Not to be that guy...but it's actually the second longest. Longest one happened in the Twilight: Breaking Dawn Pitch meeting (probably my favorite pitch meeting and the closest Producer Guy ever came to just dying inside).

I love how the EMP watch was "very powerful" and blows up several levels of power and a bionic eye, but Bond's earpiece and the silo's doors worked perfectly fine immediately after
The EMP had Nanomachines, don't worry about it.
It's actually very easy to do that. Barely an inconvenience.
I liked how the EMP watch had ZERO impact on NanoBOTS...

The only real error with depiction of Bond's EMP emmiter is the igniting of the bionic eye. Although Q doesn't say so, all of Bond's and fem007's electronic equipment would be very realistically presumed to be EMP resistant. Integrated circuitry is very vulnerable to EMP. Large load electrical components such as lever switches, large electric motors, etc to open/close blast doors aren't affected by EMP.
Writer: "So Bond is standing there as missiles approach the island."
Producer: "Oh, boy, it's gonna be difficult to get outta that one."
Writer: "... uh ...yes it is."
Oh, man, HUGE missed opportunity there!!

I thought Bond was lying to Madeleine so she thought he was dead and then he would escape (like the start of Skyfall).
What I learned from this movie: While Bond is 100% impervious to bullets, explosions do have a mild, almost unpleasant effect on him, so … they're clearly worse.
He must have had at least 8 bullet holes in him by the end of the movie.

I'll always be mad they didn't use the "It's time to die" line when Bond literally killed someone with a watch

He's probably still alive. He took a bomb in the face with little to no effect at the start of the movie after all. A missile exploding a hundred yards away should be fine 🙂

@@MotherBra1n "one of the most compassionate people on the show" is a huge overstatement IMO. She was extremely cruel to those she disagreed with, and I think it was always clear that her ego played a large part in her freeing of slaves etc. The end was still terribly handled though.
@@grantmalone she had a hero complex and occasionally stepped over the line when it came to punishing people that had wronged her or innocent people (such as the slavers, not the tarly's they got what they deserved, it's a medieval setting, it's a war, they killed her strongest westerosi ally and fought against her).
But in terms of her attitude to the common people and trying to protect those who've been oppressed by society, only Jon Snow comes close to her in that regard. Never forget the scene where Jorah says "don't bother taking that city, it won't get you any closer to westeros and the Iron throne, you have no reason to take it" to which she replies something along the lines of "there 300000 slaves in yunkai, so we have 300000 reasons to take the city"
So no, burning down 1 million innocent people for no reason with no remorse simply makes no sense

Actually, Bond can't touch anyone, not just Madeleine and his daughter. This is because the people he touches might pass the nanobots to Madeleine.

I commented the exact same. He would need to be in complete isolation for the rest of his life.
It still is a HUGE convenience for the plot that they are "permanent" since they are just tiny robots but given thats how they chose to go with it, it makes sense
The weirdest thing with the Nanobots was that the whole point was that they were targeted, and then the villain was making them untargeted, which would make them a normal bioweapon.
There was something about DNA databases being hacked.
I assume there was some selectivity.
Actually he was selling them to other bad guys along with a database with all the info and classified DNA needed to customise their targeting.
What I find even weirder is that it's basically just a virus. No idea why they called it nanobots. How can nanobots reproduce exactly?

The "We're not so different you and I" line got me 😂 That's exactly what Dr.Evil tells Austin Powers which is in itself a parody of James Bond.
Also every villain in the mcu.. and ever, its such a lazy overused line that has no value unless theres some truth to it but there never is its just a line writters drop in when they dont know what to have the villain say

Not sure if anyone had mentioned this. The nanotechnology dna thing was done nearly just like this in Metal Gear Solid, ps1 game, years ago!

Although this was the absolutely perfect ending for the Craig bond story arch.
I don't believe it was necessary to kill Bond off now that close a lot of possibilities beside Craig goner make some more scenes after this movie through tapes just like his former boss lady.

Swan is a boring character in general. But these movies trying to act like she's somehow the woman who can cull Bond of all people is ridiculous. Especially in light of the ridiculous chemistry between Bond and Vesper. If they had to go this route, they should have brought back Camille from Quantum of Solace. I would completely buy them as an aging spy couple.

Safin's plan was to use Madeline to kill Blofeld, he didn't know Bond would get access as well. A weird plot point overlap from the writers. Guess they reeeealllly wanted the audience to guess what would happen next and feel smart.

The biggest problem I had with the movie was the idea that the nanobots wouldn't be affected by the EMP.
Like, have the writers watched literally _none_ of the shows or movies ever made that featured nanotechnology? Barring perhaps the Borg nanites in Star Trek, nanotechnology is literally always vulnerable to EMPs.
Seriously, that longest pause ever. And that was the perfect reason to do so.

I liked some action scenes in NTTD but the villan is just absent and evil because he is evil.
Screenwriters just wanted to make the entire movie about James Bond and its not right!
I don't understand how so many writers fail to come up with an evil goal for their villain that isn't "destroying the entire world or human race"... surely there are other steps before getting to that point

In my opinion, going this connected stories way for James Bond was a huge mistake. They should have just done one offs. That's more James Bond style.

Especially since there are long gaps between them. Spectre was six years ago, and expecting me to be invested in Bond and Madeleine's (?) relationship when I couldn't even remember if she was from the other movie is a little much, especially since their relationship in that one was pretty much, she's a girl, he's James Bond, do the math, but not the math about their ages because that would be weird.
Particularly because it doesn't make sense. In Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace he's a baby, a newly-minted 00 agent and those two happen right after the other. But then immediately after in Skyfall Bond is already too old, jaded, tired and has seen everything.
That's why Skyfall and Casino Royale are the best Craig movies.

Well, i mean i do remember the basic dynamics, like who is Mr. White and Spectre. But then again i've seen Casino Royale like 20 times, Quantum and Skyfall 10 times and Spectre twice.

Honestly one of the most fun things about these is predicting when the screenwriter guy will reply with "super easy, barely an inconvenience." I usually say it with him.
After spectre i thought that they couldnt have a more underwhelming villain. I was wrong , Rami malek was even more underwhelming. I dont mind Bond dying but they just killed him because it was Daniels last outing as Bond and you could feel from the beginning he is gonna die. Pity, a great villain like Le chiffre couldnt kill Bond but an underwhelming villain does.
Bond chose to die.
The only thing that can kill Bond, is Bond.
