  • President Biden and first lady Jill Biden will appear at Tulane University in New Orleans Tuesday afternoon for the announcement of up to $150 million in federal funds for cancer surgery research.
The eight recipient institutions, which include Tulane, Rice University, Johns Hopkins and the imaging company Cision Vision, among others, are participants in the Precision Surgical Interventions program of the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). Together, their goal is to improve accuracy and precision in cancer surgery, to reduce the need for repeated procedures when treating patients.
The event is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. EDT.

He could do a triple pirouette off the nose of a dolphin and no one would care.
A far more interesting event would be someone asking his VP why she lied about his mental state for so long and put Tulsi on a terror watchlist.

I'm so sorry. You sound like you lost a loved one a while back. I have lost a few, too. And now 2 other family members are battling different types of cancer. I think the point of President Biden's and First Lady, Jill's announcement today, was to let us know they are STILL engaged in the battle. Incidentally, just pumped in another $150 Million toward the research to eradicate cancer. And by the way, Joe Biden Was NOT the president 17 years ago. I'm just saying. And I truly am sorry for your loss....

We need to create an app like unemployment but from donations on the ground.. In my city of Tampa Florida the homelessness rate is 57 per 10,000 residents I figure each household is around four people so that's 57 per 2,500 workers.. If each worker donates 25 dollars per month is 62,500 dollars per month per 57 people 0r 1,096 dollars per month each.. let's work hard, automate, be adults, and have funds!!

I question whether what your medical system describes as 'cancer' is even really cancer. My mom and other doctors used to show me simple genetic mutations as though this were medically of great concern; whereas if they understood the medical science book of 'The Dragons of Eden' by Dr. Carl Sagan, a world renowned biologist and evolutionist and thus a medical expert of a kind no longer with us, they would understand such mutations are a fairly routine part of constructive animal and especially human evolution. This same medical evolution invented and then allowed the anarchic spread of COVID-19 where I had far better medical advice, metric and published, at every stage; and a far more desirable and naturally evolved obelisk, too.

The Strait of Hormuz that allows shipping to the Indian ocean is perhaps the most important global asset that will be threatened by war between Israel and allies against Iran and its own. If Iran block the Strait of Hormuz, how will the action affect the US economy?
The Strait of Hormuz is the world's most important oil chokepoint, with an average of 21 million barrels of crude oil, condensate, and petroleum products flowing through it daily in 2022. This equates to approximately 21% of the world's total petroleum liquids consumption.
To calculate the annual value of this oil in US dollars, we can use the following steps:
Calculate the total volume of oil transported annually:
    21 million barrels/day * 365 days/year = 7.665 billion barrels/year
Determine the average price of oil:
The price of oil fluctuates daily. For this calculation, we can use an average price for 2022, which was approximately $96 per barrel.
Calculate the total value of oil transported:
    7.665 billion barrels/year * $96/barrel = $735.36 billion/year
Therefore, the approximate value of oil flowing through the Strait of Hormuz in 2022 was $735.36 billion.
Please note that this is just an estimate, as the actual value can fluctuate based on changes in oil production, consumption, and prices. Additionally, this calculation only considers the value of oil and does not include the value of other goods and services that may also be transported through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway located between Iran and Oman. It connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, which in turn leads to the Indian Ocean.
    Control of Traffic
While the Strait of Hormuz is considered international waters, Iran holds significant influence over the traffic passing through it. Here's why:
Geographical Advantage: Iran controls several islands within the Strait, which gives it a strategic advantage.
Military Presence: Iran maintains a strong naval presence in the area, capable of monitoring and potentially influencing maritime traffic.
Threats and Actions: Iran has in the past threatened to close the Strait, highlighting its ability to disrupt global oil supply.
    However, it's essential to note:
International Waters: The Strait is considered international waters, meaning all nations have the right to free navigation.
Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS): The UN's International Maritime Organization has established a TSS to regulate traffic flow and prevent accidents.
In summary, while Iran exerts significant influence over the Strait of Hormuz due to its geographical and military advantages, it does not have exclusive control. The Strait is crucial for global oil trade, and its strategic importance is a major factor in regional and international tensions.
