I really wish we had a Halo Horror game. Often, the Flood just isn't as scary as they could be when we play as a Spartan or an entire army in Halo Wars. Now this kind of Dead Space style survival scenario with only Marines or ODSTs? It would be a banger and help show off how terrifying the Flood can be to the average human.
The progression could be awesome too - starting off as a typical zombie game but the flood get smarter as they infect others. Some parts of the game could be more like Alien Isolation rather than just World War Z hordes
This would be really neat for sure! They could even add some other horror game elements like being able to hide to avoid conflicts where there are just too many flood in one area. Honestly surprised that hasn't been done already - being in a dark corridor with only the flashlight on your weapon as a light source fighting your way through would be super neat. This really does remind me of dead space, even the design of the Mona Lisa ship looks like the USG Ishimura!
Yo just for some context, the book version of this had very similar events, its just that there were actually more marines around at the time and people dropped much faster. As an example, when cranker got offed in the book, he wasn't actually alone. He actually had 4-5 other mrines around as backup not including Burgundy at the time. Speaking of her, she actually saw him and the other 4-5 get jumped by the infection forms through the pelican's cameras, the only problem is that she didn't know what they were and it was too dark to accurately see the flood then. Not to mention that the pelican's "black box" effectively locked up the footage and made it impossible for Burgundy to replay that. If i had to put money on it, I'd think Rebecca had a hand in that. Another difference is that after Lopez and her team took off from the bridge, the elite that killed singh also had a small difference too. That one actually killed 2 marines, the other being a relative fodder character named percy. Pretty sure I'd have to reread that story to spot them all as it's been several years. But yeah, therewas actually a larger concentration of Marines in the book, and the flood in it were spongier then when you try to take a sniper rifle to them.

I forgot that this was in Evolutions but this is probably one of my favorite stories because of how different is and also Dead Space but halo
