    Great video Laura, very interesting about the solar panel sheds build free of charge. It’s a pity that deal isn’t available in Ireland. Condolences on your grandmother that passed recently.

      Might have something to do with the cost of building a shed in Ireland being twice that of france

    Thanks Laura, good to see that you all look healthy.
    I wish that it was mandatory for all commercial roofs to be covered in solar panels which would be great for the planet. When feeding hay, have you ever thought of wearing a light weight mask - farmers lung is lung cancer from the dust in corn stores and hay/straw when feeding livestock. I have lost a most lovely farmer near me.
    Lovely drone footage, lovely farm, lovely lim cattle !
    Take care, stay safe and so glad you are all still there smiling.

    There are companies in England that will put solar on you're house and you get to use the electricity, they get the payments. Don't know about farm buildings though but its a great initiative over there. I've got solar on my house and it pays for itself in about eight years mine has just about payed for itself now, now I just want batteries to store the power for the evenings.
    Good luck you guys.

    I love this video! Laura, Dad and Mum are one of the reasons why *"France is the world's most food sustainable country"* (World Economic Forum 2018 11 france-is-most-food-sustainable-country-u-s-and-u-k-faltering) "France's aggressive measures to tackle *food waste, promote healthy lifestyles and adopt eco-farming techniques* helped it top a ranking of nations,.. The Netherlands, Canada, Finland and Japan rounded out the top fives, in an index published by the Economist Intelligence Unit, which assesses their food sustainability.. *The US and Britain failed to make the top 20 of 67 nations that were graded on food waste, sustainable agriculture, and health and nutrition.* "France has been in the vanguard of policies and measures to reduce such losses," said Martin Koehring, the index's author.." Keep up the good job, Laura.

    Solar panels more practical in France than Ireland due to far more sunlight . Great video Laura.

      It's the same SUN that shines in France as it is in Ireland you know?

      @@tedhead3162 yes it is but vastly different in quantity and intensity-how would anyone ever even query that? Ireland never sees many days over 30c plus from early April to about the end of October there are regularly temperatures of 25c plus. I know this because I life in the south west of France.

      @@oliver69cork46 temperature has nothing to do with pv. and Ireland have longer days in the summer and shorter in winter than France so for the year it averages out. probably the reason why it's not in Ireland yet is because someone has to figure out how they can benefit privately before they get there pals in the dail to give the go ahead

    • @oliver69cork46
      @oliver69cork46 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shaneoreilly8464 how could anyone be so wrong? Between climate differences and hours of sunshine its totally a world apart. Even in France when putting up solar panels,the area is estimated in relation to kw output. Its on average 1750hrs sunshine in the nord (pas de calais)and 2750 in the French riviera(cote d azur)!!! And that's in France nevermind ireland . It does not average out. Longer summer days,by how much? Shorter winters,really? Here winter in the south west is only a few weeks whereas in cork its October to March easily. Love to see your proof if any????Even in Ireland there difference in sunshine hours according to area. Go and see sunshine hours charts for Europe and you'll enlighten yourself.

      @@oliver69cork46 well I meant to write "kinda". averages out which it kinda does but it's about 200 hrs less a year but for someone to say " how could anyone be so wrong" and you talking about temperatures in pv panels, have a good long look at yourself.

    do you have wild animals over there? I'm from kentucky in the usa, just found your channel.

    • @Sayitlikitiz101
      @Sayitlikitiz101 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are many wild animals in France: deer, rodents, birds of prey, beavers, boars, red foxes, migrant birds, ... There are few predators like wolves and bears but they are mostly confined to the wild mountain areas and coming back from near extinction. The agricultural heartland is mostly free of wild animal issues, save for boars whose population have exploded in the last decades and are hunted extensively.

    That's a great way to cover the cost of a shed and it's a fare big one. In ireland they don't pay for micro generation supplying power to the grid and probably won't for many years to come.

    France produces electricity with 56 nuclear power plants + 2,300 hydroelectric installations, producing 25,500 MW, equivalent to 20 nuclear power plants, 1st hydropower production in the EU. Natural gas power plants account for only 2%, coal for 0.3%, going to 0% next year... So French electricity is the greenest in Western EU: *National emissions reported to the UNFCCC and to the EU Greenhouse Gas Monitoring Mechanism* 2019 CO2e emissions from electricity production (g CO2e/kWh): Poland *751* Bulgaria *421* Czech Republic *431* Germany *350* Ireland *316* Spain *276* Italy *248* UK *230* Belgium *207* Denmark *189* Austria *102* France *56*

    Very interesting Laura. My wife and I have been to France but that was awhile ago. We dairy, attended "Space" , the big dairy expo, great experience. I see you moving your cattle but how do you do it? Do you use a four wheeler? Thought a girl like you with an affinity for animals would use a horse. Once again, interesting your farming life as immigrants in France.
