jI ust had a balloon sinuplasty for all three sinuses on each side of the nose and then turbinate coblation on the large inferior turbinates on each side (know as RFTV). It's going well so far. the actual procedure I felt nothing at all really just some pressure and crackling sounds when the balloon expanded. The coblation was literally 10-15 seconds per side. Breathing is fine hopefully it helps long term. Edit: it only worked about 3 months for me then sinuses closed again. I wouldn’t recommend.
@@walidzein1 awesome. 3 weeks from surgery so not claiming victory yet, but no migraines at all, minimal sinus pressure as compared to pre-surgery, very little congestion, better sleep, and a definite measurable improvement in breathing. Still affected by allergies but it's not closing me up completely like it was before surgery. The complete blockages pre-surgery were leading to the migraines and pressure that was knocking me out by late afternoon a couple days a week. Hoping it continues my nose is still healing. all the best to you.
I had a 20+ year Afrin addition so I was advised to only use it if I was suffering from claustrophobia at night or on a cotton ball to reduce active nasal bleeding. Also, I bled a lot the day of the procedure and did not sleep well for the first 2-3 days. I went back to work 3 days after the procedure, but did not feel well on the 4th day. It is day 5 and I feel pretty good - breathing better than ever but still washing out occasional blood clots and mucus. But not nearly as bad as the first few days. Also, no need the breathing juice all week.
I had done it on 23rd its 25th today. Fortunately my nose didn't clogged after procedure. on aftercare paper I can blow nose after 24h... I did blow my nose gently while nasal rinse. I have mild pressure/,pain around nose so taking Tyrol. I get confused each dr says slightly differently things...
I had mine done by a different doctor, painful as hell during and for two weeks afterwards. I was told to do a sinus rinse 4-5 times a day, which I did, and ended up with a bacterial sinus infection 3 weeks after the procedure! I am currently on amoxicillin and feeling slightly better, airways are open more but probably because I use Afrin sometimes. I suppose another 4 weeks will be a good time to make a judgment whether this was a success or a failure.
@@kauaireed9006 Somewhat but if you have allergies no matter how large of a hole they drill into your sinuses you can’t avoid getting clogged up. I would check with an allergist first, get tested and see if you can avoid the procedure with simple antihistamines etc. I wish I would have done that, the entire thing was a nightmare for me. I am still having issues with sores and being extremely clogged. I have been out of town for a few months, my next stop is at the allergists.
@@atomic_____ Hi, One of the reasons I have had issues after the procedure is s I unknowingly had acute myeloid leukemia, cancer. My immune system was shot so I just recently healed from the sinus infections, doing well with regard to that. I have had four cycles of chemo and just about to be admitted to City of Hope hospital for a stem cell transplant. I suppose had it not been for the cancer I would have healed a lot sooner. Thanks for asking.
@@Gautham9125 Oh I see, and they knew that after/during the Balloon Sinuplasty?? See I'm having this done as have maxillary sinus infection that have had for a number of years in both sinuses. And also have pop/clicking in my ears with high pitched sound which been told due to a Euchastian tube infection! So will be having a dilatation as well via the NHS on local an anaesthetic!
I just had this done, as I have suffered for decades, most of my life breathing through my mouth from broken noses, congestion, sleep apnea, ear tubes, etc. My MD doctor made the referral. The ENT did not prepare me nor inform me with any visual aides, a model or explanation of what was going to happen. I was gassed out for it for about two hours. I awoke in post OP and began to go into horrid intense pain like I've never experienced before. Not my nose at all. My eyes began to burn like they were on fire and my brain and scalp began to hurt along with the back of my neck, so bad that I began yelling in pain uncontrollably, my blood pressure and pulse went through the roof until I went into code. I could no longer feel my body or move it and locked up, but I could still hear what was going on. I was waiting for my beeping pulse to go flat as it was racing. I started to go up out of my body and only one nurse began yelling at the others for help. They shot something's into my IV that brought me back, my BP and pulse slowed down. I was delirious and could hear the nurse berating the anastesologyst. Thus, three weeks later, I breathe a little better, but I feel "different" as a whole. I've consulted with several other providers and they think that I was "over gassed" judging by the result's and they guessed that they put the overhead lights too close to my eyes or did not cover them and may have burned them, as I could not see for a few hours. They could not explain why my scalp still hurts to this day, but is better. It was two or three days later that I became upset and realized that I suffered from unprofessional treatment. The one nurse actually saved my life, I believe this. I was never given any empathy during the complaint process, which is still underway. They have been stonewalling me, as this is a large clinic connected to a hospital. I believe that this is probaly a good procedure, but do yourself a favor and get the best there is and do your homework. Have a witness with you as much as possible, before and after. I pray that no one ever has to go what I went through! God Bless
I had this done on Friday.
It was more painful than I expected, and far bloodier.
But it seems to be a bit better.
Did you have a turbinate reduction, too?
