    ventrac posts their msrp on their website. According to my local dealer, they do not discount off the msrp and charge the 5% dealer fee from sheffield bank for the 0% financing. Some dealers give discounts but charge for freight and setup. I've watched the factory videos and I am surprised they aren't adding the three point lifts at the factory anymore. It's a dealer install now which takes a lot of labor. My quote for a 4520p with duals, threepoint, cooltop, tough cut, 72 in finish mower, and tiller was $53k. I also got a quote for the 37hp steiner with same options and attachments for $40k. Both quotes were within the last month. Hope that helps

    For the mower blade bolts.....I just take the wire wheel on the grinder and clean them up. Little dunk in the grease tub and tighten em back up. But I definitely don't use the impact for final torque. Just a nice tug with the 17MM wrench. Too many ugga duggas with the impact and you could wind up in trouble lol.

    Can't tell you how much I appreciate you doing this unsolicited video on the VENTRAC tractor !
    We have been a servicing dealer for the VENTRAC tractor up here in Northwest Ohio for over Eighteen years, and use an older 4200 31Hp. Turbo Diesel to maintain our property at home !
    These " little tractors " are beyond little powerhouses, and never cease to impress me, and
    WE SELL THEM !
    You would think by now I would come to expect the work performance out of these " little tractors " but they ALWAYS continue to impress me !
    Thank you again for your video !!!
    FYI, if you cut up those bent up and twisted blades, they make perfect HARDENED, skid shoes for any of your pieces of equipment that make any kind of ground contact, or driveway contact !
    Stopping almost all of the wear issues !

    We demo'd one for a day on our farm. It's a nice machine, but at their price point, if you are just mowing grass, a zero turn is much more practical. It really shines on a slope though as we put it on a 30 degree slope and it handled it fine.

    • @aron6998
      @aron6998 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d say a zero turn is better at just mowing as long as you don’t have slopes and or wet areas, my zero turn is trash on parts of my property due to low lying areas so after a rain I have to hope for a week of no rain in order to mow those areas, so I rented a Ventrac and it mowed those areas and didn’t leave not one rut

    I think I would stick with getting a Kubota BX tractor, little to no worry regarding belts, universal attachment options that Ventrac still has issues with in its proprietary belt-driven design and ultimately more affordable and, needless to say more stylish than the Ventrac. It also bothers me that Toro, a company that's overrated, now owns Ventrac. The ventrac is just a glorified lawn mower and that's about it. The Kubota (and other compact tractors) is/are a true jackknife while the Ventrac seems to be a jack of all trades, master of none (with the exception of the lawn mowing).

    • @StoneyRidgeFarmer
      @StoneyRidgeFarmer  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd take the Ventrac 1000 times over any kubota BX for mowing jobs and landscaping. The kubota and other tractors simply can't compare to the Ventrac....it's the Master of all trades, easy, reliable, simple to operate and the most versatile machine we have on the farm my brotha. I'd run literal circles around a BX kubota with 20 more hp that the ventrac. Just being totally honest...the BX has it's place but the Ventrac is a landscapers dream!

I remember as a kid doing a job a mile from home, but we lived on a hill with sticky clay soil and the job was in the valley "town" with sandy river dirt soil. Identical lawnmowers (snapper hi-vac with 4hp 2-stroke tecumseh engine), one always stuck way more grass to the deck. Of course it always changed with the season, too.

I just like playing in the dirt and my wife likes to mow. Can't do alot on 2 acres but garden, fix ditches, swales, and maybe help a neighbor out every once in awhile. We farmed and raised cattle up until 1976, 1200 acres, so I'm very familiar with everything you do, we irrigated all except 160 acre field, plus we raised alfalfa too. We were small farmers compared to most of our neighbors. We'd get 100 calves every year and run them on winter wheat pasture and sell them in the spring. What no air impact with 1200 ft lbs of torque, not a problem for me in my shop. Those electric impacts are ok for regular wheel nuts but on anything bigger I use my air impact. I like those ventrac s but they are really pricey. And the attachments are high too.

    I just wish they where a hyd machine. The belts are ok and you have to use there belts. Aftermarket belts don’t last. Good machine otherwise.

      Starting around are the key words there. One equipped with the additional hydraulics, 3 point, canopy, etc and you go up fast. I recently got a quote for the 4520p decked out with tough cut, finish mower, and tiller for 53k. I still think they are worth it if you can make money with it.

    I like the ventrac but to me its about like a farmall 140 it has to have specific attachments and those attachments can be hard to find and expensive so just not practical for us at all

    • @StoneyRidgeFarmer
      @StoneyRidgeFarmer  ปีที่แล้ว

      lol...well...it's no where near a farmall 140 my brotha....you can buy any attachment you want for this machine...I absolutely love it.....this is a fenceline mowing monster

    On the blade bolts, anti-seize just makes a mess and smears and spreads everywhere.
    You have copper/silver glittering everywhere you touch afterwards.
    I use that only around exhaust or Hot locations.
    Like I said in a earlier reply... I know it's Josh's 1st. day on the job and all.
    But again jesus could sprinkle dust and say a prayer over the bolts,. and it's still going to sometimes require a cheater bar and pull handle,
    NO BRAND of battery impact will equal 24 hp of spinning blade coming to an abrupt Stop. NONE!
    Time for 3/4" impact or that guy with the "Dust"
    That's 40 years of wrenching knowledge.
    Great job Josh,
    In the future have your problems already loosened so all the keyboard experts don't flood you with miracle fixing fore-sight solutions.

    Where are your grazers? Seems such a waste to have to mow all that beautiful pasture when you could have it done and fertilized naturally! Where are your cows?

      you do understand the cows are in the pasture and this is my lawn right? The entire 150 acres isn't fenced my friend

    I remember when you first got that unit, glad it has done well for you.
    Can't understand why you wave their flag so much when they no longer support you.
    For that kind of money NO QUESTION It better #$&@ing be good and take the place of a wife too, I know... (mine found a better deal too)
    I have a 3-1/2 ton excavator and a 3' flail and it does well along ponds and dams, I can even reach over fences and across rip rap that any other uint can't do.
    I understand it's not a box store throw away and I get that... and it shouldn't be for the kind of money they get for these things.
    They have them priced where only tax funded, big money makers or the Elite Rich can afford them.
    Seriously you could spend over $100,000 with attachments on a 24/25 Hp Specialty diesel
    And I like it and would enjoy having it but I just can't justify it with all the other equipment that I already have, and no I'm not selling off my stuff that has served me well to send a suitcase of money to Ohio.
    Again it's a nice machine that has a special nitche or place, at a "Triple" fair market price. and to add to that everything is specialty where you have to buy directly from them or their dealer, and my argument on that is on the weekend when I'm elbow deep in stuff I like to be able to find something at a local parts store. And not have to wait a week or 2,3 for something like a Belt or anything else that's out of stock or discontinued. or backordered.
    What I mean is when I have something on that scale(that I rely on) I don't like having to rely on "1 Exclusive Source" for parts, and pay 3-4 prices to boot for something like a "Bastard length Belt"
    I hope it continues to do well for you, As It Should, for what it cost.
    Sorry they turned me off early on.
    By the way I'm just down from you on the other far side of Charlotte.

    • @StoneyRidgeFarmer
      @StoneyRidgeFarmer  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not waving anyone's flag buddy....I'm telling you what a great machine this is....when you buy quality it lasts...make no mistake I bought this machine to keep on the farm from now on.....taking a 10,000 lb machine down a pond bank destroys the soil habitat my brotha...this think treads very lightly...saves me tons of time and is simply instrumental in the farm operation. It's expensive....because it's worth it my friend!

    • @lectro88
      @lectro88 ปีที่แล้ว

      Being on 150 acres I guess you could justify it...
      I on the other hand could not, or would not.
      And I have seen Maybe 3, around Charlotte traveling the roads almost daily,. so there's that too.
      I'm over 50 now and don't see this on my horizon.
      Beautiful place you have by the way.

    Do you know why the rad is in the back?
    So if you punch a branch or a steel fencepost thru the grille it saves the rad.
    Pretty smart huh?
    !

    • @StoneyRidgeFarmer
      @StoneyRidgeFarmer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      nope...it's in the back because the engine needs to pull air from the back...the radiator has to be huge in this thing...it will pick up and pull in debris...it's not to keep branches or posts out....it's also because the engine is backwards in this machine compared to most tractors my brother

    This channel seems to have a lot of negative Nancys’, is it an expensive machine with expensive attachments yes but are they high quality built in America and have a proven track record YES! The same folks bickering over costs are the same people that will complain about cheaply made overseas items but will keep buying them bc well they are cheap, buy once cry once!!

    • @StoneyRidgeFarmer
      @StoneyRidgeFarmer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      this video has a lot of negative sentiment from folks that see a quality machine made in the USA that can earn enough in 2 months to pay for itself...some folks would rather complain than work hard and produce something my brotha...you got that right..others "get it" and understand the value
