    As an inhabitant of the South of France, here are some precisions and ideas :
    -Arles and Perpignan have a pretty bad reputation in terms of safety. Be careful if you go there.
    -Aix-en-Provence is not that zen. Most people have a kind of Parisian's mind, especially the younger ones.
    -Avignon has the beautiful Palais des Papes, its gardens and a festival.
    -Roussillon is totally missing here. It's a beautiful village near Gordes with incredible orange cliffs all around!
    -Les Baux de Provence is also a beautiful village in the heart of the Alpilles, one of the most beautiful landscape of Provence. Even Johnny Depp lives here.
    -Saint Remy de Provence is also located in the Alpilles. It's pretty much like Aix-en-Provence, but with a real Provençal state of mind ;)
    -Sanary-sur-Mer is one of the most beautiful harbor, especially around Christmas when every boat is decorated.
    -L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgues is a beautiful town built with many rivers going by. It kinda reminds me of Memphis in ancient Egypt. This French town is also known for its old water mills.
    -Fontaine de Vaucluse is a small village also known for its river. It also has a very strange natural well that is sometimes empty and sometimes totally full.
    -I personally love Miramas Le Vieux, a small village over a hill with one of the best ice-cream maker of Provence and a stunning view.
    -Toulouse is also a place to visit if you like authentic Occitanie and Cassoulets.
    -Cassis is one of the most beautiful bay in the world. It's that simple.
    -I heard a lot of nice things about Bayonne compared to Perpignan.
    -St Guilhem le Désert, which is a medieval kind of village with a large waterfall in its center (when it's not dry).
    -And finally I would like to add Saint Maurice de Navacelles, a very small village located in the center of the Cirque de Navacelles. It's like a reverse Eze or Peillon. I mean that you arrive by the top of the mountains around and you have to go down to discover this small village with a huge waterfall, all that surrounded by the amazing Cirque de Navacelles!
    I hope you found it useful 👍

      Bonjour Monsieur. Non à Aix ils ont des esprits démoniaques sur eux. Depuis que j'y suis, je ne vois que des gens atteints psychologiquement. Ils sont menteurs fourbes, vantards, hypocrites, profiteurs. Dans le Sud les gens ne sont pas accueillant. Désolée pour le message. ✌🏽😇🙏🏽

      Je vis a Perpignan, il y a beaucoup moins a craindre que sur la côte d'azur ou je fais mes saisons depuis des années et j'entends constamment des histoires de racket et de vol. Y êtes vous déjà aller où est ce juste une réputation que continuer à distiller sans savoir??

    • @kellybeeggin283
      @kellybeeggin283 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Et sans parler des viols, attouchements et harcèlement de rue... Sur toute la côte d'azur, de Cannes a Menton. Et dans le métro les pickpocket, ainsi que le car Jacking sur la promenade des anglais. Mais bien-sûr Perpignan c'est pas sur. C'est d'une tristesse entendre les gens plomber la réputation de notre ville sans vraiment de raisons, sans connaître. Pour un touriste il y a vraiment peu de risque, a moins d'aller se balader au champs de Mars ou a saint jacques et encore. Mais bien sûr a Paris les touristes ne vont pas dans les quartiers craignos. Franchement ça me tue de lire votre commentaire

    You talked of a town where I live in the South East, near the Spanish border. You could have given a shout out to the picturesque little village of Eus which is also up high and voted one of the third most beautiful villages in France and receives the most sunshine.Then there's Castelnou, pearl of Catalonia, a vicomtal 12th century castle dominates the cobbled, narrow streets of the village with the Canigou mountains providing a beautiful background. And the amazing Fort Liberia, a 3-tiered fort designed by Sébastien Vauban, military architect under Louis IV to ward off the Spanish; I've often visited there and never tire of the beauty of the breathtaking scenery. A must to see for those who'd like to visit the Eastern Pyrenees.

    • @EVALLOYD
      @EVALLOYD 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@annemariestein7491 Yes, definitely. The beaches aren't much to write home about, but the little town in itself, is a beauty. A walk up to the fort which is now open to the public and a stop-off at the restored windmill for crushing the olives. And from this lofty station you have an amazing view of Collioure and the sea.

    I've been to a few of these places. Arles - cute city. St Paul de Vence was absolutely picturesque, loved Eze but there were so many tourists there when I happened upon the city. Carcassonne was super quaint but my favorite of all these had to have been Gordes. That region is pretty, save Cannes, which I didn't really like.

As a French born US resident who’s planning to retire back to my birthplace, I appreciate being reminded just how many beautiful and precious places still exist in France.. But please consider a little extra effort and insert a quick map view in your editing just before each segment to give your viewers a instant feel as to the “where” in France are all these special locations! It is the biggest failing of nearly 90% of all the travel videos I see on TH-cam!

      @@Snowshowslow go to the old mine at Les Baux. They do amazing sound and light shows there.
      If you’re in Vaucluse, you must visit the Luberon. The valley containing the town of Apt. All the villages lining that valley are STUNNING. Gordes, Menerbes, Bonnieux, Roussillon.
      Then drive over the Col de Murs and visit Ventoux.
      I’m going to be there soon! Riding my bike in those beautiful hills every day!
