kick myself in the shins for not thinking of more, but these were the ones that immediately came to mind. Incidentally, "Boy" is the only U2 album I own. Never cared for the others, but I really like "Boy!" Fun topic Tom!!!

    I had that Rascals 45 also in the 60s. Always loved the song and funny bit at the end. I think Train In Vain was a late addition to the album. At the end of Vinyl by Dramarama (great album, btw), there’s an uncredited song called Steve is Here. Each second of the song is a separate track, so that when it’s done, the CD player shows that it’s on track 99.

    Quick bit of info...The ending to "It's Wonderful", as I remember it in 8th grade, was their message to a Happy New Year, since the single was released toward the end of the year and was only to be heard only on that end of the year single. Also at the same time, on the Rolling Stones "Their Santanic Majesty's Request", at the end of Side One we hear a strange, slow hodgepod of sounds. This was also intentional for the release of the album around the end of the year, for if you speed up the hodgepod of noise you can plainly hear their version of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" Speed it up, listen to it, It's as plain as day...!

    At the end of track 2 on The Grays "Ro Sham Bo" cd, there is some back masking and when you play it forward (get out your Fostex X-15's for this one), It says or sings, "The performing dog jumped through the ring of fire and burned his little ass and said my god the song is about to end the song is about to end". If you watch R.E.M.'s early video compilation "Succumbs", the snipet you mentioned ending the Reconing album is tacked onto both the beginning and the end of James Herbert's film / long form video "Left of Reckoning", though it actually is from the "right" side of the album. @@tomrobinson5776 Hey Tom, I've always had a soft spot for that album. It's his first solo outing after he left the James Gang. He was still finding himself and a year later, Rocky Mountain Way paved his way. The Barnstorm album is pretty experimental and often melodic. Often mysterious. Not really classified as a "party album" He and Pete Townshend were exchanging the fascination of the ARP-2600 synthesizer during this period and Walsh is applying a lot of it through the album. His acoustic guitar playing on the album is very beautiful and mystical. It's easy to find in pretty good shape. Let me know if you'd like to maybe collaborate together with a future video on it! I'd love to add my two cents worth if you think it's worth talking about. Take care Tom.

    Interesting topic, but I'm having a hard time remembering the many that I have a feeling you've forgotten too. One that I do remember is the censored snippet at the end of the original LP of We're Only In It For The Money, by The Mothers and Invention. Verve objected to a verse from the song "Mother People" , so it was cut out and placed, backwards, at the end of the side. If you turn the record backward with your finger (as I did) or listen to the overdubbed & remastered CD (only reason to do so), it goes like this: "Better look around before you say you don't care/Shut your fucking mouth about the length of my hair/How would you survive/If you were alive/Shitty little person." Strong language for 1968! Other than that, all I can vaguely remember is that Teenage Fanclub buried hidden things in their CDs. I can't believe that the the marimba introduction was removed from "Rikki Don't Lose That Number"! Sacrilege!

    • @tomrobinson5776
      @tomrobinson5776  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@simonagree4070 Regarding that snippet at the end of We’re Only In It For The Money, was that only on the first pressing on Verve? I have the reissue on Zappa Records and it’s not on there. Was the snippet right after The Chrome Plated Megaphone Of Destiny?

    • @simonagree4070
      @simonagree4070 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As I recall, any Verve LP of that record will have the backwards snippet at the end of the record, along with a few "snorks" (I haven't listened to it in this century, and my record player is on the fritz right now.) When Zappa got the rights and masters, he proceeded to restore the edited verse, but seemed the bass and drums tracks to be too deteriorated and/or ill-played for his standards, and had them re-recorded by members of his band at the time. Thus was born a campaign of invective by Zappa fans toward their idol, for ruining the record. Eventually, Zappa capitulated and released a CD of the original, with Roy and Jimmy restored. Oh, and I've heard at least one live recording by the Flo and Eddie Mothers singing the censored verse.
