Mike, use a drill press vise. Slide in that pin in the shock, no pounding. Parts washer in Craig’s list, or Facebook marketplace . Always listed. Buddy got one for $20, with the fluid still in it. Only a little spoiled on the way home. Watched the whole vid. No fast forward. Great video, you did a really nice job. Thanks for the content. Happy New Year 🎉
For the rear foot brake the K2 uses a brake light switch basically just like a CT70 (same style switch with spring attached to pedal). This is separate from the switch in the rear brake cable. The front brake cable should have a brake light switch integrated into it as well.
You Made good progress Mike! Thank you for taking the time to explain how some of the components on these bikes work, it helps when troubleshooting our own builds. Just when you were about to give up on the brake switch I was going offer one, I have a brand new spare one to donate to you. Haha 😆 Looking forward to the top end rebuild video! 👍🏾
ive tapperd one end of the roll pins w/ a dremel and thats worked btw repaired is way better than restored..repaired original parts is the way to go jmo
Love the full in depth videos that show everything. Don’t apologize for the video being boring. I like seeing how everything is done. What brand of the ez wire connections do you use
There was never a Kill switch Also on the foot brake light switch. That cable should bolt somewhere to the engine and stay still with a little Spring on their going down with the brake pedal. So the cable might just have to be moved over to the right side but i have never ever seen a foot brake on any in mylife on those mini trail 50s I have a 1969 mini trail 50 I put a 90 moter in mine also the ones I have ever seen only have hand brakes only I do know the mini trail 70s also have a foot brake my new tires and tubs just got delivered yesterday 11- 10 -23
I picked up a 73 or 74 frame, swingarm, and ct70 engine. Is there a source of info that contains "parts interchange" info? Trying to source a complete front end...handle bars to the front wheel, and everything in between. Thanks
If I’m reading this correctly, the frame you got is a Z50? If so, all the Z50’s from the K3 thru 1978 are basically identical, just differences in color.
bonjour , here in france i have a friend specialized in all modele z 50, if you want i can explain your problémes with the light brake? my friend is the best specialiste in europe for monkeys ,z 50 ,honda cub and dax ,i can him in few hours cause of time difference with the united states
If you watch the video during the wiring harness fix, I explain how the harness works and how many switches should be on the bike. I do appreciate the offer of help, Thanks!
The brake switch was fun. Now I have to check some of my bikes. Thanks Mike. Texas on the Prairie
Mike, you’re killing me!!! Please wear your safety glasses!!!!!
I was squinting as tight as possible….that’s not good enough? 😂😂.
Sorry, I’ll do better in the future. 👍🏻

Can You provide information on Your engine and frame stand used. Thanks. Love watching Your videos.
They’re just homemade. I built them a couple years ago.
Also on mine I put a nineteen eighty yamaha five hundred Throttle on mine.
I typically use the $15 Amazon throttle, but this throttle and kill switch was on the bike, so I kept them.
