3 Best Animations in Camtasia

- My top three favourite animations in Camtasia. They are all pre-built and I demonstrate how to utilize these animations and what are the scenarios they are most suited for.
I share some tips on shortcuts you can use, including how to animate movement between screen states, restoring and scaling clips for optimal placement. These animations save you time when editing videos in Camtasia by automatically moving, scaling, restoring the videos to save you dragging them manually to resize perfectly.
This informal step-by-step guide is ideal for both beginner and advanced Camtasia users looking to create more dynamic and engaging videos.

I always wonder why this channel is so underrated. I have been working as a video editor for several years myself. Cristi's content is always the best. I have learned a lot of things from this channel. I'm thinking of marketing Cristi's channel to everyone.
Wow, thank you! That is amazing feedback.
Agreed! I try to tell anyone building content in Camtasia to sub to this channel. Camtasia has become a more complex product (powerful) over the years - so I actually have many bookmarks to this channel that I'll reference when editing content.
Ha! I'm glad I'm not the only one that didn't use the RESTORE animation :) I always forget about it - thank you for the reminder.
Yeah, I need reminding of things too. Muscle memory wins sometimes.
For the @Camtasia team:
1. I wish I could assign keyboard shortcuts to all animations
2. I wish I could create my own animation presets and save them to the Animation library
Thanks
Dear Cristi, that was an amazing video, thank you. Your work in your channel is great! Keep on! Great great job!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your feedback and I'm happy to hear you enjoy it. Plenty more videos coming!
Hi Cristi, I've been working with Shift+A and Restore quite often but you took it to the next level with cropping and zooming, and juggling with it, AND ....SCALING TO FIT. Awesome!!! Your tips and tricks are always practical, actionable and easy to understand. Thanks man. You're a timesaver and a true efficiency hunter
🎯🏆🎖️🏅. Cheers 😊
Wow, thank you! Happy I could make your day :D . Would love to hear more ideas or questions you have. Perhaps some cool video ideas in there.
I thought I knew most of the features in Camtasia but had never knew that the restore animation could be so useful. Thanks for all your effort in these videos.
You bet! Glad I could show you something new!
Thanks Cristi, I have been using the Custom animation forever but never saw the Restore animation. Soooo helpful. Huge thanks for pointing that out!
You're very welcome! Glad I could show you something useful today.
Cristi, thanks for the tutorial. I use Restore as well but I have never used it repeatedly like you show us.
Yeah, it is a nice use case if you need to repeatedly zoom in and out of a specific area.
I am not a professional editor, I am a mortgage lender that we sell videos for becoming a professional mortgage broker. I've been seen Cristi's videos forever like four years or more. He makes it very easy for non-professionals like myself to follow. Thanks Cristi
Thanks a lot, I appreciate this great feedback! Glad you find my videos helpful.
My vote goes for this tutorial being the best you have ever done. Terrific! More coming?
Really? That's kind, thank you.
I have seen many many videos on Camtasia. This is one of the most helpful ever. I love doing the zoom in but like you said it's so time consuming. Thank you for this.
Awesome, so pleased to hear it. I didn't think much of it when I made it :D Turns out I was wrong.
Really good Thank you@@Graphicious
Thank you Cristi 🤩 custom is definitely the animation super power in Camtasia and restore I use it a lot, great that you highlighted it.
You’re welcome 😊 Used to be the only animation I was using.
Another great video from Cristi. I've learned so much from you, thank you!!!
So glad to hear that, thank you!
Great information. I'm working on a software tutorial series right now. This is very helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Can't say enough. I think I have watched this before, but this time I GOT it. Thanks!
Thanks a lot, glad it helped in the end! Which one was your favorite?

Great video, really helpful + Subbed ✅
Awesome, thank you!
sir, I am also using restore animation. very powerful and time savings
It's great. I only started using it after a few years :D
Спасибо, Кристи!
My pleasure!
@Graphicious: Thank you for technically sound and knowledgeable videos. Can you please tell how you have created the 'Custom Animation' text animation coming at 0:23 seconds? It's very amazing.
Regards,
Anjali
That is a free asset from the Camtasia library. It comes installed with Camtasia.
@@Graphicious Thank you Cristi, I got that asset. I really enjoy watching your videos.
Hi Cristi
Thanks for posting. Nicely done.
Quick question. Is there a way to save a custom animation? Use case is jumping between a split screen and full screen. It would be nice to save the animation and be able to use it across multiple projects.
Thanks.
Jeff
Thank you. At the moment there's no way to save a custom animation. You can create the animation on a clip and then convert that clip to a placeholder, then re-apply that but it's too much pain for this. I would also love it if I could save custom animations and reuse them.
@@Graphicious Thanks for the info. I think I am just going to duplicate tracks with them configured as I want and then all I have to do is use the opacity animation to hide the top layer. So track 1 would be my head, track 2 my smaller greenscreen head, track 3 the full screen recording, track 4 the smaller version of the screen recording, and track 5 my split screen cropped head, with the bottom track my motion background. Then the cuts become just a drag of the opacity animations. Or is there a better way? Any downside to using the same media on different tracks other than visual clutter in the timeline?
Thk bro cool
Thanks! What is your favorite animation?

I’ve been using the program for how many years, but I didn’t know about the rest of those animations@@Graphicious
because of the drawing I have to use version 21 😮💨😥😥@@Graphicious
maybe you can tell me a cool, convenient screen drawing tool?@@Graphicious
Thanks so much for this, Christi! :)
I realize this question isn't related to your topic, but do you happen to have a video tutorial on how you draw the red boxes (outlines) around the parts of the interface you want to bring our attention to?
Am I making sense?
Some folks just have a red box/outline appear, but I like how your outlines seem to be "drawn" around the focal point.
Thanks for any help! :)
No need for a separate tutorial for that, really. That animated annotation is part of Camtasia. I use Camtasia to edit my videos and it includes a free animated annotations like that, where they draw themselves on screen and you can control the duration.
@@Graphicious Oh, that's great to know - thank you! :)
And a quick question - are you able to use Camtasia to record your screen USING Camtasia? Is that possible?
@TedMattos absolutely. I do that all the time.
@@Graphicious Great - thank you, Christi!
No worries. Stay tuned for next week when I walk through the new Camtasia 2024!
