I don't think you noticed but the song that is played in the intro during Madeleine and James's car ride is the love song of OHMSS... where Bond's wife Tracy, dies...
Suffice to say, the fans noticed in the theatre and we all got bad vibe chills...
Americans :
Craig does NOT rhyme with _egg_ or _beg_ .
Craig rhymes with _vague_ or the International Criminal Court in _The Hague_ .
Time to watch Snatch
this video feels like a flash forward into the future when you are both 90-100 years old sitting in bed still reacting to movies and series.
Metal Gear Solid for Playstation 1 and the entire rest of the series has a virus called FoxDie that DNA specific.
This film had so many call backs and references to the older Bond films with my favourites being songs from On Her Majesty's Secret Service my personal favourite Bond film. Not 100% sure but I feel like this film has the most classic Bond call backs to any of the other Craig Bond films. Felt like a fun little love letter to Bond as a whole not just Daniel Craig.
It´s a very different movie from all those by Daniel Craig like 007, it breathes a retro air and pays homage to the old 007 movies from the Sean Connery and George Lazenby era, especially: On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which pays homage to it with lines like : "We have all the time in the world" and in the music too, there are 2 songs from that movie and Louis Armstrong's song "We Have All The Time in The World" at the end, which was the love theme of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", a film that was also somewhat different from Connery's, because it was a more human Bond, he also fell in love and got married.
Perhaps it would have been good if they had seen the movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" before seeing: "No Time To Die" to understand all the references and tributes to that movie, it would have been an extra plus if they had They would have liked it and they would have understood No Time To Die better, when Bond says some lines from that movie or when the iconic themes of that movie sound, I was moved when all those references to that classic movie appeared.
The bond car at the end was Timothy Doltons bond car.....
Not to be rude but how on earth is on her majesty's secret service your favourite bond? 😂
Finally we have again the sociopathic villain who wants to annihilate humanity, we have the island where the villain lives and where he carries out his plan, we also have the classic Aston Martin full of gadgets, everything like in the old movies of the saga, really a It was a pleasure to see all that again in a Bond film, that classic style was missed, because in Craig's previous films we haven't had as much of that, they were more modern stories, more of these times.
36:16 Bond's smile when picking up the stuffed animal is heartbreaking when you know how it ends.
Ana de Armas had only like 15 minutes in this movie but her performance was so incredible.
Was my highlight in an already great movie
same, ana is just so fine
She jumped around like she was in a Marvel movie. It was ridiculous
No Time To Die very much reminded me of my reaction to "Logan". It was an action film, but one with heart & emotion. The ending was very bittersweet, yet beautiful. I wish more stories had the balls to do what these films did.
9:14 you guys need to watch the older Bond movies, especially 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service, to know the magnitude of We Have All The Time In the World line.
Although not frequently seen, other 00s are seen or referenced in other Bond films, including Thunderball, The Man with the Golden Gun, Octopussy, A View to a Kill, The Living Daylights, and The World is Not Enough
Don't forget GoldenEye with 006
Spectre (009)
There is a movie called octopussy?!
@@robertosobreiro6212 YES Iol. It's kind of a giant meme at this point. XD but yes. It was a Rodger Moore one. Not half bad. Like not the best Bond film but far from the worst
@@robertosobreiro6212 I remember watching that as a kid and thinking "why is Bond 70 years old?"
I think my favorite of the Daniel Craig era will always be Casino Royale. It was just such a massive tonal shift in every possible right way for the entire franchise. I will forever remember being so incredulous about his casting and being completely converted in the first 10 minutes of the movie. But No Time to Die is nearly a tie for favorite. It is such a beautiful and fitting way to wrap up his time as Bond. And Rami Malick is just so freaking terrifying.
Agreed... Casino Royal night be my favourite film ever from an entertainment point of view... Its brilliant.... I remember thinking Craig would do a good job when he was announced but damn he killed it... I'd say this is my second favourite of the Craig era... Saw this in cinema and the sound died the moment safin shoots him... Didn't come back on... I was fuming 😂
It's literally the only good one he's done.
I heard a big part of the tone shift was that Daniel Craig was the first "Post 9/11" James Bond.
Rami Malek IS a phenomenal actor. You guys should definitely check out Mr. Robot, either for content or on your own.
That show is insanely rewatchable aswell.
He was great in Amsterdam
I loved Mr Robot and Rami in it but I thought he was kind of a weak villain in this one. More the writing and story than his performance though.
@@jb55364 Silva is the best Craig villain
Wasn't he who played Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody?
The end of this film had jaw on the floor. Couldn't believe that it ended the way it did. Great film.
I'm so grateful I've managed to escape spoilers before going to the cinema. Indeed it's great
What? The ending is kinda dumb
I like they had the balls to do it.
@@CYB3R2K I mean, I hated it at first and thought just like you did but rewatching it several times, I'm kinda glad they did it for Craig's bond. I'm actually more surprised the had the balls to do it in the first place. Killing him off this way was the perfect way to end his era and his arc. He moved on from his past and he is now gonna be with someone who he first fell in love with in the first place, Vesper. A fitting end.
@@jasonnewman1118
There Are Only 2 Genders And Men ♂️ Cant Get Pregnant 🤰 LOL 😂🤣
My main takeaway watching this film was they did right by Daniel Craig. I’m sad they killed him off but it was the most perfect ending, most perfect send off they could have given him in his final turn in the role, and the cinematography of his end (just the perfect image of him stood on that roof in the sunlight with his daughters toy on his belt/braces was just *chefs kiss*)
I absolutely LOST IT when they did the proper ‘in situ’ version in the circular corridor, of the gunbarrel sequence they have at the start of every film, plus it had a hint of the theme music in the background which was the icing on the cake
Adore this film. It’s bold and understandably divisive but the sheer conviction with which they swung for those fences must be applauded. Léa Seydoux and Hans Zimmer’s music were spellbinding this time.
It's nice to see a studio trust the writers enough to let them do something like this. It's a beautiful ending, to see Bond come to terms with so many things and accept it.
@@mycroft16
Yes and as Bond fan it’s been nice to see a positive reaction for a change amidst a sea of TH-camrs in the Bond community endlessly complain about it. (The ending made them retreat into a lot of unfair criticisms.)
This was overall such an amazing franchise. While some films stood out, the franchise was fairly consistent in delivering an action packed movie, which is exactly what the audience wants from a Bond film. No Time to Die was actually quite different from the other franchise films in the sense that it gave a lot of attention to the emotional aspect of Bond which we typically do not get to see much of. I think it was the perfect ending to Daniel Craig as Bond while setting up very high stakes for the next Bond actor to take his place.
PS: Love your guys reaction to these films!! Am looking forward to the next franchise you guys plan on doing. If you guys are looking for a good show recommendation, I would love to see you guys react to the show Lucifer. I think its a really interesting show and definitely one worth checking out.
even though Bond is dead?
The franchise isn’t over, bond will be around forever
This was the first bond movie i've watched in the theatre's, and throughout this is my absolute favourite of all the bond movies i've seen and goldeneye, the build-up of this story was taking it slow and having it come full circle with the end of his storyline and seeing that it may not be the end as James having a daughter was a beautifull addition to it, i did think it might happen but didn't expect it would majorly happen, and making it was just something i think wasn't like there, an end to their character's wasn't there in the previous versions of bond, just absolute beautiful movie and Rami Malek didn't expect him being a bad guy, but when i saw the trailer he made it very good with the motive.
I watched all Daniel Craig movies in the cinema and I got to say that Craig is my favorit Bond actor and the best Bond for me.
Previous to him it was Pierce Brosnan with his Goldeneye movie.
The Louis Armstrong song "We Have All The Time In The World" and the use of that expression in the film refer back to the 1969 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. It was the only Bond film where the actor playing Bond, George Lazenby, only played the role in one film, but On Her Majesty's Secret Service was one of the best films in the series. It also starred the late Diana Rigg as Teresa Di Vicenzo, one of the best Bond women of all the films and my personal favorite.
Its amazing how you keep these videos entertaining, stay amazing
Devin is responsible for a lot of that. Thank you very much!
@@HoldenHardman Aww shucks!
Are you implying that the movie itself is not entertaining? Oo
@@OriginalPuro them as creators are entertaining
I thought that it was interesting that Craig’s last lines shared with Madeline reminded me of the other two of the biggest franchises in the world Star Wars and Harry Potter. The line “she has your eyes” is so similar to “you have your mother’s eyes” in Harry Potter. Then Craig replies “I know” which is the line that Han Solo replies to Leia’s “I love you” in Empire Strikes back. Two references to the most emotional parts of the two most popular franchises being used to wrap up Craig’s tenure is the most satisfying thing to think about and I really hope that it was intentional.
The latest God of War game drops this line several times, and it's used extremely well. Kratos is a man of little words, but his "I know."s Come at just the right times
I think it's just a simple coincidence because of how common and usual these lines are, it's nothing extraordinary dialogue writing-wise, it works well though.
Ohhhhh I've been waiting and it's here, I cannot stop watching these reactions on repeat. Bond is a part of my soul and so glad you guys are enjoying it. Lots of love from the UK keep up the superb content.
I had only seen Skyfall, but went back and binged all the Craig Bond movies right before this came out. This felt like such a good finale after the marathon I sprinted through 😄
The new 007 is a British actress named Lashana Lynch, who played Maria Rambeau, close friend of Earth-616's Carol Danvers and Earth-838's variant of Captain Marvel. I'm surprised Holden and Jen didn't recognize her........
Fun fact: The opening gun barrel scene gives a clue to the movie's ending. In all other Bond movies, we see the blood of the assassin 007 kills in the barrel sequence.
(Love that Lashan Lynch became the first femalre 007 too in this movie.)
It was quite the trip watching Hugh Dennis in that scene.
Holden and Jen . . . Bow chicka wow wow!
It's funny you mentioned "Au revoir, Shosanna" in that specific moment, as Léa Seydoux, the actress who plays Madeleine Swann, also plays Shosanna's sister in Inglorious Basterds!
Yeah. I cried. The perfect way to end Daniel Craig's final Bond film. And I LOVE Billie Eilish's theme song; it may be my fave Craig-era song and in my top three Bond themes of all-time! And we love no regrets about _Wall Street_ and your reaction! Ha!
I think after you see the film, at the very least, the theme becomes even more haunting and more ingrained in you
It's awful
Hans Zimmer’s score for this film elevates every single scene.
It was hard to top David Arnold and Thomas Newman’s work on the previous films, but Zimmer really nailed it
If you thinks about it, this was a Beautiful way for Bond to die. He couldn't save Vesper, M or Felix. But he kept his family safe and die at Peace.
I loved Ana de armas and her character in this movie, absolutely beautiful while still kicking ass and just excited and happy 😅😅
😂 I love the In Bruges reference, “YOU’RE AN INANIMATE F*CKING OBJECT”!
You guys should totally watch all the other old Bond movies. My parents and I did a Bond Marathon before we watched No Time to Die. Highly recommend even if there were a few stinkers in there
Fully agree
Really hoping they at least watch Goldeneye since they loves Judi Dench as M so much. Plus it's just a great film in general
@@CrazeeAdam I just want them to at least watch Majesty’s, that’s in my top 3 Bond flicks
fully agree but i think the word of stinkers should say some are better than others ps some are weaker yes stinkers NO
@@jamesbond99 I don’t know how else to describe Die Another Day
Watching this in theaters was definitely visually stunning, I mean it’s a bond film so the action was phenomenal. However I never knew how to feel about the story.
How so?
That's ok. Neither did the writers
Really really hope you guys watch Goldeneye next!! It's both Pierce Brosnman's and Judi Dench's first movie in the James Bond films. It's also considered one of the best Bond films as well. You guys wouldn't be disappointed
This one was definitely one of my favorites! When they we’re promoting the movie and Rami Malak as the villain, they said he was the “one to get under Bond’s skin” and he most definitely did 💯
The house where bond takes the outdoor shower is Ian Fleming's house in Jamaica.
James Bond jumping to conclusions with Madeleine at the start of the movie is because of Vesper. Because he was in the exact same spot at the end of Casino Royale, settled/retired and got betrayed, his previous experience/training kicked in, never second guessing is own judgement.
I'm a huge Bond fan, and have seen all of the films (ALL of them) multiple times. I bawled like a baby at the end of this one. The end was such a perfect callback to On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which until Casino Royale was really the only film to show Bond truly care about someone else. I think they did a tremendous job with those connections, and finally turning Bond into a true human.
As a bond fan that grew up watching the marathons on tbs every year, I loved every bit of this movie INCLUDING the end. I don't understand the bond fan base being sooooo upset with it. The point of the Craig bond films was to make bond realistic and naturally that ending should be on the table if you are going to be realistic. One man can only "dodge that bullet" so many times. As far as overall consistency I think the Craig bond films are the best of the franchise (everyone will agree casino and Skyfall are the best but I actually liked spectre. Giving all the threads and legal issues with the franchise they did they best they could. Quantum was my least fav but the villains plot of controlling a water supply has actually aged well.)
The song for this is right behind Skyfall by Adele for me, but all time gold finger is the one that sticks out at top.
9:00 he was actually shooting directly at her to shred the ice. Bullets slow down DRAMATICALLY in water(as shown in John Wick) Plus they had to penetrate ice thick enough to walk on.. Remember Wick had to literally put the barrel of his gun to the mans chest when they were in the pool fighting.
bruh you make it sound like john wick is documentary ahahha
28:02 the 5 star wanted level edit 🆒🤳
The photo you have above your bed has me cracking up 🤣🤣🤣🤣
After Craig expressed his disinterest in doing another, I didn't expect this movie to be made... But I'm glad they got the right production team together and convinced him to finish the series... Very solid movie
Loved that they just went for it, bonds been around so long we might as well get something new.
32:14 Great, Jen knows about that show, it's a masterpiece and Rami Malek knocks it out of the park in it. You should watch it, it's a very underrated gem, it's full of details that are very carefully placed, it also has many plot twists, great soundtrack, edition and clever dialogue and it's in my top 5 tv shows of all time.
I recommend watching the Pierce Brosnan Bond films. The lead villain, played by Rami Malek, also starred in the Night at the Museum trilogy, The Pacific, Mr. Robot and Bohemian Rhapsody, which earned him a Best Actor Oscar
You've got to give credit to this movie.... They could easily go with a Batman "I wasn't death" type of ending, but they had the balls to go to the very end killing Bond.... Not happy to see Bond go, but at least, it's a brave ending.....
I've seen this in the cinema alone for 5 times (and I was at all other DC Bonds). And rewatching it with you got me all worked up and emotional yet again, while being Ukrainian, the rockets at the end now hit on another level. It was some ride.
I would suggest watching older Bonds, at least some of them. This film refers OHMSS a lot, and that also would be a perfect suggestion. I personally also love both Dalton's and Connery (Ian Fleming was still alive for his 2-3 initial ones, even adding Bond Scottish ancestry because of him, you watched that in Skyfall) made the mainframe for all the series.
Little fun fact. Daniel Craig and Ana De Armas also starred in Knives Out together :)
I went to a premiere of this film at the Triumph Factory and met the guy who did most of the bike stunts in this film, including THAT jump. Amazing stories
6:40 goddamn Jen, that was a level 10. niceeeee
Fun fact - In that opening car chase, the old streets were too slick to perform the fast turns and car stunts. So they ended up spraying thousands of gallons of soda on the roads to made it sticky enough that the cars could maneuver as they needed them to.
"We're American, we double down on our mistakes." Is the most American thing ever said.
I know many don't like for the ending, but I love this movie, I think one of Craig's best like 007, very good action, the classic story with the villain who wants to destroy the world, the island of the villain, Bond's car: the classic Aston Martin of Sean Connery 007 movies, full of gadgets, everything like in the old 007 movies. It is also very well filmed, and with 35mm film roll cameras, not digital, that's the good thing, and it shows because the image is beautiful. Hans Zimmer's music, very good. And also the homage at various times to On Her Majesty's Secret Service, a cult movie from the old 007 movies, all of that made this movie win my heart.
i am in the camp OF people that liked the bond yes i know not many people like the ending but i understand why they wENT this route and for all the people who didn't like it i say what the end did say "JAMES BOND WILL RETURN" also i will say some are better than others .
Casino Royale is also my favorite out of the Craig series. The writing in the Pierce Brosnan series might not be consistently as good but I think you 2 would enjoy that series too, it has everything you came to the series to see, his one liners, the gadgets and stylish bravado without being too corny like Roger Moore or misogynistic like Sean Connery.
The song at the end, Louis Armstrong's "We Have All The Time In The World", is a direct callback to "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" starring George Lazenby as James Bond (his only movie, sadly). If you haven't seen it yet, please check it out.
@2:54
We see other 00 agents in several films, but in most of them they are nameless faceless window dressing or are killed off quickly to further the plot.
In Thunderball we see nine agents gathered for a briefing (003 is female), we see a similar situation play out in The World is Not Enough.
In The Living Daylights we see several 00 agents in a training exercise.
and in Octopussy, 009 is killed via knife to the back whilst dressed as a clown
@29:16
Bond and Felix Leiter work together on several occasions: Dr. No, Goldfinger, Thunderball, Diamonds are Forever, Live and Let Die, Licence to Kill, The Living Daylights, Casino Royal, Quantum of Solace, and No Time To Die
also James has been married before. Teresa “Tracy” Di Vicenzo, her tomb stone reads "We have all the time in the world"
I hope you guys had a great thanksgiving 😁🙏🏻
Dude! Remember when Jenn was just a text and poorly hidden smile during a "My Friend Watches"? It's been quite a journey!
It's not just that he couldn't be around them after he got infected. He couldn't leave the island without eventually killing his family. Eventually it would get to them through a person he touched who touched another who touched another. The only way to keep his family alive was for him to die there. Or to never touch another person again I suppose.
Also I remember catching but also not catching lol the 1st time watching when Bond and Madeline separated he says "you'll never see me again" she grabs her stomach. 1st viewing I was like "hmm" then the 2nd time I was like yeah that was definitely the hint she already knew she was pregnant at that time and she didn't find out afterwards.
Oh my lord, Holden mentioned the Agent Cody Banks movies in this. Those movies were amazing as a kid.
Ok, fuck, Bond staring at a brachiosaurus killed me.
I have really enjoyed this series. I hope you guys go back and check out the older films. This new perspective on these films have been enjoyable and hope to see more
Apparently we have Paloma because Daniel Craig really liked working with Ana de Armas in Knives Out, and asked them to add a part for her.
Since you leave me no choice here my mandatory engagement with your content: I like you guys.
"we have all the time in the world" was a call back to Her majesty secret service which wasn't really considered part of the Bond franchise because it didn't have a Bond intro or Bond will return at the end.
Ana De Armas steals the show in this one! Really wanted more of her character.
She's getting her own movie isn't she?
@@halfcentaur9836 Not sure about her Bond character, but I think she's getting her own film spin-off in the John Wick franchise.
@@AmazingChi oh that's right, it was a John Wick spin-off. I guess that'll do too!
13:15 There is a clue that Madeleine was pregnant. She puts her hand on her abdomen.
This film helped Ana de Arnas get the John Wick spinoff.
18:15 They were supposed to kill Bond, that was his toothbrush. Instead they switched and killed the members of Spectre.
Both child actors did great.
I never usually comment on stuff, but Jens makeup skills are crazy on point.
Knives out I highly recommend. Especially with Glass Onion releasing on Netflix soon.
Holden: That’s how it goes
Jen: [Silent indignation]
Holden: …uh, for other men.
Nice save.
I enjoyed No Time To Die but honestly i had problems with some of it & rate it below Casino Royale & Skyfall.
Also, you should definitely watch a handful of the best Bond films or even just the Brosnan one's which are mostly great.
The one where bond dies. I didn't even think it was a bad film overall, but that will forever be its legacy no matter how many times they reboot. The death of an icon.
If they don’t do a spin off Paloma movie series then they are just out of their minds. Ana De Armas nailed it!
Regarding Bond calling Felix his brother and them not being that close, it's how Felix introduced himself the first time they met in Casino Royale. "Brother from Langley".
Fun fact: Daniel Craig and the producer Barbara decided killing him off long time ago, actually right after the premiere of Casino Royale in 2006.
Jen crushing on Ana haaaarrrddd!
The Bedroom Saga Returns!!
All thanks to Beeg Boston!😅❤️
20:00 Ana was indeed excellent. I hope she comes back in the new Bond films.
Just commenting to bring engagement and interaction to the video.
The Felix brother thing was a call back to Felix always calling Bond brother, like as in Brothers of the espionage world... agents CIA and MI6, cut from the same cloth. Felix hinted at this in Casino Royale. I too thought that was a bit off the first time i watched this until I realised what he meant, easy little detail to miss.
Ana de Armas is so lovely and just as beautiful in this as the ever helpful Paloma.
I hope that we see her again in a few more Bond movies.
Felix and Bond's relationship is highlighted a lot more in the books, the Craig movies didn't really do their relationship justice.
Yeah, I wish Felix had been in Skyfall or Spectre.
The pronunciation of Ralph Fiennes' name is the reason I thought for the longest time that there was a Ralph and a Ray and that they were brothers.
I saw this in theaters and felt it was a fitting wrap up to the series. And kudos on the epic trolling 😂😂
The best Bond movie of them all, especially with that ending
The beds head board being so high makes you look like 2 tiny people sat on a normal bed
I didn't love the entire film but loved they had the balls to make it where he couldn't be his love or his kid he JUST found out he had and didn't "Disney ending" it by finding an antidote or even giving a glimmer of hope about a cure. Then killing him off actually killing him I liked the decisions they chose.
Casino: 10
Skyfall: 9.9
No Time: 9
Spectre: 7.5
Quantum: 7
If you haven't already to the much better Mission Impossible movies. 2nd one not as great, but after the third movie they just get better and better.
I watched this opening night in a packed theatre and literally everyone was crying when Bond died
I love how they shot this one and the intro song Is one of my favs since its by Billie Elish
With all her Lost references I’m surprised Jen didn’t mention Jin and Sun during the scene of Felix’s death 😢
i saw this movie twice in the cinemas and it made me cry.... twice
25:27 way iconic than Maddy Perez slapping Cassie Howard in Euphoria. 🤣🤣🤣
Didn't expect Euphoria spoilers in a Bond film comment section but here we are.
My wife an I were pregnant when we saw this film, she isn’t a crier in film, but this got her-Bad lol and Amazing the Jen has watched Fringe, you guys should tackle that series, and “Almost Human” & “Alcatraz “ both came out by the folks of “Fringe” after it ended.
Daniel Craig is for me definitely the best Bond of all we have had. I think his movies were the least cheesie and the most realistic when you look back over previous Bonds (realistic compared to older ones). I think the scene where Felix died was very striking, especially considering the parallels with how Vester died in Casion Royale. It obviously affected Bond a lot and it highlighted how close he actually was to him, especially later when he described him as a brother. I also think killing Bond off at the end was a very suprising twist. I watche this at a cinema theatre and was completely blown away about that. For me, it was a fantastic end to Daniel Craig's tenure as Bond.
🥃 To, James.
If you enjoyed Rami Malek’s character you should watch his Freddie Mercury performance in Bohemian Rhapsody
I honestly think you should watch On Her Majesty's Secret Service as the next Bond movie; it's one of the best. It's was George Lazenby's one and only outing as Bond before Sean Connery came back for one more before handing over to Roger Moore.
This borrowed quite a bit from the earlier Bond film and book, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, particularly the music and one of the story arcs. Rami Malek’s Saffin has a lot in common with Blofeld from the Bond novel You Only Live Twice.
29:25 anyone noticed????
