Hi, first time watcher of your channel, Long-time watcher of Timberborn content. i must say, Thank you so much for being normal, i am so incredibly fed up of the two more popular content creators constant lowbrow comedy like their entire audience is 10 years old. It is genuinely so refreshing to find a channel that can make quality and entertaining content without grasping at low-hanging fruit. Fantastic Video, i look forward to the rest of the season.
Thanks for giving me a shot! I try very hard to just be a normal dude having fun with the game. I'll do some jokes here and there but I try to keep it at least somewhat accessible for people to watch with their kids.
So, backstory, i work nights on call and on the back of this first episode, i proceeded to binge the next 6 episodes right up until i finished. You sir have very swiftly become my new only source of Timberborn content. Fantastic job. 👏🏼
I’ve never seen this channel before, I’m used to watching Biffa and RCE play Timberborn, so a change of pace is a bit refreshing honestly. You make it look so easy, can tell you’re experienced in this game. Not having the forester in and the lumber mill in early as I’m used to made me nervous but it actually makes so much more sense. Looking forward to watching the rest of your play through of update 6
I stumbled over your channel a few weeks ago and since then have been binge-watching most of your Timberborn content. I love it, it's so relaxing to watch, you have a great calm voice (I feel awkward for saying that but it IS true, lol xD) and are mostly building in a way so that it satisfies my inner dork and it doesn't drive me crazy xD Happy to see you're starting a new series for update 6 - I'm all here for it!! Keep up the great work :)
Lol you talked about this on Penguins earlier today hoping it'd come soon and then it shadow-drops. Start mentioning a third 'canon' beaver faction and maybe they'll add them in update 7 😆
If they ever do that I want to see them add a faction that uses rubber as resource, and maybe they could even not have smelters, instead using scrap for a lot of late game buildings
The new water physics (and everything belonging to this, like levees not ground-bound anymore) sounds really interesting (much more than the wonders). E.g. the sluices will make it possible to have deeper reservoirs where we let water out as needed for irrigation purposes. Of course, I'm waiting to see how that will look for the water beavers when these are adjusted. → 10:31 Your second lumberjack flag has no cuttable area nearby. For some reason it doesn't complain about this - I suppose a few of the not-yet-grown pine trees are just in range? (Noticed at 13:04.) → 11:41 Strange, the sluice doesn't need gears? (The flood gate also didn't, so I guess that's consequent, but why put a gear icon on it then?) → 29:13 "But now that the dam is constructed" ... we can harvest some of these oak trees on the other side? No? - 33:35 "I am going to start cutting more of these [pines]" - I'd just have skipped the pines and go directly to the oaks. Cutting half of these should be enough to get to the forester, without touching the pines. (35:50 you got the same idea - turns out we even need way less than half.)
Just started this map and now the lower center between the two water sources are earth platforms and under them is a hallow center with an old ruin for scrap metal. Thought it was a nice touch to the map when I found it.
just wanted to let u know that i appreciate the long form videos. You seem to worry about it a bit, but based on ur views and subs, i think many of us do :P. keep doing your thing. you are doing great!
Don't worry about not over editing. Personally I like when the editing is used for jokes and not to make cuts in the content. If I find a part of a video to be meh and feeling like their should be a cut or speed up I can just skip ahead. It gives the viewers the power to choose what part of the playthrough they wanna watch.
Oh man, this really is a huge difference with how water is done and being able to handle aqueducts. Building above with overhangs is going to make this a map a ton of fun with its higher points.
Thoughts now that I've finished: one of those small piles should become stairs instead to open access to that next level where it's still partially green. More space to plant and use for storage. For the staired section where the new lodges will be, we should have another set of stairs down, maybe aligned with the power wheel path. That will help in the medium term to keep it short.
Now i need to get back in and play it. I forgot that update 6 hit. Have been sucked into Terratech Worlds for a while now. Watching your game play always inspires me to return.
The Mechanical Water Pump got an upgrade from 4 to 5 deep for the Folktails :) I discovered you can now build things from the side of a bridge, which is great!
Was about to recommend more storage for carrots but then you went ahead and did it around 38:55. I think you should put a schedule or something in your channel banner or description, and maybe change them as required when new series like this are started.
Schedule will be updated soon. I didn't have the time this morning between pushing to get this done ASAP before I had to go to my "real job" 🤣 Thanks for watching!
My last regular playthrough was this map and I worked on getting the finite amount of water to as much area as possible. I started this update earlier today and noticed the water flow right away.
An idea: how about creating an aqua farm above the storage for the crops? Not because it is efficient, but because you’ll be able to do it with the update and doing things because you can would be a fun way to explore the mechanics.
I wouldn't have built the lumber mill and power wheel on fertile ground (plant food there instead). Wouldn't it make more sense to put them on brown ground that won't likely see any water? Thinking on same plateau as their houses would work well....
AQUEDUCTS! LETS GO! Sorry, I’ve had ideas involving aqueducts. Like a 49x49 map where building vertically is necessary for getting to 200 pop. I want to make the smallest footprint 200 pop self sufficient Beaver colony.
I think we're going to get a lot of great mods sooner rather than later. I'm a bit worried about the water beavers with all this new stuff, but we'll see what our dear friend Lapan is able to do
The stress of being entertaining while playing means lots of messy gameplay or dumb mistakes. But... in a way thats the beauty of watching that gameplay. The issue with rce is most is recorded months before ect and its just too late to assist. While jc here encourages it as a lets play :3

What’s so important about the pine trees over the oak trees?
I dont remember it being a thing prior to this update but you can now flip buildings
That was added at some point in Update 5, I think. But it's great to have regardless!
God i love it when developer look at mods and say "hey ppl love this, lets include it in base game so non modders can enjoy it too" 😉😉
