Goldmask quest is literally spelled out by Coeryn, hence Goldmask going ... isn't complicated. Marika manipulating Ranni is not how I would put this. Ranni already had her own goal to sever the ties with her empyrean flesh and golden order. Marika started opposing golden order and greater will as well. Hence imo Marika helps out Ranni with her goal, rather than manipulating her.

That's why I choose the Flame. "Burn the Erdtree to the ground and incinerate all that divides and distinguishes. Ahh, may chaos take the world! May chaos take the world!" ~ a quote from a personal hero of mine
I personally don't see it, but I love all the things you noticed. I feel it is more probable that Ranni is the bastard child of radagon and marika, with the whole cuckoo thing, and that Marika is simply trying to make a certain thing happen in many possible ways, and Ranni isn't necessarily the only one. We go to Millicent with grace, Rykard, Dominula, and even Castle Sol. We also get no grace underground. I feel there is a love between Marika and Ranni, but I don't know if there is enough direct evidence to say they are the same being. We get a lot of twoness in the game, two morgotts, two mohgs, two godfreys, st trina and Miq, Marika and Radagon, two children born of fire, and so on. However, not all these twin things are exactly the same, they all manifest in various forms. Ranni has her own twoness showing, and I feel it just doesn't click for it to become this extra layer on top of Marika+Radagon. My two cents, doesn't mean I am right at all. Your main point is that Ranni can move her spirits, but this really doesn't signify your conclusion and I don't see anything directly acting as evidence otherwise. Occams razor makes me believe the conclusion is probably simpler, like Marika just wanted a lord, and it isn't necessarily only Ranni's quest that does that, thus the many guidances.
Thing is, as a Tarnished I'm loyal to Queen Marika, and follow the age of stars because her grace points along it and the other endings feel like band-aid solutions(Elden Lord) or getting mad at the computer you cant fix and smashing it(Lord of chaos). So this hardly deters me from following the age of stars.
Hi. I loved the video. Its videos like these that really make me love Elden Ring. I haven't played it myself but i do follow a lot of its content and love the lore specially. Its always awesome when creative people like you bring forward such awesome conjectures . Calling it a conjecture since the story of Elden Ring has a lot more if i am not mistaken. I just wanna ask this....the Frienzied Flame....No one suspects it but i feel its one of Marika's fail safe but no idea to what end.... It does trigger Melina to open her Other Eye and mention the coming of the Destined Death.... So far Melina's other eye is the only Non Marika thing we have seen so far but on the suface , is it truly though ? But does make one wonder why she removed the Rune of Destined Death from the Elden Ring in the first place?
For what you say, Marika could just regreat what the greater will "made" her do, making she help Ranni and us for a new path, to not repeat the same mistakes.
I’ve always thought Marika and ranni worked together to orchestrate a grand plan. Their actions mirror each other but there opposites in the sense that Marika did a lot to achieve godhood but ultimately wanted out while ranni was easily a candidate from birth but wanted out before she was groomed into it. This theory I can support and adds more to missing pieces of this story And as you touched upon it Elden ring has a heavy theme on twins and duality As we know we’ve been doing miquellas dirty work to get into the dlc. Marika still guides us the the shadow realm to thwart miquallas plan because there’s no freedom. Where as she guides us to ranni to have the good ending of the game. It makes sense now why Marika would support ranni so much. I’ve always believed and it’s shown throughout the story that Marika has a by any means necessary type of mindset that plays 4D chess, knowing she was under the pretense of a false order that wasn’t hers and wanting to be free from it she’d do anything to for that. Especially knowing how her life was before godhood this is further supported But adding your theory to mine it makes it sound more legit that ranni was marikas way out
This also (imo) explains why the Age of Stars ending is so much different than the other non-Frenzy endings, where you ultimately just sit on the throne lol
I don't think the cinematic depicts Marika taking life energy out of corpses, but she is stealing the power out of the Scadu Tree and using it to create the elden ring and what would later become the Erd Tree. This is why the Scadu Tree is twisted and wounded when we go to the land of shadows, because Marika sundered it to achieve her own ambitions, or perhaps the ambitions of the greater will, which may or may not have manipulated her from the start as the outer god parasite it is.
This theory still needs alot of proof, there is alot of stretching, if radagon is marika why would he attack us stopping us from ushering the age of stars? Also Marika's order is the golden order, when people die they go to the erdtree, ranni's order is the natural order, when people die they just die, there is alot of differences between golden age and age of the stars
Great theory, simply cinema. Only that I not agree is that Marika would be Snow Witch. With the DLC is confirmed that there was three moons, each other represents a carian princess and her caractheristics: Rennala, the Full Moon that all we known; Rellana, the younger sister and the Twin Moon; and Renna, the Dark Moon and the misterious original Snow Witch. I think she is the oldest sister and Ranni was her aprentice, and to honor her, Ranni make it done a doll with her figure. Remember that Rennala, her mother, take Ranni to the forest and introduced her the Snow Witch to became her mentor, it make senses that the Snow Witch would be Rennala's sister and someone to trust her child, and finally Ranni would inherit the power of Dark Moon.
Honestly there are a few points that aren't holding together due to lacking evidence but all in all this looks plausible. Given how Marika is it would be too farfetched to think her ultimate goal was to shed the shackles of the Greater Will and her other self by having a tarnished kill them to then stop all the influences by "abandoning" the lands with the said tarnished. If anything the DLC helps this theory as the grace guides us to kill Miquella and stop his claims to godhood and the lands. Really nice and very well done the video looks crisp 👌
Sellen might not be the only one using a puppet body (note: puppets are alive, dolls are not), we know the same about Seluvis as well, and I suspect masters Lusat and Azur to also live in new bodies while we can only find their original immobile bodies.
Yeah GRRM really loves doing the puppet puppeteering the puppeteer tropes in his writing. And he mockingly tells us this by having Ranni be an actual puppet 😂
Yet another reason why Marika is just the worst. I understand why she turned out the way that she did, but it doesn’t really justify all of the horrible actions she’s committed.
Marika and Ranni have such an interesting relationship, ik we focus a lot on Marika being tied to faith but her scarseal also shows she had connection to both int and arcane. If she is the snowy crone, it'd explain even further how Ranni learned spirit manipulation. (Additionally it'd be curious to know if Renalla had received "tutoring" from the snowy crone, my Renalla x Marika ship thrives)
That would be interesting if Rennalla also knew the snowy crone. And I'm pretty sure Ranni did learn spirit manipulation through Marika, be it her glamoured as the snowy crone or just herself.
Marika probably knows frost magic because of her ties to the Hornsent. The Divine Beast in Belurat has an attack that involves the frost status effect. It's interesting to note that the Land of Shadow doesn't have snowy terrain, so where else can Marika learn spells of such nature?
@@mmyr8ado.360 it's entirely possible Marika spent some time away from the shadowlands among the Zamor, they also share the braids that Marika had. Ice storm (the spell) specifically calls it a tornado of ice, very similar to the Hornsent's Divine Beast Tornado 🤔
Renalla is only in love with Radagon, not Marika, and Marika even hated Rennala, especially when she became a champion and climbed the ladder to become Queen of Caria, and it was by sending Radagon that she wanted to defeat her, and then what happened happened. Radagon and Marika are two different people who merged, it's not just one person.
Wouldn't surprise me. Marika is a shape shifter. The mimic veil reveals this. Renna could also be the Gloam Eyed Queen... or a piece of her. What? Did you think that Marika and Malenia are the only Empyreans who could shrug off parts of themselves?
Anoter point to support your theory. Crone has a more rare definition “(rare) An old man; especially, a man who talks and acts like an old woman.” I immediately thought of Radagon. Radagon is Rannis father afterall, having been married to Renala perhaps the warning came from him knowing something :]
PLS READ‼️In the base game when after you get torrent and speak to ranni at night she mentions torrent. What bothered me about it was that we know torrent was w miquella in the shadow realm, and ended up w melina to give to us. Ranni says she got something from torrents former master to give to us which makes me think, ranni has been to the shadow realm or knows about it. I say this because miquella was w mogh throughout the whole story or so we thought since in truth he was having the tarnished do his dirty work while in the shadow realm most likely. So for ranni to have met torments former master means ranni must’ve met miquella just before the tarnished meets ranni. And where else will miquella be??? Boom shadow realm For Ranni to know about the shadow realm means she’s been conspiring w Marika since she wouldn’t want anyone to know about the shadow unless they were close. Not only that but the if you look at that particular interaction ranni was first confused of hearing about the tarnished and their spectral steed but upon further investigation she discerns the particular spectral steed and names him. 😮this theory goes hard when you consider this part. I hope you see this comment‼️
You bring up some good points! And in my first Elden Ring video I theorized that Miquella was Torrents former master and that Ranni and Miquella probably communicated in the Shadow realm since she is a spirit!
I believe that Melina is the reincarnation of Ranni's, born severed from Ranni's Soul, but still bound to her same fate. Melina must still burn, for that is her fate, as it was the fate of Ranni before her. Life was she accorded for this alone. But Ranni escaped her fate, and now lives free of her destiny, free to choose for herself.

Spirit tuning woman that was mentioned by Hewg, should not be Marika because the hue in the eyes. Marika and her bloodline have golden eyes, Ranni included (Her true body). Roderika has blue eyes, not golden. But the Carians have blue eyes, Rennala eyes are blue, and she use spirit summon in the fight.
Counterpoint: Most things in the Lands Between have golden eyes. The Gold of Grace obscures and sometimes overwrites one's natural eye color. Even (the true) Rennala was some gold in her eyes. What made the Tarnished *tarnished* is the distinct lack of this gold.

Most people do get the Age of Stars ending according to Steam, right now its at 28%. That ending has a higher percentage than Elden Lord (23%) and Frenzied Flame (16%). You can get the Elden Lord Achievement by doing Age of Fracture, Age of Duskborn, Blessing of Despair, and Age of Order, but Age of Stars still has a higher percentage.

She manipulated YALL, not I. I am THEE ELDEN LORD OF THE PERFECT ORDER! It was I who chose to mend the perfect rune for my own age. All other gods and legends were dropped to rest on my path to god hood. The Lands Between are mine to correct as Elden Lord. And with my perfect order, I would ensure that life can thrive here. Not be abandoned by unworthy gods. Age Of Order imo is the canonical best ending in the game. It’s the only one that ensures true life (order and chaos equally) with fair means. No gods, no outside interference from ancient ones, no uprisings, just fair, equal life. All other endings are diabolical in nature. With either twisted ways of living, abandonment, destruction, and ignorance. With perfect order all life is put to equal grounds.

I agree with this, it has more occams razor.
Corhyn is biased by his desire to be important, and very explicitly does not really understand what goldmask is communicating. Multiple times he admits he just copies what he sees blindly, and when he does finally listen, he abandoned Goldmask for a heretic.
@@hermithefrog629 I didn't said Corhyn understands Goldmask. Corhyn spells out the quest for you, as in getting in done, not the plot itself.

Miquella murdered himself to achieve godhood, Ranni murdered her family to achieve godhood.
Miquella had mohg seduced and killed, had radahn assassinated, messmer assassinated, malenia abandoned and trina discarded to become a god
ranni also murdered herself to become a god by the way,at least her end goal wasnt to enslave the world.
@@tsu_nani2380 Her end goal was to leave the world in a wasteland which is akin to murdering the whole world. We killed Mogh, Radahn and Messmer, BTW. Miquella essentially destroyed everything he is while Ranni just killed her body but kept everything else.

Ranni willingly murders her half brother for a chance at personal freedom and condemns most of the Lands Between in the process. Marika outcasted and subdued entire races to humiliation. Them both killed and betraied to accomplish their goals. Mogh was the master mind of a satanist group responsible for blood sacrifices concentration camps. He was the only person miquella discarted. Unlike Ranni, miquella didnt screw over THE WHOLE WORLD to promote himself. Marika betrayed, killed and outcated races, abandoned partners and friends, sons and Ranni is the empirean who looks like her the most, she willingly murders her half brother for a chance at personal freedom and condemns most of the Lands Between in the process. Its excplicity explained that miquella went to the lands of shadow to repair his families sins.

"Burn the Erdtree to the ground and incinerate all that divides and distinguishes.
Ahh, may chaos take the world!
May chaos take the world!"
~ a quote from a personal hero of mine
Don't you gaslight is about this ending, it's the only one we don't end up maidenless!

"More of a feature than a bug." Broooooo 😂😂😂🤣☠️☠️
is marika the one who keeps bringing us back from death?
Probably... she is the one that brought the tarnished back in the beginning of the game
Just another reason to let chaos take the world.
And people hate me for saying Lord of frenzy flame is the only good ending.
The mimic veil is called "Marika's Mischief"
This theory I can support and adds more to missing pieces of this story
And as you touched upon it Elden ring has a heavy theme on twins and duality
As we know we’ve been doing miquellas dirty work to get into the dlc.
Especially knowing how her life was before godhood this is further supported
But adding your theory to mine it makes it sound more legit that ranni was marikas way out
This also (imo) explains why the Age of Stars ending is so much different than the other non-Frenzy endings, where you ultimately just sit on the throne lol
So Ranni is our mother ,sister and wife?

I don't think the cinematic depicts Marika taking life energy out of corpses, but she is stealing the power out of the Scadu Tree and using it to create the elden ring and what would later become the Erd Tree. This is why the Scadu Tree is twisted and wounded when we go to the land of shadows, because Marika sundered it to achieve her own ambitions, or perhaps the ambitions of the greater will, which may or may not have manipulated her from the start as the outer god parasite it is.
me going to be lord of frenzy
These thumbnails don’t help this community’s reputation
Lmao
Bahahaha they are all waifu fan art
This theory still needs alot of proof, there is alot of stretching, if radagon is marika why would he attack us stopping us from ushering the age of stars? Also Marika's order is the golden order, when people die they go to the erdtree, ranni's order is the natural order, when people die they just die, there is alot of differences between golden age and age of the stars
Me, doing the Age of Order ending since it's nearly the same except you don't marry the funny big blue doll:
Girl how did I miss the similarities! I have often wondered about Ranni, but never that she and Marika could be the same person.
There are 2 big ways she is manipulating me right now
I like your take on this... also I want to play elden ring now
I still havent gotten Age Of Stars. So far the only endings ive bothered with are Perfect Order, Dung Eater and Frenzy.

Incredible thumbnail 👌
Just become the lord of frenzied flame and burn it all down just like Elden Lord Beavis would’ve done
Bro this lore of elden ring is crazy
Wouldn't surprise me. Marika is a shape shifter. The mimic veil reveals this.
Renna could also be the Gloam Eyed Queen... or a piece of her.
What? Did you think that Marika and Malenia are the only Empyreans who could shrug off parts of themselves?
my head have a big boom watching this video
Anoter point to support your theory. Crone has a more rare definition “(rare) An old man; especially, a man who talks and acts like an old woman.” I immediately thought of Radagon. Radagon is Rannis father afterall, having been married to Renala perhaps the warning came from him knowing something :]
What Age of Stars? I'm watching the World Burn.

lol love that for you
PLS READ‼️In the base game when after you get torrent and speak to ranni at night she mentions torrent.
Boom shadow realm
For Ranni to know about the shadow realm means she’s been conspiring w Marika since she wouldn’t want anyone to know about the shadow unless they were close.
@@SilverMooney all the more reason to speculate that ranni isn’t who she says she is, or at least not the full story.

No, Roderika has green eyes
