I researched Cassava for a few University courses, and can say most varieties have high concentration of natural cynanides in the root tubers, and all native cultures using growing Cassava knew how to soak away or ferment the flour, otherwise the cynanides would accumulate in the body. Its for land so poor that only Cassava will grow.

This guy have done zero research wrt the crops, as a member of family who used to grow cassava, i can confidently say that this crop will never make you rich.
As a guy from a LONG LONG line of farmers with an old family farm myself, and some knowledge, I agree. Cassava is grown in Africa and the pacific and it's particularly worthless because of being grown in countries where labour is almost worthless and it's only eaten by those people.

Very educative video to become rich,knowledgeable and self employable particularly for farmers with small land holdings.Modern day farmers are doing this quite successfully,those who take it seriously and keep going beating all odds what all comes their way.Cheap labor,use of pesticides,marketing of produce are drawbacks that discourage farmers to adopt these crops.Could you tell us more on cotton growing,like which crops can be mixed in cotton fields to help and protect cotton plants from boll worms and all other insects and flies.Thanks.

Cotton is hard on the soil and crop rotation is key (for this monocrop system in place). However, the crop will only allow you to break even. Farmer's profits come from elsewhere.

They certainly can but bana grass is easily killed with herbicide. Bamboo can be QUITE profitable if you don't ruin the entire neighbouring ecosystem.

We have it here in Australia but generally they only grow it in tropical regions and there's paperwork and permits

Only corporation farming can make money that adds 3-4% to the bottom line of a corporation's books. 3-4% could mean $1b for a large corporation in a year. but for regular joes trying to do 1acre, thats prolly like $150 a year .... Not worth the trouble

I noticed that not one berry was on the list, that’s a mistake. Also, pumpkins, watermelon, and cantaloupe are all highly profitable because they can be used as feed for cows, chickens, pigs, and sheep in addition to selling the items individually.

But as a south African, if you have 10 acres or more it's probably worth a shot because the chinese artificially raised the price to over double what it was 5 years ago.
