The end of their servitude to MS, and the start of being able to control their own future. This sadly just turned to another company getting them, which thankfully is over now. As for Halo, it was meant to have died in 2010. Am I thankful Halo continued? Yes. Am I happy where it went, yes and no. Shrug, MS will keep it going as long as they can, so 'closure' is overrated.

Halo 5, while remarkably bad, given the lore, the buildup and then the sweeping aside of the natural progression of the stories and characters, was still made with care and some attention in other areas of the game. Amplified with this that because of Halo 5s success, a newer Halo is coming out, marketing and reveals have so far been promising. It is a story that is being flushed out. NeoLiberal Capitalism was never part of it so much as every Halo title released has continued with the narrative progression. That said, I look forward to seeing what the new team of developers at 343i do with Infinite with the Gen 9 consoles and pc. If it is good, it will sell. Profit is a part of it, mainly because I do want them to succeed.
B Train it’s crazy to remember playing CE back then. I was 4 when it came out so I played it at my older cousins house. We played split screen co-op and I was hooked. The first game I ever looked up trailers for online was Halo 2. I saw the E3 demo, and while I was disappointed that it wasn’t a part of the game I was highly satisfied with what we got.

They even turned against John once to try and cover up a big alliance meeting that was attacked. He saved the ambassadors and one was a brute clan leader that is really smart and was trying to gain an alliance with humans
Gonna be honest, having read this story a few years back... this really does the story justice! The art style adds so much detail that books could only do so much to portray.

Now they're all chanting for Halo Wars 2 cutscenes but there's been a decent amount of people bringing up how it should be viewed after halo 5 to not spoil other games. So I'm actually kinda salty that you got spoiled on the Flood XD I realize it's probably pretty tricky not to get spoiled on something as big as the Flood. But imagine the absolute mind-blasting that would have taken place if you had absolutely no idea that the Flood existed going into Halo for the first time? Especially after playing Reach.

I'm saying I think that including that trailer and other media including the Flood was a mistake. Watching this journey has been so fun. Seeing a person fall in love with a franchise I’ve been in love with for years is so fascinating. Even though it messes with my perfectionist mind that Dee is experiencing these things out of canonical order and some of it spoils stuff in the games, it’s still such a blast. Can’t wait to see this journey continue through all the games and extra outside material. The way I personally got into Halos lore was by binge watching HiddenXperias entire channel basically, and Dees enthusiasm reminds me of me when I got into Halo through Xperia.
I am enjoying watching this guy see halo through fresh eyes it reminds me of me before I dug for every bit of lore I could get my hands on before I knew every thing about this wonderful universe and just spent untold hours looking at the levels mystified at what once was

For those who don’t know much about the flood, the reason why burgundy wasn’t killed immediately by cranker was because she had extensive knowledge of how to pilot space craft. Instead of her being turned into a combat form, they did what happened to certian captain in halo ce...
Jaime Lupo I think it was mostly due to the pilot possibility remembering the UNSC’s coordinates. If the Gravemind gets that type of info, they’ll immediately send flood to places that have a highly populated food source.
They pick their names, but either their designation (eg CTN 0452-9) is chosen for them based on the name or the designation comes first and the AI picks a name to fit the designation, we still don’t know. But AIs like Cortana, Black Box, Deep Winter, etc all chose those names for themselves.
They are able to choose their names. One example is Wellsley from the book "Halo: the flood", who took up the name after taking the appearance of the Duke of Wellington.
343i needs to confirm the status of the UNSC Red Horse, and the events that happened moments after The Mona Lisa. If I was Lopez, I would totally see if Henry and I could fit in one pod. It would most definitely be a tight fit, but still. And you know, I've watched this short story multiple times, but I noticed that when Benti was stabbed by a Flood combat form, Henry immediately picked her up and ran. Now, I'm thinking. Why did he do that in the first place? He should've known that she was infected, Clarence knew, but still. After all these years, the aftermath of The Mona Lisa is still unknown to the community. I really hope 343i will one day come back to it.
They didn't really go into it much in the animation, but in the short story this was based off of, when MacCraw and Lopez got to the pods they did realize that the pods could fit 2 people, but it would be a tight fit. So she knew immediately that there wasn't enough room for Henry and her to fit in a single pod. Had MacCraw not panicked and launched himself alone (which i can't really blame him for) then he and Lopez could get in one pod, Henry in the other. Sadly though, if that had happened, Henry would have spent the rest of his life in an ONI blacksite, the captain would have had him executed, or the covenant would have killed him for being taken prisoner and for being in close proximity to the flood without any protection.
When you play H1-3, you'll notice that when the flood show up. The Covenant will turn their focus from you to the flood. That happens with me at least, I do the same thing when I see flood and covies. I'll help the covies then i dip out before they turn their focus back to me.
Likewise, I always aided the Covenant in their fight against the Flood and even when they would shoot me afterwards, I’d run past them with the hopes of them “living”
One time me and a blue elite actually teamed up for like, 5 minutes fighting the flood. I had my own Henry, and it felt so bad when I had to put him down...
I really want to see a flood outbreak so bad that it's a 60-90 minute level with the UNSC and Banished having to join together. I'm really hoping the ending of the new game has this ending and it goes on for a while with humans and "covenant" being teammates for several DLCs.

My entire family loves Halo. Even my mom and dad, it's one of our favorite sci-fi universes. Growing up it was Star Trek, Star Gate SG1 and Atlantis, and Halo.
I can’t wait for you to play the trilogy. It is one of the most satisfying stories told. Most trilogies have that one part that doesn’t hold up as well as the other 2, but Halo maintains and surpasses its own quality with each new game. Halo CE is about the mystery and discovery, Halo 2 is about asking the bigger questions, and Halo 3 takes it all and makes it all worthwhile. You’re in for a ride.

A post apocalyptic situation survival style horror game with puzzles every so often that block progression. 3rd person shooter (from 4 on with resident evil) with a small variety of enemy types and weapons plus periodic boss fights. Even later additions of both franchises shifted to be more action based (save resident evil 7 and some spin offs).

The Flood, yes. The whole point of the game really, seeing that rings capable of wiping out all life had to be created to even slow it down. Even that didn’t eradicate it, but I can’t wait to see him click knowing they are the true antagonist of the Halo universe.

We follow a mission of 2 spartans III towards the end of reach (i think) and they basically have to do suicide missions to try to keep humanity ahead of the covenants There's also "Halo Legends" which is 8 short animations REALLY well made There's also "The heart of Midlotian" which is nice, we see an injured soldier vs some convenants and he needs to destroy the ship he's currently at because they'll learn the location of earth It kinda suck that you didn't played Halo CE, 2 and 3 before watching all that because it has a better impact after playing all these for example the flood, which you see for the first time in Halo CE, is terrifying. (But i understand that you don't have an Xbox to play all these) Hey also, (last thing i promise ^^), when are you gonna upload the rest of Halo Reach? (I've seen that you broadcasted live with it) The most interesting reactions are in the last few missions :)
Well this was amazing and I'm sure you're going to be waiting for the MCC port of halo one to make it to the PC I do kind of wish that you were left just a little bit more in the dark about the flood for just a bit longer. Because that first time you meet the flood. That should be in the hall of fame for just how much of a tone shift it is.

hey Dee, if you want to dive into Halo lore you need to start with the Novel "The Fall of Reach", it was released in 2001 and re-released in 2010. its important as it goes through the Spartan-2 training and combats. but until you go through Halo CE most of the other novels are gonna be full of spoiler, especially "The Flood" as that is the novelization of Halo CE. another problem is that most if not all of the novel are connect in some way by an event, person etc. of another novel and requires alot of prior knowledge with the exception be "The Fall of Reach". this is a flaw that the novels have.
I couldn't be happier that you're now covering the wide array of Halo content. Halo is easily my favorite game/book/etc. series of all time so watching you experience it for the first time is awesome.

I don't think he'll necessarily understand the shorts and EU content more, but it'll spoil him some of the big plot points of the games, unfortunately. In the end, I believe his love for Halo is authentic, but he seems to be a bit peer pressured into the Halo entertainment he's consuming. I'm sure we have all spoiled ourselves sometimes when going in a new franchise though, and what Dee Bee is doing is not catastrophic. I realize it's probably pretty tricky not to get spoiled on something as big as the Flood. But imagine the absolute mind-blasting that would have taken place if you had absolutely no idea that the Flood existed going into Halo for the first time? Especially after playing Reach.

I'm saying I think that including that trailer and other media including the Flood was a mistake. Could have just told him "these are great too but they contain massive spoilers so wait until you finish x,y,z before watching them".

Watching this journey has been so fun. Seeing a person fall in love with a franchise I’ve been in love with for years is so fascinating. Even though it messes with my perfectionist mind that Dee is experiencing these things out of canonical order and some of it spoils stuff in the games, it’s still such a blast. Can’t wait to see this journey continue through all the games and extra outside material. The way I personally got into Halos lore was by binge watching HiddenXperias entire channel basically, and Dees enthusiasm reminds me of me when I got into Halo through Xperia.

For those who don’t know much about the flood, the reason why burgundy wasn’t killed immediately by cranker was because she had extensive knowledge of how to pilot space craft. Instead of her being turned into a combat form, they did what happened to certian captain in halo ce...
Tbh i would assume any marine at least has basic training in piloting a pelican. Otherwise if the pilot dies then they are screwed.
Jaime Lupo I think it was mostly due to the pilot possibility remembering the UNSC’s coordinates. If the Gravemind gets that type of info, they’ll immediately send flood to places that have a highly populated food source.

They pick their names, but either their designation (eg CTN 0452-9) is chosen for them based on the name or the designation comes first and the AI picks a name to fit the designation, we still don’t know.
But AIs like Cortana, Black Box, Deep Winter, etc all chose those names for themselves.
They are able to choose their names. One example is Wellsley from the book "Halo: the flood", who took up the name after taking the appearance of the Duke of Wellington.
In that case if I was an AI I would have a hard time picking between a huge pen*s and a giant middle finger

343i needs to confirm the status of the UNSC Red Horse, and the events that happened moments after The Mona Lisa. If I was Lopez, I would totally see if Henry and I could fit in one pod. It would most definitely be a tight fit, but still. And you know, I've watched this short story multiple times, but I noticed that when Benti was stabbed by a Flood combat form, Henry immediately picked her up and ran. Now, I'm thinking. Why did he do that in the first place? He should've known that she was infected, Clarence knew, but still. After all these years, the aftermath of The Mona Lisa is still unknown to the community. I really hope 343i will one day come back to it.
They didn't really go into it much in the animation, but in the short story this was based off of, when MacCraw and Lopez got to the pods they did realize that the pods could fit 2 people, but it would be a tight fit. So she knew immediately that there wasn't enough room for Henry and her to fit in a single pod. Had MacCraw not panicked and launched himself alone (which i can't really blame him for) then he and Lopez could get in one pod, Henry in the other.
Sadly though, if that had happened, Henry would have spent the rest of his life in an ONI blacksite, the captain would have had him executed, or the covenant would have killed him for being taken prisoner and for being in close proximity to the flood without any protection.
When you play H1-3, you'll notice that when the flood show up. The Covenant will turn their focus from you to the flood. That happens with me at least, I do the same thing when I see flood and covies. I'll help the covies then i dip out before they turn their focus back to me.
Likewise, I always aided the Covenant in their fight against the Flood and even when they would shoot me afterwards, I’d run past them with the hopes of them “living”
One time me and a blue elite actually teamed up for like, 5 minutes fighting the flood. I had my own Henry, and it felt so bad when I had to put him down...
I feel like the Mona lisa flood are more scary than halo ce and halo 2 and halo 3
I really want to see a flood outbreak so bad that it's a 60-90 minute level with the UNSC and Banished having to join together. I'm really hoping the ending of the new game has this ending and it goes on for a while with humans and "covenant" being teammates for several DLCs.

My entire family loves Halo. Even my mom and dad, it's one of our favorite sci-fi universes. Growing up it was Star Trek, Star Gate SG1 and Atlantis, and Halo.

Most trilogies have that one part that doesn’t hold up as well as the other 2, but Halo maintains and surpasses its own quality with each new game. Halo CE is about the mystery and discovery, Halo 2 is about asking the bigger questions, and Halo 3 takes it all and makes it all worthwhile. You’re in for a ride.

A post apocalyptic situation survival style horror game with puzzles every so often that block progression. 3rd person shooter (from 4 on with resident evil) with a small variety of enemy types and weapons plus periodic boss fights. The Flood, yes. The whole point of the game really, seeing that rings capable of wiping out all life had to be created to even slow it down. Even that didn’t eradicate it, but I can’t wait to see him click knowing they are the true antagonist of the Halo universe.

I've seen this in another comment, but the shortfilm "Headhunters" is really well made too. We follow a mission of 2 spartans III towards the end of reach (i think) and they basically have to do suicide missions to try to keep humanity ahead of the covenants
There's also "Halo Legends" which is 8 short animations REALLY well made
There's also "The heart of Midlotian" which is nice, we see an injured soldier vs some convenants and he needs to destroy the ship he's currently at because they'll learn the location of earth
It kinda suck that you didn't played Halo CE, 2 and 3 before watching all that because it has a better impact after playing all these for example the flood, which you see for the first time in Halo CE, is terrifying. (But i understand that you don't have an Xbox to play all these)

Well this was amazing and I'm sure you're going to be waiting for the MCC port of halo one to make it to the PC I do kind of wish that you were left just a little bit more in the dark about the flood for just a bit longer. Because that first time you meet the flood. That should be in the hall of fame for just how much of a tone shift it is.

hey Dee, if you want to dive into Halo lore you need to start with the Novel "The Fall of Reach", it was released in 2001 and re-released in 2010. its important as it goes through the Spartan-2 training and combats. but until you go through Halo CE most of the other novels are gonna be full of spoiler, especially "The Flood" as that is the novelization of Halo CE. another problem is that most if not all of the novel are connect in some way by an event, person etc. of another novel and requires alot of prior knowledge with the exception be "The Fall of Reach". this is a flaw that the novels have.

Just wait until you read the books man. The Halo Universe has so many different stories to it, from the games to the movies and books too. It’s such an amazing universe to explore with all of it’s lore, which is only rivaled by Star Wars, and the DC/Marvel Universes.

I don't think he'll necessarily understand the shorts and EU content more, but it'll spoil him some of the big plot points of the games, unfortunately. In the end, I believe his love for Halo is authentic, but he seems to be a bit peer pressured into the Halo entertainment he's consuming. I'm sure we have all spoiled ourselves sometimes when going in a new franchise though, and what Dee Bee is doing is not catastrophic. The order he watches these things in is only really but not significantly less interesting as if he watched them in the vanilla order.
I can't wait for you to get neck deep into the Flood, Forerunner, and Ancient Human lore. The Flood is THE threat of the series.
