- In this video I talk about the new Ventrac 45RC. There have been comments on why you would want a remote control mower. I would like to explain a few reasons on why this was a great idea. This takes the Ventrac another step forward on being a even safer mower. If you would like to learn more about the new 45RC tractor just click on the link below.

Great video.
Beautiful machine
Appreciate your review. As an owner of a 4520Z who has done a bunch of severe slope mowing I’ve got my own thoughts on this. First of all, Ventrac is free to develop whatever technology they want, and I assume they’ve done market research on this RC option. Personally it sounds like a solution looking for a problem. I find it hard to believe that there are just that many users out there willing to pay double for a RC machine. Another scenario could be that they intend to convert over to electro/hyd controls and this is a testbed. The joystick control versus standard Ventrac controls is appealing, although I’m not sure I want to give up the mechanical simplicity of the current setup. If I have a complaint with the Ventrac it probably would be the SDLA controls. I like the single hand control but the operating force is tiring after some time, and it get’s pretty complex with some attachments…for example the landscape rake with hydraulic tilt and angle. I don’t have the three point hitch on my machine but I can assume throwing that into the right hand mix could make things very interesting. I could see a multi-function joystick being much more user friendly.
I was trying to anticipate what the new product was going to be, and I was caught by surprise by the RC option. Actually, I was hoping for a more powerful engine option, perhaps a bigger diesel. My Kubota gas is for the most part pretty powerful, but it is a fuel hog. The most power hungry attachment that I have is the turbine blower. I have a pretty gentle slope on my driveway and my 4520Z struggles to stay anywhere near full RPM with the blower when going uphill.
@@OTGAuGres I agree the electricover hydraulic controls would be nice on a standard Ventrac, But it would depend on the cost added to the machine for a lot of people. I do realize people are shocked by the price, But a lot of money may be saved by insurance companys also by using a RC Ventrac. A lot if liability is being removed when operating with no person on the machine. As for higher HP engines I really dont see that could happen unless the size of the maching got larger. You have me curious on how much power tgat tubine blower uses. I may have to get one of them to try out on my diesel to do another power test. Maybe diesel vs 4520N. I am glad Ventrac is developing new ideas in there tractors tho. Maybe we will see a new SDLA lever option in the future.
Yeah, the turbine blower is a power hog, but this time of the year it’s my most used attachment. I’ve got several acres of lawn with lots of trees and surrounding woods. It’s saves me hours and hours of tedious labor with a backpack blower. I’d be curious how your Kubota diesel handles it versus my Kubota gas. On paper the gas should outperform, but numbers don’t always tell the whole story. Keep up the good content. It would be fun to share notes on favorite attachments sometime.
TORO calls the shots, they put up the money…I think they will sell a few, but the test is going to be electric over hydraulic and the joystick. Probably if it proves reliable, they are going to offer it without remote…question then the price. Look at the video in which they are comparing the Bobcat/Steiner clone. The Bobcat is cheaper and Ventrac is going after them so they don’t lose sales to Bobcat. You can say retain “Market Share”. Regards,
@tony8354586 I did see that video. Aaron made a lot of great points, Some of why I chose Ventrac over Steiner. I always thought of making a video showing why I chose Ventrac. If it warms up I may do a video on this topic aswell. You are correct tho. Options are nice like electric over hydroylic, But will people be willing to pay for it? That is the big question. People ask for a lot, But when it comes down paying for ot they will be the first ones complaning about the price of it.
Great video, thank you for posting 😃
Next time, maybe show the remote control and how it works.
Thanks
Bob
@@robertmcdonnold3038 I am going to try to get one in the spring when they are released to dealers. I will do a video on controls and the RCO box then.
I doubt this would happen, but I’d be curious if they’d finally introduce the D902k as an engine option, because of the ECM/ECU adding the additional capabilities, like what the 32 Hp kubota that’s currently powering the 45RC, does.
Probably isn’t any merit in having a lower HP version of the RC, or a need for alternative fuel.
the draw of it is that you have a fully capable venteac that you can also stick into bar places without risking your operator
