Eels aren’t in position to offer him a new deal yet as they want to move him from fullback and, accordingly, want to wait to next year to see how he goes in new position before coming up with a dollar figure for contract renewal (which will be much less than his current 900-950k). Clearly, gutho and his manager have initiated the convo to go to market earlier cause they want to see what dragons will concretely offer and then put that to the eels and see if they can pressure eels into offering him a 2 year deal at a higher rate than they would currently be thinking. Eels have been helpful for gutho in agreeing to let him check the market early because it’s not in eels interest to get a contract done in the pre-season. They need to see how next year goes.

At the time, as a fan, it was gut wrenching, but they offerred him one more year, unlikely to play first grade - or look for somewhere else that may give you a better contract for another couple of years. Taumalolo played for the Kiwis first so that eliminates him from origin straight away. If you play for another tier 1 country like kiwis and England you can't play SOO. But you can play SOO and Samoa because Samoa is a tier 2 nation

Youngest is going through it now, kindy has just been smashed with Hand Foot and Mouth, hoping we dont get it. Toddlers and infants share germs like crazy. Dont be so hard on the other parents though, their kid may have a stronger immune system than your lad and they could carry and spread things without being very symptomatic at all. Totally normal for the young one to get these gnarly illnesses early on at a new daycare. Each centre is full of different illnesses and will just take some time for your boy to build up that immunity. Totally normal. But also where I work some parents will send their children fully aware that they are sick and it drives me insane. For parents like you it is totally unfair. We get that life is rough and sometimes you gotta get to work but the amount of times children have gotten sick or even myself for this reason is just unfair, it means I now can't work. But that's just daycare politics.
there is no way of kids avoiding viral infections as a child. it's a natural part of growing up and I would argue it is important for immunity later in life. I reckon I got every viral infection growing up and I never get viral infections these days
