Here on east coast at the Outer Banks NC we have been launching dorys for commercial fishing as a way to set nets off the beach but never knew of or thought about using it for recreational fishing rod and reel but definitely can work as option where no inlet exists for passage out to sea
My wife and I did that for one of the 10 days of our honeymoon driving the coast and enjoying the beauty of nature Great content it was a blast when we went
Very different but very good video. I really enjoy how you guys use the music in your videos. I find I enjoy and would listen to almost every song I have heard y’all use in videos in the last two years I have watched y’all. Don’t know how y’all find them but keep them coming. Awesome video and like how y’all helped the charters to grow the business while making great content. A little different than the offshore yellowfin tuna trips we have outta Port Fourchon and Venice Louisiana but thanks for bringing a south Louisiana boy into the Pacific Ocean for a fishing trip. Can’t wait till the next video on Monday. As always good luck and god bless guys.
Gotta try the Choho. Years back paid twice to fish Kings in Tillamook bay, but never hooked one. Guides didn't want to turn on the fish finder as it showed all the whoppers swimming on by. If those Kings won't bite there's not much you can do.
"it's not about the fishing" WRONG. Literally the easiest fishing I've done. Don't waste your time going out anywhere else. Joey Rocha has an awesome company.
Love fishing.....found it kind of funny the girlfriend and I were talking about fall salmon fishing snd i made the comment..."i wonder if a couple of the bro guys would wanna go fall salmon fishing in Astoria with me"
@Dane Boro they are born in a hatchery then released to a river/stream/creek and they make their way to the ocean to feed and live life. Then just like any salmon return to the waters they were born in to start the process over
@@daneboro6847 well we're not allowed to keep wild fish in the northwest except for some select areas and to be 100% honest with you. You would never notice a difference in taste
That rock is a designated wildlife refuge which means its illegal to fly any aircraft (drone) within 1000 feet of the rock. Also looked like some of those shots were more than 400 feet above sea level? 😅 I don't actually care though just giving u guys a hard time. Great footage. Drone laws are unjustified anyway.
How would you know if you have never been here and tried it? It's a unique experience is the point. Also you can kayak fish here and pretty much anywhere else also sooo..... 🥱🤷🏻♂️. BTW people quit saying "NOT" in about 1999 😅
@@russellwatters5891 also they kayak through the surf to fish out in the open ocean. Takes about 30 seconds maybe a minute to paddle out past the surf so not a big issue although you will get a little wet so if you do it without a wet or dry suit or some other way of staying dry then yeah may not be to much fun but then again you can just take a Dory and not have that to worry about. Point is that there are many ways to enjoy the ocean and one is not better than the other it all depends on personal preference
Jeezzz boys stop high sticking. Imagine loosing a 30lb lingcod, that’s what you’re asking for with the rod tips sent all the way past vertical. The biggest thing around, that your dream of catching, will make you pay for that.
@@ringotombso educate us then. Been here 43 years and they have always been dory's. Yeah in the early days before motors when they still had to row them they looked slightly different but a "speed boat" doesn't have a smooth flat bottom specifically designed for beach launching and recovery which is precisely what makes them a Dory
@@ringotomb that would be a drift boat which is designed that way so you can anchor, or back bounce (row backwards) in a moving current (the river) with little effort and without swamping your boat. But yeah in the early days before motors were the norm those boats were used the same way as modern dory boats are used as they also have a smooth flat (arched) bottom. Laverty is such a good dude, love that guy!! Great video boys!
You guys are living the dream, have fun. Thanks for sharing.
Holy smokes, that was a lot of high sticking! Your guide was nervously watching every time you set that hook! Wow
Great fishing! I have gone out of Pacific City in both dories and a Hobie kayak; the kayak was so much fun I bought one!

Pacific city is where me and my family always stayed at the coast, love it!
What a BLAST!!! Amazing fishing too!
There's something special about fishing the ocean of the west coast. Great fun and great food! Cabazon is a special treat, good catch!

Loving that y’all are using The Last Knife Fighter. Awesome music.
That is definitely a kick! I did it a couple years ago. Can't wait to go again!
I would give that two thumbs up if I could. That looks like so much fun. Maybe not for anybody that is prone to getting seasick.
Squirrel started on the river when people cast in the tree's more than the river.
We say Squirrel because that looks like what they are fishing for.
Awesome content guys. Looked like a pretty amazing trip. I'm gonna have to add that trip to my list!! Thanks.
I love dory boats, I got to go on my first trip this year, we launched in cannon beach and got limits of rock and lings it was a blast!! Nice video 🐟🪝

Love seeing our Lancer Jigs in action on the bottomfish! Awesome video guys
Hey! the good folks from Lancer... We're kayak fishing out of Hobuck beach and Neah bay June - July this year. Hopefully we'll see you out there.
Would be cool to line up a group for filling the boats and all camp and cook meet up
Do Port Orford next to contrast the South Coast.
Looks like a bit of a pucker factor for the first few minutes haha. Good job Noah, your skills are top notch.
Good day. Need a dory! Gets a little hairy at times getting out of nestucca bay!
Just watch out for the locals!

My dad lives right there up the little Nestucca river, Nvr been out on a boat tho. Thinks he’s too old and beat up.
That is so cool. I'll go next time!! lol
Very nice catches, what is the limit on those black bass?
I didn’t even know this kind of stuff exsited
Good work down there! No one got sea sick?

Dory Days is in July... Was this filmed last year?
Nice work! Old footage?
Who was the outfit that took you out? We’re in Eugene and would love to support some guides.
Ive went out there and we went a couple hours out to sea, so weird to see no land
I thought salmon wasn't open in the ocean until June 17th
I think you’re correct. This was filmed last summer.
@@bornandraisedoutdoors that makes more sense, but I'm definitely digging the content my dudes.
Can you give me any info about the song? "Jesus don't you take me, please"
What's the name of this charter company?
What happened to the fish at 24:55?
I live in Salem and I want to sign up
Not a fan of farm raised fish, I'd catch and release those, still looks like fun.
