Love your channel. I just discovered it recently. Anyone can buy a bunch of new parts and throw them at a bike and keep doing it until they stumble across the problem. But you get in there and diagnose the actual problem and then repair the malfunctioning part. You often find some used parts in your stash and get the repair done for free. I do the same things. But I collect ATCs. I sell my duplicates on ebay and can wind up with the original for free.
Are you sure you mounted the two parts ring right, I did the same thing and had trouble too.I then mounted the exhaust pipe first in the cylinder and then the two parts ring on the side of the pipe in the cylinder then it was no trouble to screw on the exhaust system.
Nice job... where did or do you orde you parts? I have a 1977 z50a. I need a headlight and assembly and Taillight and mount. ...and pegs w/kickstand. Love your simple dyi instructions... I will I could send a picture of mine. Thanks!
I found everything I need for this build on ebay a subscriber donated engine and exhaust a muffler they where in his shead for years headlight assembly was ebay rear fender and peg assembly ebay
I’m working on an ATC70 right now and the exhaust connection is similar to your Z50. On the ATC the crush washer goes on first, then the exhaust flange goes up against the crush washer, then the two half circle joints push up against the flange on the exhaust, then the clamp on the exhaust is tightened up on the joints. Maybe this will help on your alignment problem.
thats how i have it my pipe is slightly bent this bike was in an accident bent the forks you will have to check out that vid lol it was bad someone 30+ years ago got launched lol
I have a 1988 cr125 with weak spark not enough to start the bike, I cleaned the magneto, got new plug, new coil that made no difference. Is there anything else I can do to get more spark?

You did the exhaust wrong but sure you figured that out when you started it up and had a exhaust leak where the 2 halves meet together.

Check your grounds. Look at videos and diagrams online. Good luck
