Sunflower| Edible Oil Crops Promotion Project

AFA- Nuts and Oil Crops Directorate as the lead agency is implementing the Edible
Oils Crops Promotion Project whose overall objective is to increase the production of
oil crops.
The five-year (2023-2028) project shall address increasing the production of
Sunflower, Canola, Coconut and Soya beans from the estimated 60,000ha to
250,000ha in five years, and increasing productivity from 80,000MT to 240,000MT,
providing raw material for processors, and utilizing the oil seed crops by-products for
commercial uses.
