I prefer the duals and the reasons are they simply grab and push better, and I have an enclosed cab, the stability of the duals with the cab, is so much more confidence inspiring, if I slide off mt driveway w singles it’s possible for me to go over, with duals it will never happen. Great video thank you for doing it.
Great comparison on the duals vs single for plowing snow! I was surprised the duals did so well. I prefer running singles myself as the machine feels much more nimble and it is easier to maneuver the blade tight around obstacles etc.
@carlinatkinson5288 I agree with that. I have found while pushing snow a lot of times back drawing with the blade around garage and mailbox. The singles do make the machine more nimble for sure. I do want to say that duel wheel tool works great.
@@steiger256 I do want to do some more experimenting on duals in snow since your video though 😅Seems like there would be a place for both. Grateful to hear that the dual wheel tool works great! Looking forward to future videos!
Great video! I always enjoy your videos. I agree with your assessment. You could see the tractor would dart around a little more on singles. But I prefer the singles for plowing. The mid mount weight kit is worth every penny. It’s a game changer! The sloped areas I mow I feel more planted with it vs without. How about the 4500y vs Utilimax plowing snow
@DaBomb6988 I may have to get that mid weight bar. I have been wanting one. I will have a video of the Utilimax pushing the same snow here soon. I would say the Utilimax may push a little more, But pretty comparable. The Utilimax will not spin out. It has a big weight advantage. I did notvreally push the limits of the Utilimax tho. I did not want to stress the old girl and break something.
I am not sure you did this but if not try it: push first with singles - build the snow up into several piles stopping when the wheels start spinning. Then with duels on try to push those piles in the same tracks and the same way. If the piles are moved, then you see some increased push power. Using 8 vs 4 is not going to double the push power, because it does not add much weight, but I would still prefer using duels. Thanks
We don't get that much snow here in South Central N. C., however, what else is the plow good for? Dirt? Rocks? Grading? Or should it just be used for soft material only?
@medlinlandmaintenancellc It works great for pushing anything. I use mine year around. I have other videos showing the blade. I use it to push snow, dirt, grass and leaf piles, rocks, and even spread gravel on the driveway.
@mobyhunr I am not a huge chain fan. They are pretty rough on concrete and blacktop. They may be okay with a snowblower, But pushing with a blade if they spin out they can eat up concrete.
Steiner 430 here. Thank you for this vidro.
@noway180 Your welcome. I'm glad you liked it.

@JohnDiMartino I can definitely see where the duels would help on the sideways slide. I was not expecting the duels to get the Traction that they did.
I have a Steiner and have always wondered this

@@steiger256 the Utilimax is sweet! I hope you can post a couple videos of her working. Not to many videos of them
@DaBomb6988 There will be 2 snow plow videos on tge Utilimax here in the next week.

@donswaringen3590 That may have been a better test. If I get some time and more snow I may try that also. Thanks.
Curious about mowing with the 72in deck and duals. Do you find the decreased turning radius to be a big issue?
@fourbybud Not at all. It does decrease the turning radius a bit, But not really enough to be a huge difference.
Thank you

@@steiger256 good deal thanks for your response!
That's not snowplowing, that's snowballing, very little side run off. Tough little tractor
@tcmits3699 It was pretty wet for sure. If I had the loader I could stack piles and build snowmen.
what about chains?
Well, if you get out of line, of course!
@mobyhunr I am not a huge chain fan. They are pretty rough on concrete and blacktop. They may be okay with a snowblower, But pushing with a blade if they spin out they can eat up concrete.
