Hi. This video is about Wiring a consumer unit. As I've got plenty of time isolating at home I decided to to this video fully animated, I used Adobe Animate and Premiere Pro to put it together. Hope it helps . The most important is to fit all the neutral wires in a correct sections of the neutral bar.

Fantastic explanation. Slow, organised and concise. I tried another real life wiring video which left me completely confused. This video is not only well thought out, but quite pleasant to watch even if you had no interest in wiring one yourself.

How to isolate the mains though?
@@irishfairy7644 Pull out the main fuse. You'll have to know what to look for. Not recommended for novices. 100amp fuse pulls are known to arc. 😅 ⚡
Very informative, great video. It won't stop DIYers, general builders touching electrics, its just 3 wires, they can watch several videos and do rewires. How I see - it will bring more work for competent electricians deal with consequences.
3 things forgot to mention:
1. Bonding.
2. Electrical installation certificate.
3. Fuse box or adding new circuit to fuse box it is part P notifiable work and home owner can be fined thousands of pounds for illegal building work if is not compliant.

Absolutely excellent and easily understood wiring video, the only thing missing is the main earth cable which should come as third cable from the meter supply.
I am a gas engineer tr aining in electrics as my bsck has gone. I got a real good understanding on electrics other then consumer unit as never got invovled with this before. Great explanation its actually very simple to j the way you explained ust looks daunting

Very nice way of teaching i now understand who this works but was not completly sure when you was teaching how to plug them in the above units from the circits, also can you do a video if we have to wire a electric heater/radiator who to connect to new braker and which wire to use and how to calculate them etc?
