Nucky Thompson (Board walk empire) and Saul Goodman (Better call Saul) should really really be on the list!! Both great antiheroes with amazing backstories.
Great list, but I'm sort of disappointed that Saul Goodman wasn't mentioned anywhere. I don't know if that's because people wouldn't call him an anti-hero, but in my opinion he is up there with some of the top picks. He is a character that is extremely immoral and acts off of his personal needs, but we still end up rooting for him throughout the show as he does these immoral things. IDK I just found it surprising not to see him on the list.
My favorite Antiheroes are Klaus Mikaelson (The Vampire Diaries/ The Originals), John Constantine (Constantine/ Arrow/ DC'S Legends of Tomorrow), Frank Castle AKA The Punisher (Netflix's The Punisher), Also Dr. Gregory House (House) I would want to have him as my Doctor.
How are you going to place anybody above Tony Soprano lol Walter White wouldn’t exist without Tony Soprano. Great list guys but I’m staggered anybody would honestly say White is above Soprano.
8:15 If someone is questioning whether or not he is doing the right thing, they are either a fool or intentionally misleading themselves. If anyone who has experienced that kind of bond knows that there is no option B. There is only option A, and option a is, he will protect his adoptive daughter at all costs. The moment somebody becomes a threat to her, that idea of a line being crossed goes out the window. X erased that line the moment they became a threat. With that, there was no such thing as mercy or forgiveness.
Warning! SPOILERS on the number 1 of Mojo's list and about the show itself which provides us with the number 1 Anti-Hero. At 13:45 you mention about Mr. White 'This educator originally started cooking up illegal substances with a former student to get enough money to survive.'. This is not true. Not enough money to pay his bills is not the reason he 'breaks bad' and starts using his formidable talent for chemistry to cook up batch after batch of the highest quality crystal meth ever produced. He finds out he has cancer, as we all know by now, and hears he has not long left to live (tops 2 years). He has a handicapped son, and a wife who is pregnant with their second child (who turns out to be a little girl). As a high-school teacher he never earned much money. It was enough to pay their bills, have a nice house and a car, and even go on a small holiday once in a while. With the cancer diagnose and the 2 year prognoses he realises he will leave his family behind in dire financial circumstances. They are okay now, no real debt but not real savings either. However, the upcoming hospital bills, him not being able to work, and the added costs of a baby will push them deep into the red. He doesn't want to leave his wife and children behind like that. He doesn't want to be the reason his son and daughter will never be able to go to college. He doesn't want to be the cause for them ending up on food stamps - or even worse.... After seeing a TV clip about a ride-along TV crew witnessing the Police raiding a meth lab he recognizes/identifies the set-up and also sees where he can improve this home made meth lab. He asks his brother in law, who is a DEA agent, if he could come on a ride along after the brother in law brags about a meth lab he recently raided himself and how much money there usually is found at theses labs. Mr. White tags along on a meth-lab raid and while waiting in the car for the DEA agents to clear out the place he sees one of his former chemistry students climb out a second floor window from the neighbours house. The former student, Jessie Pinkman, is extremely nervous and makes eye contact with Mr White. He, with his eyes, begs Mr. White to not say anything and flees the scene. Mr. White then is called inside where the studies the homemade, improvised, meth-lab. He quickly realises he can do this, and a lot better, creating a far superior product. He needs help though, with eg the distribution. This why he seeks out the scene fleeing former student, Jessie, in the hopes they can, together, earn a lot of money in a very short time. Mr. White then makes a calculation. Adding up, not forgetting a single thing, all the costs his family will make, adjusted for inflation. Costs ranging from groceries, to doctors visits, to college fees, to any and all what money is needed for. This is the figure he is after, to, when he passes away from the cancer in max 2 years, give to his wife and children so they can live care-free, financially at least, until both kids are old enough to take care of themselves. That is why he does all this, and not because he doesn't have enough to survive. Thanks for your videos.
I wouldn’t really consider Joel on this list. Due to the fact that the character isn’t originally from the show he is a character adapted from a video game. I consider Joel a video game anti-hero.
Iif I had to choose, Breaking Bad would be my all-time favorite show, Sopranos being a VERY close 2nd, BUT I do think Tony Soprano is a more interesting, complex and just overall a slightly better character than Walter White. Don't get me wrong, Walter White has maybe the best character arc on what was a perfect show, but Tony was super interesting from the very first episode till the blackout
It's a fan list, so everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but the ball was DROPPED on this list. No Vic Mackey???? As an even honorable mention, which still would have been criminal. He's one of the first great anti-heros and an all timer.
In the new ones, I could include LOGAN ROY from Succession. But its a pretty good list. The protagonists of the best series in history are there. Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Mad Men, The Wire 👏🏼
Tony Soprano should be number one. More nuanced, more charming, more compelling, more interesting. Without Tony Soprano, there would be no Walter White as Anti Hero
I'm not knocking putting him on the list, but I developed a greater appreciation and understanding of "Breaking Bad" once I joined the "Walter White was always the villain" school of thought.
During seasons 1-4, Walt was an antagonist. It was during S5 that Walter White was a villain. But it was only by the end of the show, where Walt redeemed himself to the anti-hero level, by committing the selfless act of saving Jessie.
yeah, wendy byrd was fucking ruthless. marty tried his hardest to get out of the mess but wendy wold get them in deeper and deeper. as much danger was involved, she liked it.
Well Jamie Lannister is one cool anti hero from GoT .But in I would put Tony Sparano and Walter White as two cool anti heroes ,And Dexter Morgan is another cool one .It's just his methods taking the bad dude is the only never liked ,But a cool show overall .
Nope nope nope, the fact Negan from The Walking Dead wasn’t once mentioned on this list is an outrage and outright disgrace!! The man did absolutely vile things to keep SO MANY in line during a time where the dead roamed the Earth, yet he redeemed himself and then some by the end of the series! Plus, no one has a more badass backstory…once more, all of this has been nothing more than a popularity contest…
How is Walter White an anti-hero? He became a full-blown villain when he let Jesse's girlfriend choke on her own vomit while incapacitated. Not to mention poisoning a child. He is one of the villains of the show, who is at odds with other villains!
He let her choke to protect Jesse and "Yes, I am sorry about Brock! But he's alive, isn't he?! He's fine, just as I planned it! Don't you think I knew exactly how much to give him? That I had it all measured out?! Come on! Don't you know me by now?". It's pretty evil stuff, but definitely not pure evil.
@@tpog1 Protect Jesse? From who, his lover? Jesse didn't need protection, Walter's business did. He let the girl die so that Jesse would not leave. This is the first truly evil moment in the series. Also, by the time Walter poisoned Brock, he was lying to Jesse almost regularly. I won't be surprised if that dialog he gave Jesse was nothing but manipulation. Walter started out as an anti-hero, sure, but once the big money started flowing in, he chose the path with the most money, no matter who lived and died (except his own family and Jesse, of course).
Tobias Beecher--Oz; Raymond Reddington--The Blacklist; J.R. Ewing--Dallas; Alice Morgan--Luther....so, so many that didn't even appear on you kids' computer screen....
The Joel Miller Bandwagon leaves out better choices (especially after just 1 season) such as Phillip and Elizabeth Jennings, - The Americans Dr. Gregory House and John Luther.
Talking about Joel Miller saying that it becomes a demeanor/doing bad things for 1 person.. You can think about your own PRESIDENT body guard... doing whatever to protect him/her.. Just another person.. For Joel that one person was the most important person
next one is tv heroes, my top 2 are, Guy williams as Diego/Zorro in the disney show and Dean Cain as Clark/SUperman in both cases I think the shows had a much better balance between the normal person and the hero also in both cases both played Diego and Clark as a rounded guy not to dweepy as often in the movies. Also who can resist the smile of guy williams
You can tell these people have never lived in the real world. Of course someone will put one person ahead of everyone else. That's what loving family and friends is about. Some of this list shows what happens when that scenario fails. Castle, Butcher, Bauer....take your pick.
I identify mostly as a Frank Castle Punisher type. I've never seen the show with my Real Namesake, but I can for sure tell you, I WILL BE THE LAST OF US!

This should’ve been a top 20 instead
Nucky Thompson (Board walk empire) and Saul Goodman (Better call Saul) should really really be on the list!!
Both great antiheroes with amazing backstories.
This list is 99.1% pure
No Vic Mackey from The Shield…? My guy is being severely overlooked
Agree 100%
I think most people probably don't even remember him, but he should be in the top ten. Certainly more so than Joel.
Came here to say the same.
Indeed. A true antihero also.
Great list, but I'm sort of disappointed that Saul Goodman wasn't mentioned anywhere. I don't know if that's because people wouldn't call him an anti-hero, but in my opinion he is up there with some of the top picks. Tough to pick anyone ahead of Tony Soprano but the top 5 are pretty damn good
My favorite Antiheroes are Klaus Mikaelson (The Vampire Diaries/ The Originals), John Constantine (Constantine/ Arrow/ DC'S Legends of Tomorrow), Frank Castle AKA The Punisher (Netflix's The Punisher), Also Dr. Gregory House (House) I would want to have him as my Doctor.
I have a feeling by the end of the upcoming series finale season, Barry will earn an official top 10 spot.
How are you going to place anybody above Tony Soprano lol
Walter White wouldn’t exist without Tony Soprano. Great list guys but I’m staggered anybody would honestly say White is above Soprano.
Frank Underwood is definitely top 10 , for me top 3
walter white is the greatest written character in the history on television

I need the fans here to explain about Vic Mackey.
I don’t watch a lot of movies bro with anti heroes especially

Probably my favorite antihero is Rumpelstiltskin from Once Upon a Time.
Me too
Drug dealers are NOT antiheroes. They're villains. 100%.
10:42 there is nobody better than Tony Soprano. Not one of these others would be here without Tony Soprano.

I feel like some of those characters are closer to anti-vilains than anti-heroes.
“You know the business, and I know the chemistry.”
- Walter White
Saul Goodman should be here, altough I'm not certain if his an anti-hero or a straight-up villain .
But Walter White won so i can´'t be to angry-
In the new ones, I could include LOGAN ROY from Succession. But its a pretty good list. The protagonists of the best series in history are there. Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Mad Men, The Wire 👏🏼
Where's saul ? Walt couldn't have done it without saul
saul goodman?
Yes! He's the best imo
It’s all good, man!
Cant have two characters from the same franchise, that's this channel's rule.
I’ve only seen the first series of Mad Men and seen only first 8 series of Dexter.
we all can agree that walter white is number 1🥸
Nope #2 Tony soprano is the original
@Arren you're goddam right
@Richard Rodrigues I like this comment 😂
WTF about Pinkman
You god damn right
Hmm I’ve never thought of Omar Little as an antihero🤔 I thought of him a hood hero, a G. I like antihero for Omar. Jax Teller should have been higher.
Tony Soprano should be number one. More nuanced, more charming, more compelling, more interesting. Without Tony Soprano, there would be no Walter White as Anti Hero
nah
He's more like a villain than antihero
@@umberto7773 nope

Raymond “Red” Reddington should be on the list.

GLAD THAT THE LAST OF US IS INCLUDED IN THIS!
Now, you need an antiVillian one next.
RAYLAN GIVENS
nah, Vic Mackey deserves to be on this list! He gets away with everything and still loses his family in the end.
My favorite is Lester Nygaard from Fargo, though Elliot Alderson from Mr. Robot is also a good choice.
Lester is a 'tard
Vic Mackey getting the shaft. Travesty!
Walter is a straight up villain, it should be Rick grimes at 1
During seasons 1-4, Walt was an antagonist. It was during S5 that Walter White was a villain. But it was only by the end of the show, where Walt redeemed himself to the anti-hero level, by committing the selfless act of saving Jessie.
Damn Not 1 Neal Caffrey
ikr, maybe he's not the traditional kind of antihero like dexter or smth, but he's still an awesome and complex antihero
yeah, wendy byrd was fucking ruthless. marty tried his hardest to get out of the mess but wendy wold get them in deeper and deeper. as much danger was involved, she liked it.

Always such bad lists but I love these sample platters. Half these characters aren't antiheroes they're just criminals people like.
Well Jamie Lannister is one cool anti hero from GoT .But in I would put Tony Sparano and Walter White as two cool anti heroes ,And Dexter Morgan is another cool one .It's just his methods taking the bad dude is the only never liked ,But a cool show overall .

Drug dealers are ALWAYS villains, even if they help old ladies cross the street. It's the drug dealing...
Maybe Saul is a better contender ?? But even he has the tendency to create destruction towards everyone around him
he was a hero who did nothing wrong
Lucifer Morningstar ❤ or Mazeikeen from Lucifer.
Tobias Beecher--Oz; Raymond Reddington--The Blacklist; J.R. Ewing--Dallas; Alice Morgan--Luther....so, so many that didn't even appear on you kids' computer screen....
While watchmojo was conducting the polls. Watler White a.k.a. Heisenberg was telling the voters "Say my name".😎😅😂😁
Bryan Cranston needed an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and whatever other award there is. He played THE hell out of that part.
Bryan Cranston won 4 Emmy and 1 golden globe
no vic mackey?? 😮
Walter Heartwell White kicks ass! 🙏✊
Jimmy McGill is number one for me, Better Call Saul is a masterpiece and better than Breaking Bad imo.
Dexter > Jimmy
What about Jack Bauer? How could you leave him out of the top 10??
You better have nucky Thompson and chalky white on this list. Boardwalk empire is underrated.
Tony Soprano >>>

I’d have to say the equalizer, hit girl and vegeta are up there.
❄️ Killer Frost - "The Flash" (2014-2023)

Tony Soprano should've been number one. #RIPJamesGandolfini
Ruth Langmore from Ozark belongs on here
08:13 not the gamers they know already
Franklin Saint from Snowfall.
Sorry it’s Tony Soprano. It just is.
Cant argue that but Walter White at #1 justifiable as well.

You're Goddamn right.
Walter White is The Ultimate Anti-Hero.
Agree.. but how is House even mentioned in an anti list He deserves his own list of bad asserdy
No surprise Walter White is #1, but I am more scared of Thomas Shelby and Tony Sopranos; imagine those 3 together in the same room? 😮😮😮😮😮
Four words will be uttered before the room is leveled and Walter White walks out of there - "This is NOT meth!"
