Hi Ali, I love your recent work - but your videos on learning and memory were really what allowed me to get through Cambridge! I hope you make more videos on studying again in the future! These are super helpful and I personally think you can add even more value with these videos, than with your more general productivity stuff!
REQUEST - As a audience point of view it will be great for us to have a single course in which we able to learn- 1. Most effective ways to reading books 2. How to develop and keep interest for subjects 3. How to keep our mind focused while studying 4. How to make notes for each huge subjects for exam in most effective way 5. Most effective ways to retain information what we read and learn forever ex- If i am Law student where i need to learn so many sections and article numbers for each subjects corresponding to different concepts 6. Most effective ways to testing and revisions. 7. What world top learners understand at core and do which average people dont do and know. Love from India 🙏🏾
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🧠 To remember what you learn, avoid diving into details right away. Instead, get a broad understanding of the subject first, like exploring a map. 01:51 📚 Just-in-time learning is more effective than just-in-case learning. Learn what's necessary and relevant in the moment. 03:45 🤔 Follow your curiosity; learning things you are curious about makes it easier to remember them. 06:34 🧠 Teach what you've learned to others; it reinforces your memory and helps them learn too. 08:28 💡 Sharing what you've learned online, like through a newsletter, not only helps others but solidifies your own understanding. 09:25 📖 Use low-friction methods like Readwise to resurface and review your highlighted content. 11:04 📝 Practice active recall by testing yourself, which is more effective than re-reading or summarizing. Made with HARPA AI
Best Moments for me [square brackets are my own thoughts] 1:41 Just-in-time learning [ so important. When you meet a situation, learn about how to handle it now!] 3:12 Action first. Theory second. 6:24 Protege effect. Teach what you learn now [ This is also great as you bond with others through your shared interest] 7:40 level up loom [fantastic idea. Everyone in a team must share their ideas] 8:20 share what u learn online. Sunday Snippers. [ Hence he created an email newsletter. He sends it out each week] 10:43 Active Recall. Test yourself now. [ I take photos of key pages on my phone. Can flick through these images anytime] Thank you for this video Ali !!
For me, the most important ones seems to be Just in time 1:41 and the active recall at 10:43 Also sharing what you know online via a newsletter 8:20 is great as well
Absolutely brilliant. "Sharing what you learn" is something I've been doing since I first read the idea in Stephen R. Covey's "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" in 1993. Other tips were completely new to me. This the second video of Ali's I've seen, and I'm impressed with how useful they are.
Learning about things that you are curious about has always done well for me. What's great is that your curiosities change over time so you are constantly learning. Chasing your curiosity is actually a part of my framework for living an extraordinary life.
Just-in-time learning was an absolute game changer for me as a student! I could never keep up with the reading but through trial and error I found if I downloaded past papers and just read around what I needed know to answer the questions as I went along I could save tonnes of time. Never knew it was a named strategy but definitely resonated with me 🙂
My Key Takeaways: How to Remember Everything you Learn I wrote this every time I watch any self improvement videos in the comments. 1. Discover the Map & Understand the broad before getting deep into anything you learn. 2. The best way to remember anything is to learn while you applying it. 3. When you about to learn anything, ask yourself, that is this curious to you? 4. Always share what you learn online/offline, this brings you extra remebernce, explore the questions & provide value. 5. Recall regularly & learn again and again if you didn't get the point.
Great video. You are by far one of the most influential people on you tube. I like the fact that you are straight and to the point and waste a minimum amount of time. Thanks for the info
I started watching Ali channel when he had 300k subscribers with studying tips , mind maps in ipad , notebooks etc. Got very emotional watching a video after long gap related to study and learn ❤❤ Ali is always my GURU of study and learn ❤🙏 Wish he makes more on study and learn videos ❤🙏
This explains why most graduates barely remember what they studied in school when they enter the workforce(If they didn't apply the knowledge). Thanks Ali, I really enjoy all your contents.
I have so much respect for you now that I see the ironing board in the background of your room. I have the same thing. It’s the perfect standing desk. 🌱🌿🌲😎
Have a lot to say man, Just wanna say that every word you say is really intentional, Everything is so practical with your editing and your accent, Its like pure honey from the hive man... Go change the world 🍻🤜
Follow our curious gut, learn it and share it, when teaching you learn twice. Thanks for the info, your train of thought makes it so easy to follow you!
Hey there! I love your video and the valuable insights you've shared. One key takeaway for me is the concept of "Just-In-Time Learning" as opposed to "Just-In-Case Learning." It makes so much sense to focus on learning things when they become relevant and necessary, rather than trying to cram information that may not be immediately applicable.
Love how you manage to precisely describe what seems like common knowledge, but at the same time, one can't exactly put their hands on, amazing stuff Ali! thanks for sharing
Thanks for the video. Loved it. I find that having a central place to take notes and organize my thoughts is crucial for retaining information. With a system like Amplenote, I can easily capture highlights and key takeaways from everything I read and watch. I like that I can tag and search my notes, which makes it easy to resurface concepts I've learned in the past. Amplenote's task management features are also helpful. When I learn something new, I create an action item to explain or apply that concept. Completing these small tasks right after learning reinforces the ideas and helps me remember. I also use Amplenote to write blog posts and share what I've learned with others. Putting thoughts into my own words and sharing online is a great technique for strengthening my recall. Overall, Amplenote is the perfect tool to help me learn more effectively and retain more of what I learn.
Great video. I am watching it again and again to see how well you have used your on screen text and how the transitions and effects are helping to focus on the matter rather than distract. You are not just a medical doctor, you should probably be honored with a doctorate for social media content creation too. Kudos to the team behind the effort.
@gottabepablo are you planning to share stuff of Cyber security on your channel? I am also learning Cyber security and planning to share what I learn on my channel.

Hi Ali and team, thanks for sharing informative videos with your fans. I'm enjoying and love learning new things through your videos. I'm impressed by you and your team's enthusiasm and creativity while working together. This makes me feel motivated and inspired too!

Great video, if i remember what I heard correctly. Either way, it's great spending time with you Ali. You've made journaling a more functional thing for me...newslettering. Brilliant !
Great video! Particularly love the part around sharing your knowledge - it‘s also the reason I started blogging and why I‘m always eager to share my knowledge, which many perceive as selfless - but actually, it‘s selfish! 😅
